@HaHaManHV: I would like to refer to Origin of the Species still being under Executive Meddling. Having just come out of OMIT Mary Jane was written to be useless. Notice how practically every scene with Carlie was in praise of her. Mary Jane has been written so that Carlie looks better by comparison. Mary Jane throws Carlie at Peter, I've never set up my ex girlfriends with dates. It's just a weird and forced characterization. I get that some people just don't like or understand Mary Jane but don't force her to act out of character to fit a story. Thats one of my major peeves with serial fiction. don't get me started with that whole Bobby Carr mess.

But going back to OMIT, Mary Jane was written horrible. She was forced to act like an abused wife who acted like she didn't know what she was getting in to when she accepted the proposal. Go back to the original stories , she never once thought about having children with Peter. She just knew that she loved him and wanted to marry him. The couple only talked about having kids years lated.

If you want to continue this little debate hit me up at Spider-Man Crawlspace Forums. I know some people who would agree with your opinions about Spider-Man in the Zeta house.

OMIT is character assassination against Mary Jane. I can't accept how Mary Jane was treated in this story. She was made into a victim and was played as a weak character. When she has always been portrayed as a strong independent woman.

" Ultimate is basically Amazing but with Peter stuck in his teenage years and never allowed to grow up. That's usually my general opinion, as cynical as it is!  Vastly prefer Amazing, even after all the abuse Joe Q. has given poor Spidey :( "
I would say the same thing for Peter of BNDverse, under Joe Quesada's helm Peter isn't allow to grow up or escape his twenties.  Why do you think OMD happened. Even if you didn't like the marriage you got to admit selling your marriage to save your aunt  is all kinda wrong even when she told him not to.

Yes I do think gay characters are being downplayed but mainly from Marvels side. I can't think of a significant lgbt character at Marvel beside maybe Mystique. Northstar may had been the first to come out but Mystique is much more well known. She has appeared on every X-men cartoon and in movies. What has Northstar been in? I can name plenty of DC gay characters but at Marvel they're few and far between. And to put this in perspective I'm gay.

Personally I think Black Cat  is over sexualized to the point of annoyance. And I'm a Black Cat fan.

@Deadcool: You do realize that the only reason Norman came back was because of the fact that Harry Died?

@Deadcool: Yes it did alter the time line because like I said earlier different things happened because the couple weren't married. For god sakes Mary Jane never got pregnant because she never wanted to have a child with peter because he was spider-man . Or Osborn why did he need to come back from the dead.  He didn't need to in this timeline because Harry is still alive.

Me! I thought it was stupid to take Helena away from her if you went though a whole story arc introducing us to her just take her away. Plus I figured a competent writer would come along and retcon the fact that Helena's father was Selm's. I generally have my share of issues with that last volume of Catwoman. It really only good during the earlier parts.

I read in an interview by Glenn Greenburg that he stated that time travel in the Marvel Universe doesn't work like the way Joe Quesada wrote it in OMD and OMIT? So Mephisto actions should have caused an alternate universe. Creating different events, and character outcomes. Characters like the Black Cat act completely different then the way she was before before OMD which lead to my thought that because OMD  she loses much of her character development.
