Comics I Read (w/comments) 2011

Here's an entire list of every comic that I have actually read starting from July 2011.

List items

  • Excellent! It's because of this mini-series that I actually like The Flash and a fan of Berry Allen. For whatever reason, I never thought I would be interested into "The Flash". This mini-series changed that for me. This is a great mini-series to begin as a hardcore DC Universe fan too.

  • Excellent! I really enjoyed this read as it's narrated by Eobard Thawne and is completely devoted to him. The most unique piece is Thawne is actively changing his own origin history as it's being told in the comic itself. 5 out of 5!

  • Wow, I'm surprised by how good this series is. Uncanny X-Force #11 is my first jump into it and this issue sells me right on it. I'm giving it a 4.5 out of 5. Very Enjoyable and good writing.

  • This free issue is pretty yin-yang. I was totally disappointed with the Young Justice story. It's basically a reintroduction of each character by expressing their fears which basically describes who they are.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold story was GREAT! Totally makes up for the disappointing Young Justice story. Very enjoyable!

  • Wow, totally unexpected ending. It makes the issue well worth it. 4 out of 5.

  • "Merciful Moonbeams! Retreat! Retreat to the Safety of the Moon!" - The Moon Gang member

Good issue, I give it a 4 out of 5

  • I felt this was a really good issue. 4 out of 5.

  • Just Alright. 3 out of 5. Weak story, but interesting to see the Great Ten make an appearance. Ok ok, more like the Great Four, haha.

  • 4 out of 5. The introduction of Hot Pursuit and the ending of this issue makes it worth the read. It was nice to see the West/Allen family make a small appearance in their casual clothes. The road to Flashpoint begins!

The art style is unexpected for me since I went from reading Flash Rebirth to Flash #8 and now #9. The art and colors of #9 are very different from what I expect. It's not bad, but its different. Strangely the style actually changes for "normal life" pages and superhero pages.

  • I enjoyed the beginning of this issue #10, getting to see more of Hot Pursuit and who exactly he is. What's even better is some Multiverse talk too! I always like that. I'm finally getting used to Francis artwork. It's really looking good now. By the end of the issue, it felt a bit short. 20 pages long, can't read the next one. 4 out of 5.

  • Just as I was enjoying Francis' artwork, they just had to change it. I really feel this issue, #11 was rushed. The art was the biggest distraction since it wasn't really up to par I felt. The story was a bit lacking too. I give this a 3.5 out of 5 due to a rushed job and the art. However, still enjoyable as its part of the Road to Flashpoint.

  • Wow, what a cliffhanger! This was the best of the Road to Flashpoint issues. This deserves a 5 out of 5! Great. Art was much better than issue #11. Writing was good too.

  • Wow. Flashpoint #1 is as big of an event as ever. This issue really introduces sooooo many new characters I'm not even familiar with their counterparts. This was actually part of the thing I disliked about the Flashpoint well. A lot of these "hero" minor characters I don't really like. This might be on suppose to show that the Flashpoint universe doesn't have the large amount of good quality heroes. However, Flashpoint's Cyborg and Batman is awesome! They're my two favorites so far other than our own Barry Allen and Reverse Flash. I think this deserves a 5 out of 5. It's a really good introduction first issue!

  • 4.5 out of 5 - Good, but a little too much with the flashbacks.

  • 4 out of 5 - I don't know, but issue #2 didn't read as well as I hoped. The best part was between Barry Allen and Batman and having that story continued. However, throwing in Deathstroke, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Travis guy really broke up the story flow of the main Flashpoint comics.

  • 5 out of 5 - Excellent! Wow, finally a comic that makes me anxiety to read the next issue!

  • 4.5 out of 5 - Excellent backstory and character exploration of Emperor Aquaman. This is a must read as a companion to the main Flashpoint issues. The only thing I disliked was how confusing it was to keep the flashbacks and present story straight as I read the comic the first time.

  • 4.5 out of 5 - I actually enjoyed this comic. I wasn't expecting to, but this was a much better comic than Deathstroke's appearance in Flashpoint #2. I'm interested in seeing what occurs with this Deathstroke.

  • 4.5 out of 5 - Must read companion to Flashpoint issues. This comic makes me wish that Aquaman and Wonder Woman actually did get married and stayed together. I thought they really made a nice couple. Of course, this comic spells out the true masterminds behind the wars between their societies.

  • 3.5 out of 5 - Wow, what a quick read. It has some good points, but could of been told inside another comic.

  • Wooww excellent! They fixed the problems of storytelling that issue #2 had. Flashpoint is getting better and better by the issue! 4.5 out of 5

  • Great series that keeps getting better.

  • Wow, very unexpected issue. 4 out of 5. Going strong!

