Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: war of worlds DC Vs Marvel

My previous blog idea for the Marvel Ultimate Alliance Game possible ideas (And no, they have not actually confirmed it), shows a major issue in the entire idea....

The fans are so broken over what game is best, with a lot of people wanting another original story, while the others liked the Civil War plot

Personally, as I have only a Wii I am not investing in Alliance 2, but I have an idea of how to create storyline that tops the epicness of the Civil War, and with originality of the first.

No Caption Provided

Though it does have a slight basis from a plot.....a very thought of plot.

The X-Over idea of Dc and Marvel

The basis of the story is this: you start out with two simultaneous battle scenes: one featuring the DC heroes and the other Marvel heroes, facing off against the same enemy, though not together. Imagine the villain like a mirror: one scene has him being attacked from the Right, the other from the Left, featuring a different group of heroes each time.

Then the bad guy does something, and each team of heroes gets randomly warped into the others world, though its not quite done like how it was in the opening of the two games (Eg, as opposed to Spiderman waking up with Captain America, Iron Man and Wolverine, he wakes up and finds random heroes like Sasquatch, Jubilee and Molly Hayes. In a similar vein, the DC characters wouldn't wake up in a group of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Green Lantern, but as Superman, Animal Man, Stargirl and Saint Walker)

Each act in the game is locked: example act 1 is in the DC world featuring the Marvel Characters with a lot of optional missions to find each other, while Act 2 is the DC characters in the Marvel world doing the same, while also dealing with the culture clash.

Act 3 would feature the villain from before beginning to create tears in the DC world, and Act 4 the Marvel World...with Act 5 the big meeting point and final boss battle for the fate of two worlds.

The roster (Featuring well known and a few, less known characters)

A way to fix Wolverine

Now, I am told that Marvel has flaws......not that I pick up any of their titles. True, DC does have just as many flaws as Marvel does, but here I have a way to fix one of Wolvie's flaws

People say that Wolverine is loosing his personality and is over exposed.....well this wouldn't really help him there but I believe recent events in Uncanny X-Force will help

Here's the idea, after his killing of Daken, and also due to that incident with a army of his children, Wolverine will end up having to deal with his own 'Death of the Family' story arc

No Caption Provided

Sabretooth will be after anyone who could hurt Wolverine, and is aiming for those who are closet to him......Kitty, X-23, Jubilee ect. I don't know if Armor or Rogue would count, and I am quite sure Pixie doesn't...

So not quite sure why she's here.....but it would be a good way to keep Wolvie's old poppy wolf personality around, and to play with the end of Daken

Yeah? Ney?

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 created a alt civil war story that was far more neutral for both sides: making each seem human.

Perhaps they could do it again

Potential new characters for the New 52

The New 52, just as polarizing as Marvel's Civil War or Avengers vs X-Men, if not for its....unpleasing changes to some stories, mainly in the form of uniforms

And others the author is willing to let it mature first before condemning

Hey, the relationship is still being made....you can hate on on Justice League 20 perhaps

However, the New 52 has gotten a lot of good strength for introducing characters

And some the Author personally likes who gets undue hate

Oh come on, there has to be someone who wanted to do that?
Oh come on, there has to be someone who wanted to do that?

Now, who else could appear and keep the New 52....new

The Legion of SuperHeroes: century 21st

No Caption Provided

No, not Legion Lost.

The idea here is that while the Legion itself is a no go, their races are not. Whose to say they can't appear.

Now, from what I have seen, the Legion of Super heroes is about as affected by the New 52 as Green Lantern or Batman, if even less affected even. That suggets that the heroes of the legion retain their home worlds.

While some are just humans who were swallowed by space whales, struck with magic lightning and descendants of Brainiac, there are some possibilities. After all, 1000 years can't create their sort of powers. (Unless one of their ancestors was like Wolverine with the ladies)

I have a awesome power set!
I have a awesome power set!

First we have Element Lad. His race is a peaceful, single valley dwelling race who were pushed to near extinction by a pirate whose name is vaguely Kingdom Heartsy. Could one of them somehow end up on earth?

