So basically the Uncanny Avengers with Beast instead of Wolverine?

I like that Wolverine's on the team right now because he's so central to the story that's going on with Apocalypse, but I've actually been thinking pretty much the same thing. Maybe they can switch them after the next arc. That would actually be kind of perfect.

Yeah, it seems like the kind of team that could potentially switch members, as long as it keeps a decent balance of Avengers and X-Men.

I'd be O.K. with Beast.

@v_scarlotte_rose: I think if it was that same team, but with the Beast instead of Wolverine, they could have just called it the Avengers, which, to me, it basically is.

@oldnightcrawler: I think with Wolverine and Beast both being Avengers, you could maybe have called it that anyway. Especially as pretty much any hero can join the main team if deemed worthy.

I suppose Beast being more of a classic member of the Avengers than Wolverine gets some extra points though.

I agree with the story perspective. I think we all agree that Wolverine is way overused, so when I was making these lists I purposely didn't double book any characters. Beast makes so much sense for this team. But I'm seriously enjoying Rememder's run, so this list is not a critique to his roster.

@knighthood: Beast would really make the team feel more like the Avengers than Wolverine does in this case. And the team doesn't have even one scientist on it! I think that might be a first for the Avengers; they usually have at least two or three.

I haven't picked up the last few issues of Avengers because I just got tired of it, but I'm really digging his New Avengers. I guess because of the Illuminati style stories, it makes sense that most of the characters are on other teams in this case, although that sort of thing doesn't bother me too much as long as the stories are good.

@oldnightcrawler: I've been reading the Avengers, and I think I'm the only person that enjoys it more than New Avengers. I guess I just like to see new characters get a little more of the spotlight.

@knighthood: I read the first 13 issues, and while I did like the new Hyperion, and his friendship with Thor especially, I didn't feel like any of the cast got any real focus. After 13 issues of Avengers I figured I should have had some reason to be interested in at least some of the members of this huge, all-star team, but I didn't. I don't know what people like about this book, but as an Avengers book it's a fail. For me, anyway.

@oldnightcrawler: I've thought to drop it a time or two as well. I'm going to stick around through the event and see what happens.

@knighthood: I probabl would have stuck it out a bit longer out of curiosity, had it not been time to prune the pull list; there definitely were issues I enjoyed more than others (especially 12 and 13), but too little out of too many for me to justify hanging on.I would be disappointed, but Uncanny and New Avengers are better than most Avengers comics have been in years, so that's fine.
