Krisis's Collected Editions
The omnibuses and trade paperbacks on my bookshelf.
The omnibuses and trade paperbacks on my bookshelf.
I bought issue #3 on a whim on a road trip and was entranced by Whedon's perfectly toned take on the team - particularly, the Kitty/Emma dynamic. My love for comics was rekindled. (Incidentally, it was issue #3 of original adjectiveless X-Men that got me hooked.)
This makes a little more sense if you have read a book about Genosha since 1994
I had to do some major Googling to understand who the wrinkled chick in the safari outfit was. Ten years is a long time in comics!
Possibly the most beautiful interiors ever in an X-Men ongoing series.
Felt like the epic battle you would have before cleaning up your GI Joes - full of carnage, light on plot.
Must add the 1987 TPB edition that I own.
Don't overspend on this TPB - keep an eye on eBay long enough and you can nab it for less than the cover price.
Kinda crap. Also, hugely under-utilized Mr. Sinister. But, primarily, crap.
Absolute tripe.
Subtly strong.
So incredibly terrible, I can't believe I spent time (and money, ugh) tracking this down.
With all the amazing covers in this run of issues they chose that awkward Alan Davis tossoff? Blech.
Actually not a bad Jamie Braddock story.
Presently one of the five rarest X-Men TPBs.
Plot was a little circuitous, but I still liked it a lot.
One of my favorites from the 400s of Uncanny.
Loved it.
Pretty horrible - good thing Morrison put them out of their misery afterward.
What an ugly version of Kitty.
I'm sure this moved more than your average amount of issues on cover art alone.
I hated this so much. Jason Aaron writes a lame, overly-wordy Wolverine.
I love Daken, but this was awful - terrible art, terrible writing.
