Updating my Pull List.....

I'm updating my pull list since alot of whatt I used to read has turned to crap (X-Men) or been canceled(Guardians of the Galaxy). Already being add is Green Lantern, X-Factor, Flash, Fables & Jack of Fables.  So I'm looking for suggestions of comics that are currently being issued please.

Marvel was saying that a "Dark Avenger" was going to be joining the New Avengers. But based off that picture, he seems like he will be with just the Avengers(no adjective).

@Lady Tlieso: Thanos Imperative is coming :O

Even though I'm pretty sure it's not on the Database here...see if you can get LFG (Looking for Group) Final Arrow and Risky turned me onto it...

I will definitely add that one then. xD

@.Mistress Redhead.: Is Wonderland like Grimm Fairy Tales? The art is nice but I care for the story in those. You & G with your Batgirl. lol

...Booster Gold :)

@Final Arrow: DMZ is a war comic right? Sounds familiar.

@Voidheart: Thanos has his own comic? I'm not that familiar with him. :-/

@Slight: Isn't LFG a webcomic? I've read it online before.
Posted by _Sojourn_
@Lady Tlieso: Yes it is...but it's actually really good, and hilarious...

this. GoTg is actually just becoming it and the talent is likewise shifting to this book.

otherwise if your into a good superhero sci-fi R.E.B.E.L.S. is probably up your alley.

OH your one of them.

@geraldthesloth: I've only read a couple Booster Gold comics but they were hilarious. I never thought about him, good suggestion, Thanks!

Whatcha tryin to say :)?

Also the New Green Arrow has been great and Batman and Robin has been good.

But new from image comics is The Light well worth checking out. Also jump onto Images page I think they should have a few things you will enjoy.
Posted by Duchess Redhead
@Lady Tlieso: Grimms is kinda sex orientated, Neverland is actually a really cool story for those of us who love Fairytale stuff, its got a fabulous storyline building with Peter Pan as like an evil overlord king, its only had issue 0 and 1 I think so far..... but I really enjoyed the one I read.

AND batgirl rocks ;)
Posted by Nighthunter

I see that you like sci-fi stories so R.E.B.E.L.S. should be on your pull-list amazing book

Oh nothing, I think you said it all :P.

@Slight: No I agree it was funny. I still read it occasionally, I just prefer paper comics.

@advocatefish: Breaks my heart to, X-Men used to be my favorite comic. I stopped reading most of the X titles last fall. Have they gotten any better since then?  I just keep hearing bad things.

@Final Arrow: I don't think I read any Image titles. Not really sure why but I will look into those you mentioned. :)
Posted by Final Arrow

I like Image they are one of the better publishers, I have fallen behind from Top Cow and Dark Horse this year, but still pick up an Image tite when I get the chace, really some good stuff.

@Lady Tlieso: and if all else fails you can always pick up Invincible..one of the most solid books period.

Runaways :D

Posted by Lady Tlieso
@Duchess Redhead: Yeah thats what I didn;t like about Grimm. I will look into Neverland though.
Why does Batgirl rock thought??

@Nighthunter: I think I definitely need to add R.E.B.E.L.S., everyone keeps suggesting them so that much mean something. :)

That last statement I agree with Invincible is Awesome. Publisher IMAGE XD

@geraldthesloth:  @Final Arrow:  Invincible seems like something I'd like. I;ve heard lots of good things about it.

I thought that was getting canceled?

@Lady Tlieso: I think they are trying to move Neverland more into dark goth fairytale, there is revealing costumes etc,but it seems better written.

The Cassandra Cain stories are AMAZING her whole story is breathtaking and really dark,  including some of the most bad ass support characters in DC, the new stuff I am really enjoying but I think you would prefer the older stuff with Cassandra.

The Walking Dead

Posted by CellphoneGirl
@Lady Tlieso: There's always Ebay, but I HIGHLY recommend reading at least the first volume (18 issues of awesomeness) and it's my favorite series lol
Posted by Lady Tlieso
@Desiderina Redhead: I read one of the Batgirl TPBs & wasn't super excited about it. But I will try to pick up a different one & see if I like it more.

@danhimself: I honestly have no idea why I'm not already reading this since I love zombies. I think I declined in the past cause I had too many books to follow.

@xxCellPhoneGirlxx: Oh I have volume 1 & 2. I'm pretty sure I have all the issues since then until this year. I loved, loved the old stuff. I just didn;t like the most recent writer.
Posted by Desiderina Redhead
@Lady Tlieso: I kind of read all her story round about, the person to check where to start is G he is way ahead of me in fan boy ness... girl ness... either way ;)
Posted by geraldthesloth
@Final Arrow: I dislike image seriously...I'm all for Wildstorm.
Posted by CellphoneGirl
@Lady Tlieso: The third volume is blah, but you HAVE to read the last Arc of it, it's REALLY important that you do.
Posted by danhimself
@Lady Tlieso:  it's at the top of my favorite books...I look forward to it more than any other book on my pull list...you can get the Walking Dead Compendium which has the first 48 issues in it for $37 on Amazon

Oh I can agree with that wildstorm is above Image, but for my fun comics I hit Image.  My Publisher list goes.