No Caption Provided

A race of un-materialistic beings who can turn the Carbon in C02 to gold........The Ascetic, the GiftBringer or something could be a interesting character to have to foil a more materialistic character, like perhaps Booster Gold.

Or perhaps, he could be a interesting idea to devulge into the idea of heroes who use their powers in a god like fashion. Superman once warned ION Kyle that playing god would just lead to problems. This could be a way to work on showing this concept play out.

If only the art was better.....
If only the art was better.....

I'll admit I have a slight crush on Dawnstar, but that doesn't factor into this. Basically what factors in is that Dawnstar's people are around at this time, and have powers.

Dawnstar's people are a tribe of indians who were abducted by aliens and genetically modified, growing wings and gaining very good direction senses, sort of like birds. Its like a more Angel like character with a hint of Hawkman....and a politically correct version of Apache Chief for the Indian concept.

A Starhaven resident could be a interesting method of delving into Indian culture and spirituality, but a series could not really work. Like Angel, A Starhavener would work better as a team member....

Perhaps a Teen Titan?

Male or Female Amazons

There are many examples for the legion that I do not have the time to get into, so to my personal favorit idea, a male Wonder woman sidekick, or for that matter, a male amazon

This doesn't even need to be a Wonder Woman sidekick. The recent addition to the WW lore of male Amazons could easily have a Amazon son who becomes his own hero, with no connection to Wonder Woman.

No Caption Provided

Sort of like Talon.

It would be a interesting way to expand on the Wonder Woman world, and the godly side of the DCU. Perhaps the guy could end up in a fight with some gods from outside of Greece...

It would be interesting idea, right?

Then again, trying to make a Wonder Woman spin off character might not be doable with her numbers. A Wonderboy sidekick teamed up with Wonder Woman in a second title might be a safer gamble.

Or even add in some new Female Amazons...like that one in Demon Knights

The Corps

No Caption Provided

The revamp of the Corps has opened a lot of options for new heroes. As of now, there are corps members for the Green, Red and Star Sapphire corps from Earth.

But, could a Indigo, a Blue Lantern or a second Star Sapphire appear on earth?

The Blue Lantern Corps are currently homeless and central battery less due to the reach

The Star Sapphires are under the control of allies of the Guardians

And the Indigo, who are the most likely to be sending a recruit to the planet, have this point, all of their recruits are psycopaths......like CARNAGE! Unless Snyder gives Joker a ring......there will be no one from Earth with its power.

Can we even afford new characters

Now here's a point. We still are trying to find the space to bring back many old faves

Do we really have the time to create Wonder Boy when Donna is still missing? Should be focus on bringing back characters like Toyman, Livewire, Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown, Wally West, Doctor Light (both), Geo Force and Elongated Man as oppose to make new ones.

But, if we don't freshen up the characters.....when will we stagnate?

A scientific reason for the sexiness of the comic supercharacters

A short blog to see how it comes out.

Comics have many, many reasons for getting a bad reputation. Ranging from the Comics Code Authority to geek persona, one issue that people have in comics is that of how characters are depicted visually.

No Caption Provided

No Caption Provided

There are those who complain that comic book females and guys are not realistically portrayed physically. Few have reasons for this, bare Caitlin Fairchild.

The body is part of the power
The body is part of the power

So why are 90% of the super powered characters, bar exceptions like the Blob....depicted the way.....

Science searches for an answer, and unlike Monster Quest has a good one.

Mutations and the desire to pass them on

No Caption Provided

A fare few characters, like Emma Frost do admit to having plastic surgery, and Mystique is a shapeshifter, but there are many heroes who appear to be immensely attractive without alteration.

A possible explanation for this is the biological desire to create better offspring, which is the basic idea of evolution: Where the good genes are passed on.

The idea behind this is simple: the presence of active powers would, if humanity were animals who focused on only breeding like wild animals, would they want to pass the genetics of a normal person....like Alfred...or would they want their children to have Wolverine's healing factor?

