I'm a PhD student studying Astrophysics. I won't go into the boring details of what that entails. I love rock music, anything from pop punk to melodic death metal, but I'll still always cherish Happy Hardcore! I like to watch anime and read manga and just generally interested in Japanese culture.
In terms of gaming, I was introduced first with the Sinclair Spectrum ZX, and played the many delights of Dizzy, Horace and Batman. I still love the screeching sounds when loading up the games via cassette's. We later had an Amiga, but then mainly concentrated on consoles, going from the NES, Mega Drive (Genesis) and the Mega CD, Gameboy, SNES, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, PS3, PSP and Wii. I also saved up quite a bit of money to buy myself an Alienware PC but now more recently I've not used it for games and having fallen into Linux, so I have Kubuntu running on there and no games because...well...there's no games on Linux!
I kind of like all games really apart from RTS, for some reason I just can't get my head around them. I don't seem to have the multi-tasking skills. Seeing someone play well is always an amazing sight to me. Burnout Paradise has been getting the most play recently. I just enjoy taking part in the challenges and the new timed challenges have sparked that competitive edge in me to get the top times. I'm holding a couple but probably not for long!
Recently got married to a wonderful woman from Alabama who's currently in Mechanicsburg, PA with a love of all things Mac. I will probably be making the move across the pond when my studies are done.
