Unknown Location, Time: 5:02AM
"You know what you must do correct?" Loveless motioned her head back and the weight of gravity pulled it forward for her. She battered and bruised, lifeless bodies all around her. "You royally messed up...didn't you Loveless. Called upon a team of worthless wimps. Hanging on your every word and bit of praise. Some goose chase Loveless...some chase huh?" Loveless spit a few things of blood out as she scoffed at the accusers claims.
The dark figure circled her as if a shark waiting to snatch up it's prey. "You want to know who the mole was don't ya?" The man paused as he awaited the next move, she didn't respond. Only with a grunt of pain, "I will take that as a yes...well you see it was easy. From the get go they were compromised...your mission was to fail from the start. The world needed heroes, and we needed scapegoats." The man chuckled as he thought back to what had transpired. "Loveless we could have stopped this a long time ago, but the government decided that maybe the heroes should take the fall. Maybe they are becoming too powerful once again, why are there so many meta humans just gallivanting around. We had to rein ya in." The main allowed his cruel contorted face to grace the light of the lone lamp that had been illuminating Loveless' poor disposition.
"Now then...if your team takes the fall...then the world won't be in as much disdain, refuse and we dispose of you whole team and allow the majority of the world to flooded in destruction and chaos. Your move Loveless...your move." She popped in and out of the conversation as she tried to not black out from the wounds and bruises that had been inflicted on her for the past three days. The team was too far away for her to reach them telepathically, and her tech had been blocked since had gotten to the old run down warehouse. 'What would she do? What could she do?' She wandered as she looked for an escape, escape from this wicked man, and from this horrible situation her team was smack dab in the middle of.
November 17th
Lady Loveless had spent the day with her old companion Slicer and had just broken the news to him as to for there long over due meeting. "Slicer, this is TDK...he has uh...well look!" She gestured with her free hand to the man and his get up. He looked similar to Slicer, and that was battle ready. He already bared a mask and a long trench coat, which Loveless could tell hid many different gadgets and weaponry underneath.
The man approached them and greeted them before getting to his point, "what does the government have on me?" She looked at the newcomer and handed him his file. She watched as the man just sat there starring at her with such an intensity, without moving his head or torso he neatly grabbed the file from her hand. "Thank you." She nodded and carried on with looking into the files, chatting here and there with Slicer and their new team mate.
Tellumo had been quietly reading over his file for the past twenty minutes, when he almost fell out his chair in excitement. "Bam!!! Look at that!! Look!!!" He was pointing at an intelligence index of the team and his name was at the top, far outshining anyone else.
The three looked at his finding and went back to their own files without a second glance. Tellumo gloated at his accomplishment for a few more minutes and then realized they were only a team of four or five right now. It didn't seem as special to him then, so he slouched back down into his chair and kept on reading.
November 18th-Skybase
Loveless was going over a few additional pieces of paper work when the secretary popped her head. "Umm miss Loveless, your 8:30AM is here." Loveless allowed herself to take her out of that world of paperwork and scheduling.
"Send her in please..." The woman left the room and came back with a jubilant young woman. "You are..." she shuffled through post-its and calendar, "my 8:30...which is MAYA!" She grinned at the post-it and for a second forgot she had company. "Oh sorry, the past couple days has been frazzled to say the least. I am Lady Loveless as you may have heard. And my, my miss Maya you scored extremely high in our combat training team readiness. Thoughts questions about joining the newly revamped X-Viners?"
"Well Uh you see..." The girl started to formulate her response and push down her nerves when a blue light near the door started to flash.
"CODE BLUE! CODE BLUE!" Loveless looked at the light, then the girl, then her watch.
'Not even 9 and I get a code blue.' "Alright time to put your skills to the test, code blue means there has been an issue on the---" Loveless is cut short by the side of her office wall being ripped off. The Skybase wall absent revealed the world of clouds and dots that were cars far below. A large multi-eyed creature peered in at the two women.
The blue light continued to flash as explosions could be heard from all over the base. "What the--" The monstrous creature grabbed Loveless and took to the out portion of the brig, where it had been joined by countless other creatures with similar features. Six feet wide, eight feet high with thirty tentacles at least and a hundred or more eyes. Maya flew up to take in the damages and her jaw dropped as she saw the carnage of the damage that had been done.