Characters like Storm, Fire, Rogue, Wonder Woman and Jean's biologies are attractive to those around them due to biology wanting to have them pass on their powers to the next generation, as Wolverine proved with Daken, Jimmy Hudson and the Ultimate X-23 for just a few examples.

(I remember reading a panel with Jubilee, Kitty and Wolverine that might explain the male equivalent of the female's most common superpower, but I can't find it. )

Other reasons for non mutants

There are exceptions to this evolutionary idea. Heroes like Batman and Iron Man lack super powers, yet they have a lot.....of company.

I can't speak for why a male is attractive or not, but while non powered heroes do train a lot.....I am sure the fact that some are extremely rich has some thing to do with it.

So, wonder if this will get any attention of a positive nature. Its a short article

Breaking Down the Third and Fourth Wave of the New 52

DC current approach to comics is this, every few months they cancel stories based on either sales or perhaps story or author (As questions for the Legion Lost and Frankenstein fans as to why their stories got cut, personally I believe the Legion Lost gets to go home while S.H.A.D.E gets destroyed by the Rot)

People spend far too much time raging about the New 52's flaws....like the Teen Titans (News Flash, TT is the 48th most selling comic in October, beating Captain America, Wolverine, the Ultimates, Invincible Iron Man, and Daredevil in sales) so lets just try and be civil and look at the reasons what could be next

The Third Wave

The wave begins in January-Feburary, with the launch of Threshold, JLA, Vibe and Katana.

Now lets look at each title and figure them out

No Caption Provided

Threshold is an Edge title....the second worst of the New 52 (The worst being YJ based on cancellations anyway). Now, that should be a bad idea because the only time they added a Edge title, it got cancelled and is in fact being replaced by this (G.I combat.....I saw this coming ages away myself). However, this title won't be like the other titles that got axed.

This title is edge, but its much closer to the GL in my opinion. Its in space, has a former green lantern and deals with DC's cosmic heroes.

This includes guys like Adam Strange, who recently appeared in Young Justice, and Lobo, hopefully to undo the damage done by Rob Liefield.

With the Third Army event going on, some more guys in space are good for dealing with such an event. The Green Lantern comics are amongst the highest selling in comicdom right now, taking spot 6, 33 and 40 of the top sales charts.

JLA, Vibe and Katana

The big new one, written by Geoff Johns himself. The title is, arguably, the most important of the new relaunches. Its very story will cause the Trinity War...you probably saw my last blog post so I won't focus on that.

However, it has a huge dynamic of new characters, written by Geoff Johns. It introduces two new characters, the revived Vibe and Geoff Jonn's pet character, and author appeal Stargirl (Who, as a character based on his dead sister if I recall, will most likely not die, particularly by plane crashes)

She and Simon are his creations, so he should be able to do them, and avoid the Justice League's criticism of being out of character, such as Wonder Woman.

It bands together a group that, at the most, are B list heroes. Most aren't even that. Its not a god like team like the Justice League is, so it will feel a bit more like a Avengers team (17th highest selling book, ignoring Uncanny as a launch book, which was Number 1) than a Justice League if you ask me. This team will be making its mark in DC, so its worth watching, if just expecting them to be used as a way to mock the Avengers

As to members Vibe and Katana, its rather interesting that they are giving them a series.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Vibe I could understand, as he's a whole new character (Practically, as he was in a poorly received JLD series (Detroit), and was only known for being the first Justice League member to ever die). He has interesting powers and perhaps he could work where Static failed, as a way to reach out to a major minority with a new character in the New 52.....I mention Static a lot

But Katana? Birds of Prey isn't selling that well (The 102d best seller right now), and Katana is far from the best asian character to have her own series. I'd almost prefer a Grunge series, or perhaps even a series based on the Super Young Team. Why her instead of Star Girl or Martian Manhunter...particularly by a writer who didn't do that well with Green Arrow.

Wave 4

No Caption Provided
Bollocks, the Writer doesn't give me a big image too....
Bollocks, the Writer doesn't give me a big image too....

Why am I mentioning a wave that hasn't happened yet?

Because we know two titles already.