DC
Vertigo
Dark Horse  (Just for Hellboy alone...big fan)
Wildstorm  (Desolation Jones was the Sh!t, I can go on and on)
Marvel
Image
Top Cow

@Desiderina Redhead: Yeah he does seem to know quite a bit about her. lol

@xxCellPhoneGirlxx: I will have to go back & read the ones from the past few months then. I think Darkest Night may have caused me to overlook them.

@danhimself: That's not a bad price at all. Thanks!!
Posted by geraldthesloth
@Final Arrow: I can't say I'm a big fan of Top Cow..I think Witchblade and the Darkness are way overplayed.

Dark Horse is awesome, Hellboy and Star Wars? I've been reading the Star wars comics since I was little.

Vertigo-Mainly because I loved Grant Morrisons Animal man and Alan Moores Swamp Thing along with some other titles.

Marvel and DC for obvious reasons

all Image gives me is Invincible lol.

I only like one top cow title, Impaler one of my fav artist are working on it, Mat Timson so i premote Top Cow as much as I can, everything else they do basically suck.

Dark Horse is awesome,

Obviously I'm pretty much limited to Vertigo in comics that come out on a month to month basis but I'd recommend any of them, so I guess whichever sounds most interesting to you of the following (sorry if I got winded with too much variety and detail, I only went with the ones off the top of my head and that are ongoing, I'm sure I missed some). With several of them I'd recommend picking up a few trades as well but that's your choice, I or the Web could always fill in the blanks.

American Vampire (new series, #2 comes out Wednesday, back-up story for first five issues is written by Stephen King, it's meant to be a new breed of vampire that traces through the 1900's and it's decades, really good if #1 is any indication)

Daytripper (like my status says, everyone should be reading this, it's only ten issues though with #5 having come out last week)

DMZ (Arrow already brought it up, but it's a great series, it's sort of taking a very new direction from where it's been in the past with this whole "war fugitive" angle but it's good stuff, political and so forth)

Hellblazer (I'm really enjoying Milligan's run on the title, lost love, demons and John Constantine, what more could you want?...the current two-parter is something of a filler but things appear to be getting back on track with #267 next month)

House of Mystery (amazing, love this series, humorous thanks to Cain and Abel from The Sandman and each issue leaves you with a cliffhanger that makes you -or at least me- want more)

Madame Xanadu (great fleshing out of an idle DC character, great series with lots of fun DC character cameos and an equally interesting storyline)

Northlanders (another great series, with the idea of telling the life of "Vikings" as it was so there's rarely a happy ending and lots of killing but the stories are heartfelt and good, written by the same guy who does DMZ and Demo)

Scalped (I love this title, besides the main storyline, it like Northlanders give interesting looks at random characters in that world, only this time the world is a Native Reservation, good stuff)

Sweet Tooth (the art is probably not to your tastes but the story is good, post-apocalyptic world where we follow a boy with antlers who seems to somehow be key to this plague, we're still slowly getting the answers to what happened)

Unknown Soldier (wow, there's just so many of these "realism" stories, I never realized how much I'm into that, anyways, this one is in Uganda where there's issues with child soldiers and civil war and stuff, the story follows the one man who doubles as another man -schizophrenic- who's trying to end the war)

Unwritten (my favorite new series from last year, this is a great literary masterpiece, intertwining literature of the past into a strange conspiracy tale, it's great, still a lot of questions floating about with what's happening but it's not hard to enjoy regardless of that)

@Nighthunter: I think I may actually have issue one. I thought it was part of one of the big crossovers but I could be wrong.

@aztek the lost: Thanks for all the details. :)  I wanted to pick up Unwritten when it first came out but never did, maybe I can get it as a TPB. A lot of these sound really good. Hopefully I can pick a bunch of them next month at the convention.

New Mutants has been good, and you can ride it on Nostalgia alone for the first 12 issues.

heh, here I thought you were a fellow Vertigo enthusiast but if you're interest relies upon two runs that were originally printed under DC and later collected by Vertigo, well...now I'm curious, what "pure" Vertigo comics have you read and enjoyed? not saying you can't like Animal Man and Swamp Thing (I haven't gotten to Moore's run yet but I have read all of Morrison's and understand why you love it and I've read Swamp Thing Vol. 4 so I'm familiar with the character) but Vertigo writers for those characters would be Jamie Delano, Nancy A. Collins, Brian K. Vaughan, Joshua Dysart, etc. (Basically I'm just asking since you said you were a Vertigo fan then listed DC comics, that's all, not an attack, those are great comics :D)

New Mutants restarted recently didn't it?
Posted by aztek_the_lost
@Lady Tlieso: well the TPB of the first five issues is only like $10.00 which as you must know is like half price for a regular trade so you should definitely check it out, I've been loving the series since April of last year when I saw the preview but #5 is what cemented the title IMO so the first trade should hopefully be a sell for you too ;D

and glad I could be of assistance, I think you should check them out if you can, I understand not everyone can love everything (me included) but I'm sure with the variety you'd love a few at least.

but going to the convention you say? which convention is in May may I ask? the only way I keep up with such things is CV so I have no idea what's going on