  • I actually enjoyed this comic. It appears other didn't, but I became pretty interested in the Resistance team themselves. This issue is what got me onboard. Of course the ending was unexpected. Next issue I hope is good.

  • Full of action, didn't disappoint. Though I feel I know how the next issue will turnout....well I mean who's gonna save Booster Gold from Doomsday hehe.

  • Totally different from what I was expecting. Next issue is even better.

  • 4 out of 5 - A really interesting look at Abin and Sinestro in Flashpoint world. I liked it.

  • 4 out of 5 - I read this after already reading Lois Lane and the Resistance, so this wasn't my first introduction to the Resistance team led by Grifter. Either way, this was an excellent backstory of the Resistance characters on what they were doing before meeting up with Grifter and later Lois. The majority of this issue is devoted to Canterbury Cricket's origin, which is interesting along with the characters of the Resistance meeting and listening to it.

  • 3 out of 5 - I love reading about the Reverse Flash and this issue started out good. However, it ended up being weak mainly due to lack of more content. This issue is more like a continuation of issue #8 of The Flash series, of Reverse Flash's origin story. This issue tells exactly what Reverse Flash attempted to do to change history to take his original revenge on Barry in the universe that Barry's mother is dead. The biggest thing I disliked was the artwork though. Just not what I liked. If it wasn't for the character and writing, I would of skipped it altogether.

  • 4.5 out of 5 - Unexpected events happen, but another great issue. It's all coming to an end in one more issue!

  • 4 out of 5 - Excellent issue leading into the main Flashpoint issues. It just seems to leave a gap of a few panels between this end and where Aquaman and Wonder Woman ends up in her issue and the main Flashpoint #4.

  • Interesting and good, but still not as good as Emperor Aquaman miniseries. Still a must read.

  • 4 out of 5 - This issue was really good, especially the last few pages. I actually said "What the Hell!" out loud. Wow, killer issue, excited to see Abin in the final Flashpoint issue. He better be there I hope.

  • I really enjoyed watching Wonder Woman discover what's been done in her name. Learning about Hyde more was interesting too. Good lead up to the final Flashpoint issue, the only question left is about Lois Lane herself.

  • 4 out of 5 - Good read. Unexpected ending, but does raise questions about the new Swamp Thing series. It took me a while to realize that. Good issue though.

  • The first time I read this, I liked it but felt like it just ended too soon. I dunno, but looking at it now, it's better. You just gotta get familiar with the Swampy John world is all lol.

  • I recall enjoying this issue better than the first. Still, the issue 3 is the best I think.

  • I thought this was an unexpected good comic. Sinclair is one interesting character.

  • I also thought this was a good issue, and actually like Subject One as a child instead of the young man he is in the final issue.

  • Not as good as the first two issues, but it explains what happened to Subject One after he was freed by Cyborg/Flash/Batman from the main Flashpoint series. Sinclair shows up too. Unexpected end.

  • Traci 13 is an interesting character and magic user. I hope she shows up in the new 52 as someone similar to this version, not the Superman version. Good introduction issue.

  • Best issue out of the three. 4.5 out of 5!

  • 4 out of 5

  • Awesome! Flashpoint of the Future! 5 out of 5

  • Great! 4.5 out of 5!

  • 5 out of 5! The best ever! This issue connects straight into Flashpoint #5, how Kid Flash links up and helps out The Flash! Must read!

  • 4.5 out of 5 - Totally unexpected. Everything I thought would happen didn't completely. I wonder if they're gonna explain how Booster Gold got from this issue to the new 52 series.

  • 5 out of 5 - Woowww what an awesome ride, but so many unanswered questions left behind. This issue was simply amazing, and sooo good. We see what actually caused Flashpoint and how everything is fixed and changed. Totally unexpected. Lots of questions to be asked. Wow!

  • 4 out of 5 - This is really a good beginning of a new series and revamp of the DC Universe. I liked the majority of the issue until Hal Jordan had to just be a total jerk. Also, Superman seems to be a bit of a jerk too. They're all kinda immature capture Batman of course. Hopefully the characters will become more likable in the next issue.

  • 4.5 out of 5 - Killer issue, better overall than Justice League #1, likely the best Superman, Clark Kent, and Lex characterizations in decades.

  • Solid comic I think overall, but not really my taste. It's good if you don't mind reading about teenagers abusing their lives with drugs and other bad behavior. It kinda makes you glad when they end up getting killed XD The next issue should prove interesting to tell us what's really going on. It's on the side of horror story.

  • My first Avengelyne comic. Pretty good, should get even better as it goes on. I just dislike some of the art, especially the design of this teen girl that Heaven took in. Otherwise, good.

  • Pretty interesting comic. It improves by the end of the first issue. Looking forward to more.