The Scott/Lee Superman Title, and John Constantine.

The first title is almost a dream team title come true, like Grant Morrison on Deadpool or Brian Micheal Bendis on Static. Two of DC's finest together to write the companies biggest character. (31st in sales with Scott Lobdell). Superman will be given more time to shine, and hopefully make up for his bad start.

John Constantine...well I don't do dark, but I am told that he is popular with a mildly successful title in Vertigo......and the Dark is doing well at DC.

If we assume that the wave will have four titles, there are still two titles to expect.

With Scott Lobdell rumored to have a title spun off the Teen Titans featuring Raven (And yes, Ravagers has problems, but that doesn't mean all spin offs will), we have to wonder what other title could be spot four?

Fourth Wave, Fourth Book

No Caption Provided

I wouldn't mind Sensation Comics, a second Wonder Woman title (currently 44th in sales, but to put that into perspective, sold a little more than 300 less than X-Force). Perhaps a title in the present day might get more sales, and with a lighter approach than Azzies.

It could even be a place to add her more....mortal enemies like Cheetah. Doctor Psycho, Giganta (Who has cameod in Justice League and Rotworld) or perhaps even add a Wonder Boy (See earlier blog post)

No Caption Provided

Tim Drake....well Batman is popular. It is the third highest selling comic, Dc's best (And seeing as the top two were AVX 12, and the new Uncanny Avengers, the math as it is isn't quite that valid). Also, while I like Teen Titans, I don't really much care for Tim Drake.

People complain a lot about his back story, so perhaps a series could straighten him out. Or free up the Titans for more young heroes who are not a walking controversy.

No Caption Provided

A series focusing on the other corps, such as the Star Sapphires or Blue Lanterns....well it has to be better than the Red Lanterns. They wouldn't have the savage violence people complain about, and I am pretty sure the Sapphire's would get attention even if they were written by Rob Liefield.....if he doesn't draw them that is.

But, take thats aside

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Doctor Light could be an interesting character to have a series based off of. Animal Man has his kids getting involved in hero stuff, same with Batman. She has kids too, and with the crisis possibly gone, she is probably a true meta human now. Could her kids be gaining powers and use that as a story premise. I also think she's a better Asian than say, Katana.

I mean, isn't there some other, really gruff and unpleasant character with ties to Japan with a family dynamic that people like to read about.....

No Caption Provided
Donner Blitzen
Donner Blitzen

I know they have problems, but perhaps if the Milestone issue gets resolved, a new Milestone series could be tried. Static isn't the only character from Milestone to try, Icon and Rocket could have series, or perhaps Hardware, possibly Xomib, or even a Donner and Blitzen.......miniseries maybe?

Just imagine them by Gail Simone....

Or they could even try Static again....with a competent writer who can write Static the way he should be written and some lightening up on company based pressure. Maybe DC could offer Dan Slott Asylum or something after issue 700 and have him do it?

No Caption Provided

Hal is....somewhere between death and life right now. A past book for him could be an idea to show him when he was alive, and later to allow Simon to have his role in the Third Army at the same time as Hal.

But then again, I don't really like Hal that much.

No Caption Provided

Steel has appeared in Action Comics. He's fought the rot. Can he fight the sales market? He did have his own series once upon a time.

No Caption Provided

She had her own series briefly before the New 52, and more time for her, particularly with her connections to Batman, would be nice. That could be a useful little add on for when the Trinity War begins, or just a way to give her more time to play in the New 52 out of the dark

No Caption Provided

Plastic Man is a famous hero, with only a few cameos so far. Unless Charlton is having problems too, I can't imagine why they wouldn't try to put him at least somewhere.

No Caption Provided
He doesn't like me much more than Constatine....
He doesn't like me much more than Constatine....

Currently in the DC Universe Presents title with Blue Devil, the adult version of Static who well predates the much more famous teenager is being currently established his place, and the idea of Presents is to give a chance for lesser known characters to be given a chance in the DCU.

I personally would prefer Black Lightning, but with the Dark as it is, a Blue Devil series might just last longer. Or they could put him in the JLD (not detroit).

