Hmm...Ra's Al Ghul could probably take Shao Khan. With Ra's vast knowledge of the martial arts, he could take him down. If he dodges Shao Khan's attacks long enough and times it right, he could find his weakness and use some kind of ninja-pressure-point-killing technique. Goro wont be easy since he's practically a rock. Both Ra's and Bane will have to work together to put him down. I don't think Ra's or Bane will make it out in exactly one piece but they'll make it out.
If you're talking about the New 52, start with Batman #1. Batman and Robin, Batman Incorporated, and if you want Batman Detective Comics (This series doesn't really go with the others) You'll miss some stuff if you only read Batman because two of the story-lines so far have tied into other books like Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Red Hood and the Outlaws. But you won't miss much.
If you're talking about pre-52, then you should probably look up a reading order list. But you probably meant the New 52.
Isn't Batman: Year One only 4 issues? I don't know maybe the graphic novel has more content. The Long Halloween was pretty good. It'd be worth it. A time when the Falcones and Carmines really owned Gotham. The Dark Knight Returns is good. It's kinda rough around the edges but it shows Batman in a completely different light. I would choose Batman: The Long Halloween because its good or The Dark Knight Returns because it's a classic. Batman: Year One is good but I would rather just get the individuals since it's only four issues.
I would recommend Batman: Hush, The Man Who Laughs, The Killing Joke, and Batman: Dark Victory if you get Batman: The Long Halloween
