I agree with @shinobi626276, I love this connection to Neron, a DC big baddie that's great to pop up in, better tan Trigon for sure. And I'm sure there will be issues where the couple shop at realtor agencies or enjoy nightlife but there is scenes of that with other more tame LGBT couples. That's what interesting about Apollo and Midnighter is that they are powerful figures who draw antagonism from powerful forces always have. And personally if they were more in the opposite extreme, I would cry foul of marginisation. Plus who wants to read a superpowered couple walking their puppy when they're both nearly unbeatable in combat. That's hotter than bara.

Seems like a good jumping on point for the series. I like the art and the tone of the story holds up to good storytelling.

The writing in Marvel has been on a horrible downturn for some years. It sucks that with each event the characters are written as if in abubble with no acknowledgment of continuity and this is will be another extension of that. Why is Beast with the Inhumans working on MPox allegedly when he never sent the original XMen back to their time? He has shown that he wouldn't support the XMen during AxX even as the Avengers considered killing the Phoenix Five and he was part of the Illuminati for a bit yet the Inhumans trust him enough to allow him to live amongst them. All of this is out of character for Hank McCoy.

There has been bias against mutants in the Marvel world for decades but it has gotten blatant due to the poor writing. Fantastic Four and Avengers have always been applauded, except in cases of mass casualties, yet the X-universe had to hide the fact that the school existed to protect and train mutants in their powers. Just illogical. And TP/TK, which should give advantage in most fights, has always been nerfed. Prime example would be Psylocke, who has both TP/TK but uses them most often for reconnaissance and linking minds on the battlefield and relies almost only on her martial arts and psychic blades. Imagine how OP she would be in another universe? I like the idea of a separate alternate universe for mutants, it's become that way in recent years as X-events barely connect to non-mutant continuity (Strong Guy as a Hell Lord, Darwin killing Hela or whatever and becoming the God of Hel).

As per Black Bolt taking on Magneto, Magneto would be a spear in the debris afterwards but there are still other mutants who can mind wipe, alter reality, time travel, possess a death touch and more but they don't get written often or well.

Great hot list, Death of the Endless is the original pretty both pinup! I would also include Lady Death, Vampirella, and Witchblade, Top Cow always had a nudge towards the S&M ?

@jim158: Is that true? I haven't read much of this series but Apocalypse is such an integral character and erasing him would have insane domino effects and time travel is already poorly executed and convoluted in X-titles as is. And how can a clone of someone continue to exist when the original DNA is erased from ever existing? Its so messy in the hands of most writers. Like how when young Scott Summers was erased from existence and older present Scott also disappeared momentarily yet young Angel can experience the Black Vortex and it has no effect on older present Angel.

@2cool4fun: Im a fan of Darkseid and Thanos but have always found the writing for classic Thanos to have been more interesting, particularly after relinquishing his quest for supreme power and the love of Death reciprocated. What fails about most modern Thanos writing is lack of exposition on what motivates Thanos now. I enjoyed the introduction of the Cul Obsidian because it gave structure to the influence of Thanos as a Dark God worshipped by the conquered across the galaxies. Yet now since his resurrection pre-Cancerverse his ambitions aren't as clear and Thanos before never sought to dominate or crush souls. Initially Thanos was a researcher, after the Infinity Guantlet, Thanos was seen often seeking truths in the universe as he and Adam Warlock became two of the few entities outside of the normal realm of Chaos and Order. It seemed that Thanos still carried a torch during Annihilation as Death gloated (as in atypical writing) that Annihilus would be her perfect agent accomplishing what Thanos continuously failed at. The short series that was published not many years ago that retold the youth of Thanos was angsty and urbane. We need to understand where such an intelligent and heartless entity is going in future pursuits not to get another coming of age story. Thanos has achieved the goal of absolute power, complete omniscience and realized that it isnt for his fit. Why would someone so dynamic continue this obsession? Because he deserves it more than anyone else? Thats Doom's MO, not Thanos. If not for love, for truth, for power, then what else drives him? I hope well for this next Thanos series, sounds like a great team but the words so far disclosed about the origins of Thanos are not inspiring that I will personally enjoy it.

@Ezekael:

I feel ya, it's like reading colorless manga, the powers display, action and background can sometimes get difficult to separate or they overlap without a clear depth in show.

@gogozero:

You hit the nail on how I feel about the Marvel focus on Inhumans. I grew up introduced to comics via X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons and then jumped headfirst into Marvel and DC (and Wildstorm, Vertigo, Image, Top Cow, the good ole days of true diversity). I always liked the Inhumans living on the Moon and being more involved in space crossovers. The last great writing for them was with Black Bolt in the Illuminati but then they revealed the Skrull Imposter and started to shift more weight around Medusa as she took his place momentarily. After that it all blurred out of lack of interest. And Medusa has a great power and image, but the writing doesn't interest me, she's dating her little sister's ex, and at some point Crystal was one of Black Bolt's wives but I guess Inhumans are more progressive.

As per the Inhumans hate, again it comes back to the writing. The Inhumans were written with more focus on their strange origins and awesome powers and I get wanting to concentrate on their present n future but the writers have just replaced mutant with Inhuman and not created any greater difference (Utopia vs Attilan, Lash vs Magneto). The moment that Stark enlists Sentinels to invade Attilan, it's a wrap (of course Stark's tech already fills that plot vacancy). The Terrigan Mist fiasco has so many gaps in logical solution writing (Crystal/Storm/Jane Thor and a bunch of speedsters funnel the mist into outer space) and is just a convenient plot tool when it could be more.

@washingtonputydc: thanks for recommending bleedingcool.com, very nice site, more variety. The forums were what mostly brought me to CV and they have been growing poorer in quality for a long time now! Check it out folks!