The kill list

But, for every new title....they have to get rid of some old ones.

If we go sales wise, of the titles who remain after wave 3 with the least sales as of now, the bottom six, are from worst to best, I' Vampire, DC Universe Presents, Hawkman, Deathstroke, Demon Knights and Batwing.

(Am I the only one expecting Green Arrow to be here...whose the fourteenth worst selling, beating Dial H and All Star Western by the way)

Right now, if I had to take my pick, I'd definitely expect Deathstroke and Hawman to go. I Vampire has such huge fans it might stay for that reason alone, like how Blue Beetle did back in the day. Batwing could even be given up to show that DC won't make 52 bat books.

So, what do you think?

Super Comic Super Trust Company 100 new comic initiative

(Note, not main blog for the week)

Funny story about this one. I do fanfictions and in one Harry Potter story (Where he and a few others ended up going back in time and ended up Flashpointing his world......as if it was written by Grant Morrison and Frank Miller, creating things like Ronfoy Prewett, Draco the Hufflepuff, Snape the Marauder and a generally worse world...its rated M so no looking for it).

While in the past, Harry ends up with a lot of money and Hermione's perfect recall....and a lot of characters aged up, down or out of existence. So, seeing advantage in the situation, this Harry Potter ended up using his money (Aided by the Sorcerer's stone) to buy up DC, Marvel and a few other groups, while also using ideas whose creators had vanished, such as Naruto, Avatar the Last Airbender and Ben 10, and begins to create a crisis in their respective comic worlds.

This not only manages to avoid the Comic Crash by knowing about it, but allows for the fusion of their worlds together....but leaving a few alternate earths as they were so in the event the idea fails they can fall back cleanly.

So, just for kicks I'm posting the full list of 100 comics, and their writers here. Now, recall that this is fictional, I know it can't happen without Harry's world of Time Tuners and Potions, but wonder if I had any good ideas here?

What the Trinity War needs to do to avoid Civil war's criticism

No Caption Provided

Despite the fact that fans claim to hate it, we still buy it. We discuss it. We have entire forums dedicated to heroes fighting heroes.

So far, Marvel's done a big event based on this concept alone, twice in the last 6 or so years.

Now, DC does its own take its on go at the event. Geoff Johns, the writer, is not lacking in knowledge of how to do wars, see Sinestro Corps War, or friends vs friends, like Blackest Night. But can he do Trinity War better than Civil War?

What does he have to avoid?

The Conflict Ball and Necessary Proper Tension

Marvel's really, really big conflict ball that is generally preferred to the one recently
Marvel's really, really big conflict ball that is generally preferred to the one recently

This T.V tropes term refers to a very quick descent to violence. Civil War had this problem: the heroes were just far too quick to do some really, really over the top acts of violence. Iron Man in particular is guilty of this, but then again so was everyone.

Avengers vs X-Men, despite its hate, at least had Schism to give a reason for Wolverine to not aide the X-Men, X-Sanction and Cable to make the two groups at odds, the Phoenix Force and their two radically differing views on it and Cyclops's good point about the Avengers staying out of X-Men affaris (And Vice versa)

Its not perfect, but there was a bit more reason.

This is where the New 52 comes in handy. A lot of old history is gone, meaning the characters have not had the time they once did to bond with one another. You've also seen some conflicts already.

First, Baz ended up attacked by the Justice League, and you also had Green Arrow and Aquaman's issues in Issue 8. With these three heroes, you have an example of already existing tensions to start a war.

Seeing as I don't read a lot of the main DC comics, I may not be able to find point that I have not read or seen, so be free to point out other examples. Though then again.....would Swamp Thing be in the Trinity war?

Geoff Johns

Geoff Johns
Geoff Johns

I understand that sometimes Geoff undelivered on Justice League, but I liked how the Graves arc ended myself. However look at what he's been doing....

1: In Green Lantern, he caused Hal to 'vanish'. Due to this, the Justice League is after Baz because they believe that he could have something to do with it.

