Top 20 Favorite Avengers

A list of my favorite Avenger characters. This not a list of my favorite characters that have been Avengers. This is a list of character that I like being in the Avengers. Characters like Thing and Wolverine belong to different teams so I do not think of them as Avengers. There are several core Avengers in this list, and a few fringe members. Personally, I would like to see these 20 broken down into two squads and lead by Tony Stark and Black Widow.

Notable exceptions: Avengers such as Hulk or Thor have always seemed bigger than any team. Cap America has never done anything for me.

  • Founding Member. My favorite Avenger hands-down. Without Iron Man there are no Avengers.

  • Founding Member and one of the best minds in the Marvel Universe.

  • Also a founding member.

  • The backbone of the Avengers.

  • Essentially a Green Arrow knock off, but definitely a Avenger mainstay over the years.

  • Superspy with taser-like "widow's bite" wrist blasts among other paraphernalia.

  • Former villian turned good, Wonder Man and the Vision share a unique history.

  • The hexing sister of Quicksilver, love interest of Vision, and destroyer of mutant abilities everywhere.

  • A speedster character that has several mutant connections since his pop is Magneto.

  • More in control than her cousin and very easy on the eyes.

  • This may sound odd, but I've always considered Beast an Avenger. I think the Avengers did more to define his character than his earlier appearances in X-Men.

  • Ability to change into any energy in the electromagnetic spectrum.

  • Cosmic powerhouse and all around swell guy.

  • Spider-man's amazing friend.

  • Bulletproof and can lift 25 tons.

  • X-51 is the swiss army knife version of Vision.

  • Cat-like reflexes, super strength, detective, and mother.

  • Flight and mental link to his pet sidekick Redwing.

  • Super strength, super speed, flight, and cosmic blasts.

  • Raptor armor and amulet grants Darkhawk several abilities. Such as creating force blasts, generating energy shields, flight, enhanced strength, and enhanced vision.
