@everythingcomics: Actually there are several people fit to do what Dick does. Case in point there have been numerous Robins and over the years the Teen Titans have been lead by Cyborg, Tim Drake, Cassie Sandsmark, etc. As for 90% of the DCU being able to dodge Ollie's arrows, yeah...that statistic is a complete fabrication. Can Green Arrow be replaced? Absolutley, after issue #101 his son Connor took his place for years in his own title. His protege Roy took his spot on the Justice League during Brad Meltzer's run. I fail to see how thats a black mark on the integrity of his character. Because in both instances Oliver Queen has come back and claimed his spot because people love him as a character. You say he doesnt stand out, I have to ask, what storylines have you been reading? Are you saying Green Arrow doesnt shine amongst a large cast? Read Identity Crisis. Even his brief appearance in The Dark Knight Returns is remembered very fondly. Hell, the first Green Arrow story I ever read was a prestige format one-shot team up with Batman called "The Poison Tomorrow". After reading that I didnt run out and buy Batman books, I went searching back issue bins for Green Arrow comics. I'll end it with this. Any informed comic book reader knows that there are no bad characters, only bad writers. Forget feats, abilities, superpowers or a lack thereof. A character's true worth is in how many good stories have been told with said character. Oliver Queen has been in the hands of creators like Jack Kirby, Denny O'Neil, Neal Adams, Mike Grell, Kevin Smith, Phil Hester, Brad Meltzer, Judd Winick, Cliff Chiang, Mike Norton, Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino. It's hard to argue with a track record like that. If you really want to know why Green Arrow is a good character, I suggest you stop wasting your time on this forum and pick up Green Lantern/Green Arrow, The Longbow Hunters, Quiver or jump onto his current ongoing.