2: In Aquaman, we see that Arthur Curry is a darker character, quite willing to kill, which would really bother Batman The Others and his new conflict with Orm over Atlantis, a X over which will affect the Trinity War, suggests that Aquaman will be a catalyst.

3; He did the final for JLI (....I miss you....) , where not only did he suggest SuperWonder is a harbinger of the end for more than just Superbat people, but also gave Brother Eye from O.M.A.C a connection to a mysterious other. Could this other be a player in the Trinty War?

4; Finally, he's writing the Justice League Books, meaning that he will indeed be the guy to start it. As of now, at least Dan Dido is helping set the story up with Phantom Stranger's recent confrontation with Pandora....and possibly other writers too as we get closer.

In a sense, what its being done is setting the stage for so long it doesn't feel out of the blue like Civil War was. Cylcops and Wolverine at least spent years glaring at the other.

DC's Masterminds of Behind the Scenes Manipulation

With 14 issues at the most so far, few characters have been brought back, and we still clamor for many. But perhaps its time to look at whose been used as opposed to who hasn't.

Amanda Waller, the lady who gave the Justice League a run for their money on the T.V show. Now we have her running Suicide Squad, planning something with the Teen Titans and asking Graves for advice on how to take down the Justice League.

What do I know
What do I know

My personal favorite Justice League founder the Martian Manhunter. This super powered Telepath was nearly a leaguer before going nuts, knows something big for the future, betrayed Stormwatch and is a JLA member.

Helspont and the Daemonites. These guys in particular interest me. With aliens meant for possessing humans, they alone could star a civil war by possessing various heroes.

Maxwell Lord. Might had slipped by some due to being a O.M.A.C, but he's around...or was? Did he die? But this guy did nearly destroy the Trinity pre New 52, perhaps he'll finish the job?

Even the Joker could be it. The few times Batman has gotten close to killing are generally Joker related, such as the death of Jason Todd. Now imagine if the Joker managed to kill someone important off....like Damian, Alfred or as it seems now, James Gordon. Batman could snap and kill the Joker.....and have Superman go Kingdom Come. They are fighting in a scene after all, Bat and Supe.

All of them feel more catalyst like for a civil war than Nitro and laws.

Who would or would not be involved

Wolverine and the X-Men #15
Wolverine and the X-Men #15

DC has 52 titles at all times. how many would tie in.

From my understanding of Marvel's event hate, a lot of the issues that come from the events is how they tie into the other comic and interrupt the storylines.

You can see that in the New 52, with Batman and Robin being a notable example. Though I have not seen nearly as much hate for the Death of the Family than AVX.

BIRDS OF PREY #9
BIRDS OF PREY #9

With Action Comics tying into the present after Morrison leaves, that suggests that the title could have a tie in issue. With the heroes as they are in the JLA and the JL, you could expect tie ins with Batman, Aquaman, Vibe, Katana, Birds of Prey, Superman, Green Arrow and Hawkman.

Though titles like Wonder Woman, that appear to be the past, probably won't.

But they are but a fraction of the New 52's whole. Some none JL/JLA hero tie ins are likely.

Nightwing would be in it as Batman's ally, same with Batgirl or Batwing

The Teen Titans are led by Tim Drake, while you have Superboy who might have reason, after the H'el on earth thing to be allied to Superman, or after him....

YoungAvengers/Runaways1
YoungAvengers/Runaways1

As government agents, Suicide Squad could be JLA allies.

And then you have Team 7. They could have found Pandora's box after all.

Green Lantern is trapped in a long term story event with the Third army, likely keeping Kyle, Guy and Stewart off world, with Hal being a possible exception.

Its just fact that many of the other titles really can't be part of the Trinity War without it being really a stretch, even without a story arc that could go on for a while. The Legion of Superheroes is in the future and their time travel tech is acting up, though the Legion Lost could.

John Constantine is too centered in the magical aspect of the DCnU, so his title probably won't be involved unless the JLD is.

Earth 2 is too caught up in its own problems, though Worlds Finest could appear in it.

Demon Knight's are in the middle ages, so assuming the fights aren't crossing time....

