Well, how I always looked at the 52 verse is that multiple universes were pushed together and that's what we have now. The stuff that happened in Batman previously still happened over the long time it did, but now they only remember it happening within the past 5 years. Like, it actually happened over lets say 10 or 15 years, but when the different universes were merged together to create the 52 universe, the 'apparent timeline' became 5 years, though in actuality it was longer. Or at least that's how I look at it, less confusing that way...

So I just finished Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. I won't go into details because I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't read it and happens to read this, but it was amazing. I even shed a few tears at the end. :)

Dick is pretty smart. I'd say, as others have said, he's smarter than the other Robins but not quite smarter than Bruce just yet. Many people say that Tim is a better detective than Dick but I don't quite agree with that. To me, I see it as Tim being a new age detective where Dick is more of an old school detective. They are both great detectives, just two completely different styles of detective.

Tim is much more analytical and plan-oriented with his approach to things where as Dick tends to follow the clues wherever they take him and uses his gut and intuition. That being said, whenever he's been part of a team, we can see him put the analytical part of his mind to use and he becomes much more plan oriented when part of a team, which is why he's such a great leader.

Hello! :) I'm new to Marvel but I'm a big reader of DC. I am interested in getting a start on Marvel, looking to read the big names as well as some smaller ones. Which currently running series are the best at the moment? Where would be a good place to jump in to them? Also looking to check out some of the best past arcs :)

I'm planning on reading Joss Whedon's run with Astonishing X-Men since I'm a huge fan of his work. I also have and have read the old Secret Wars Comics, both Secret Wars and Secret Wars II although it was a little while ago since I last read them. I still remember Spidey getting the Black suit when I first read it when I was little. Although I haven't read much of Marvel I am fairly knowledgeable about the bigger characters.
