Just another theory to be honest, with the lastest disregard of continuity that we have from marvel could there be a mass ressurection that will cause a new marvel era. We have Jean Grey aka Phoenix Collecting all the parts of herself, We have Hope the Mutant messiah collecting new mutants after HOM, We've Had Madelyne Pryor Return With Necromantic Sorcery at her disposal and We have Wanda Trying to Repower the mutants, Are these four Characters Destined to start a new world, After the losses Bastion caused the dwindling of the Mutant Nation to near Exinction, is Marvel Preparing to Reboot, by causing a Mass Ressurection of all Dead Mutants, are characters that were thought lost going to make a comeback? with this train of thought what new possibilities could this bring? but also what Terrors As some of there greatest Adversaries have been dead too. Hmmmmm food for thought perhaps.

It's a thought worth thinking, Though they pushed the mass resurrection thing with both Necrosha and Chaos War and either really panned out that way. I wouldn't mind even it would probably be cheaply executed just due to the fact that I might get some I miss back out the deal. For my mind the Dark Phoenix's " return " was best played in Iron Age, I would hope the upcoming could have the same entertaining level of writing as that did. It seems if anything what they are setting the readers for is the return of the Fear Lords, or at least D'Spayre as was shown at the end of Fear Itself and Spider-Island. I guess we really won't know until we cross that bridge but your idea is very plausible.

Potentially? I would personally guess it will be more selective resurrections? I guess it depends you know? I think the idea at Marvel for a while was that they were watering down their brand, as in their characters? So they sought to rectify this by eliminating the fluff and focusing on characters, especially popular ones? Try and make each character more popular and exploit exploit. However trying to put so much focus on some characters can change them...  turns away long term fans and unless the quality of stories is amazing, you won't pick up many new fans permanently.

So I think Marvel needs a good balance. That means keeping some characters alive, bringing some back and not killing some, and taking some hits whilst building up some quality stories and hopefully when that consistency gets to a point fans will start showing loyalty and casual fans more interest in investing long term.

Great thread!!

@REBOOTCATEXE: Cool thanks for the reply :D well im thinking these 4 have a major part to play anyway.

@SC: Thankies for the response!  Well it could be mass marvel cross over like the good old days and they could just get all these immense powerful beings to merge there powers and magic ect to cause a mass reboot and ressurect like everyone that died in the MU that way they can like use characters that have been missing for like years looool at least it will give them a more creative edge to write something new instead of regergitate central which is what there doing now loool

I don't know what the powers that be at Marvel are thinking. They can't be bringing everyone back - but at the same time, there are maybe a few unanswered questions that have been left that way for too long. I really feel they dropped the ball with Hope - and as for Wanda, wth?

I am intrigued, but a little jaded. Still in for the ride though.

@lykopis:  Same here im craving some old school style when they were epic but it never quite lives up to it lately, but who knows they might suprise us positively for a change looool

They're probably bringing back mutants because they realized how much of a useful plot devise that is for giving new characters powers.

Its a good idea! I hope it kinda works out that way. My only fear is all the books Marvel is canceling will counteract a lot of resurrections.

The theory Im hoping for.....................Is that when the Phoenix returns (with whoever it commands)....................there might be a huge loss of life and the resurrections after?!?!

I think Marvel should follow DC by getting a whole new creative staff dropping Ultimate Marvel and start everything from square 1 cause something drastic needs to be done

@joshmightbe:  Well im with you on the drastic part looool im craving some decent writers looool

I've said a few times if Marvel does a reboot (of any kind) I will completely stop reading everything they put out. Marvel needs to become more creative and take all the crap they have right now and make the best out of it. I'm getting really tired of them seeing how well DC events do, then pretty much doing just a little bit different.

@hydrabob: I'm not saying do it exactly the same as DC but something has to be done about the current state of Marvel

Posted by hydrabob--defunct

@joshmightbe: Yeah, they need to learn how to do good writing and recognize who they're good artists are. A start from square one would be a big help to them, because they're continuity is all screwed up and it's difficult to keep track of all the stuff going on, but if they do, then they are going to have to accept that people are going to jump ship, because why go with the clone when you can have the real thing and DC is the real thing right now.

@hydrabob: Sometimes the Clone is better, im only referring to Madelyne Pryor though looool :P

@hydrabob: As a counter point many DC fans promised to jump ship with their reboot but many of those same people are now singing its praises, every time there's a major change there are always going to complain but a lot of them will keep reading

@joshmightbe: That's a valid point and maybe if Marvel does reboot I will give them a shot, but I'm not mad that they are rebooting. I'm mad that they would be just doing what they have seen be successful and putting in the effort to make do with what they have.

@hydrabob: honestly I'd be happy with a reset to before Disassembled and work from there

A mass ressurection is certainly possible. I haven't been reading Children's Crusade but i have seen the preview for #8 which at first sight looks significant.

I will say though that i'm taking the preview with a pinch of salt, since i don't want to believe that Marvel would reveal something as significant as this in a preview.

Issue #8 potential spoilers follow