Swamp Thing and Animal Man are actually possible, because Swamp Thing was met up by Superman in the first issue, suggesting a continuing connection between them, while Animal Man could follow Swampie's lead as they are allies.

All in all, this could draw in as many tie ins as Civil War, with hopefully less story flow problems. After all, Civil War had a lot of tie ins, which did create some problems, but allowed the issue to be seen though a lot of angles. Black Panther as a outside leader, Wolverine actually going after the problem (Nitro) and the X-Men as those who took a third route.

Could Trinity War too?

The News Making Death

No Caption Provided

That thing most comic book characters can avoid. Captain America died in the Civil war, but came back far too quickly despite promises he wouldn't. I like Steve, but perhaps he could have stayed down like other iconic dead characters (Barry was down about 20 for example, Supergirl about 15) in these sorts of events.

Now, had Captain America died for Real, and stayed that way, the Civil War might be better remembered. But he was only dead two years.

AVX might also stay better remembered in Charles Xavier stays dead. But personally, I expect his return by 2016 our time. What about you guys?

If a death occurs in Trinity War, and stays that way, it could make it iconic. Of course, the question is who to kill off......

With the way the DC is going at, I'd suggest perhaps Lois Lane or Steve Trevor. Cyborg too is possible, erm well to be fair the death would have to be unexpected. They seem a bit too obvious, I had personally hoped for Black Panther, Magneto or perhaps Cyclops (To keep him from doing something that more derails the poor guy).

It could have been a way to avoid the Steigfield lawsuit, killing Superman........

There would also be other popular but not flagship characters, such as Zatanna, Catwoman, Tim Drake, Nightwing and Booster Gold, if he isn't already gone.

Final Words

Can we say how the Trinity War will be started or what will happen? Any book could be connected to it, perhaps Static's poorly done two Sharon arc was to create a perfectly good or evil Sharon to open the box of Pandora? Then again, for perfectly good or evil, and to avoid the possible Milestone problem, Bunker could the sacrificial good or the Joker the evil? Perhaps the JLD will be involved because the JLA tries to ban magic......which seeing as a crazed Enchantress did capture Superman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg while beating up Batman might not be a bad idea.

But the speculation is for later, and we must only use what pieces we have at the present time. As of Christmas, however, we know, or can guess, this.

The potential for a male Wonder Woman Sidekick

Wonder woman, the lesser member of the DC trinity. Getting less fans than most other Justice League writers, such as Flash or Aquaman, she also lacks a sizeable family of characters.

This is noticeable in the New 52, with Donna in limbo and Cassandra no longer tied to her, and the two always seemed to be better shown when not with her but with the Teen Titans. This could be the perfect time to try and establish a new sort of sidekick for Wonder Woman....

A Wonder Boy, Kid Amazon.....name pending.

The main problem is how. Attempts at making lasting Male Wonder Woman characters fail generally with the exception of Steve Trevor......and even then your more likely to find someone who knows about Kyle Rayner or TIm Drake than him in the mainstream.

However, there are methods to.

A male Amazon

The new 52 changed a lot of things, and Wonder Woman was one of the most affected, in the same category as types like the Teen Titans. The fact that Amazons are now along the lines of their myth counterparts in how they reproduce and what they do with the males being one of them.

Diana is aware of this, and did attempt to rouse her brothers to help her.....problem is they just like Heppy too much.

But the top right image gives us an idea. It appears not all amazons hate their sons at the moment of birth. Could one have managed to hide one from the others? If Superman can be saved from a dying planet, can Wonder Boy, American amazon, Hemazon.....name still pending be saved as well

The Impulse Method

No Caption Provided

Here me out. Rip Hunter's recent mention in JLI annual speaks of a horrible future made by the kiss of Supes and Wondie. Could someone manage to sneak out of that timeline to the present? Impulse did it, the Legion does that every weekend....could a potential Wonder boy, Super Wonder, Kryptonian Amazon, names getting worse, a future son of Superman and Wonder Woman, appear though time and get stranded in the present.

It would be a way to play at the new status quo that is Super Wonder. Cyclops alone had more children this way than most heroes do the fun way. Superman has been shown at times to have dreams of growing old with a son , and in theory with blue Kryptonite they could do it. They did it in Kingdom Come after all.

The Percy Jackson Method

Wrong Universe but it is tied to the Wonder Girls. At least at some level Donna is a Demititan, magic mirror clone.... thing.....and Cass was a daughter of Zeus. As of Wonder Woman 13, she is a hunt for half siblings, and whose to say only Zeus has been busy. Apollo, Ares, Hermes and Aprodite alone had a habit of playing around, not to mention Posiedon and Hades. Perhaps not Candle head, but Poseidon is certainly possible.

If Jubilee got turned into a vampire due to the vampirie craze, perhaps trying the success of Rick Rioardan's books might be less likely to get hate mail?

There is another demigod about, Olympian about, if O.M.A.C and brother Eye were accurate, which leads credit to this idea.

How to portray them

This is the big one, How would the Wonder Woman- Wonder Boy, Son of Zeus, Wonder Son, Super Wonder or whatever relationship be. Would it be like Batman or Wolverine where they end up like a parent in a way with her sidekicks. Would it be in a cousin, sibling, non parental style relationship like with Flash or Superman.Wonder Woman's personality is somewhat moderate between the gruff and the nice heroes and their sidekick styles. The character's relationship would have to be done well enough to convince skeptical readers that a Wonder Boy could work.

Who should take over Worlds Finest

No Caption Provided

The New 52 has many issues that people harass it on. Wally West, Static, retcons and ect.

The series Worlds Finest.....is one of the issues.

Its not gelling like the others. Call me extreme if I liked the Slate Gang arc of Static more than its 4 part arc. I think its a good idea, its just not being done right.

They need a good writer to turn it around, and I have some thoughts.

Gail Simone

No Caption Provided

The writer of Batgirl and co writing Firestorm right now, and known for Birds of Prey and Secret Six, Gail is a writer who has a track record with female characters. She has also done a Huntress before. While the Huntresses are different, she can compensate. Earth 2 had a Batman who seemed quite willing to kill, so I assume that his daughter would have picked up on that.

I am personally quite impressed Firestorm is still around, considering Captain Atom was better known as a hero.

The biggest possible problem here is the fact that Gail might just write Huntress and PowerGirl subtext and encourage slash.....erm is that a bad thing? It might even be a way to introduce Atlee back......

Ron Marz

Ron Marz
Ron Marz

The original New 52 Voodoo writer wrote well received issues. However, that is not why I seleced him. Ron I selected due to how, of the three characters who had complaints about their sexualization (Catwoman and Starfire as well as Voodoo), she was depicted with reason. She was made to be a seductress, at least in his run.

With Powergirl's clothing damage probelm, might as well add a writer who might make that more than just a running gag. Perhaps interrogation? Anyway he could be a possibility

James Robinson

The writer of Earth 2, the book that spun off World's finest, he is the guy who knows the plan for Earth 2. With Earth 2 mostly focusing on the current actions of Alan Scott and Jay Garrick, among others, he could use this title to show off the past.

No Caption Provided

He could flesh out the war and the pasts of characters like Fury, Alan Scott, Terry Sloane and others connected to the past of the second earth via their memories.

After all, why deal with the problem Earth prime has in his own world?

Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray

No Caption Provided

The writers of the well recieved pre New 52 Power Girl series, they are the guys they want back. So why not bring them back. They can work with the current Power Girl's play girl attitude and Helena's comparative seriousness and with their friendship. The stories done currently's concepts aren't bad in themselves, but the stories are.

If we get writers loved by the fans, perhaps they can better them.

Of course, with Amanda Conners's art. You can't loose

Others

There are many writers in DC, and probably a lot of untested newbies. Perhaps they should try one of them out, after all wasn't Alan Morre and Grant Morrison like that when they got Swamp Thing and Animal Man, and look what happened.

a Rookie can't do much worse?

.....

. So what do you guys think?
