R18+ video games finally legal in Australia

You probably heard that a lot of games got banned in Australia, due to the lack of a 18+ rating. Well those days are hopefully behind now. At the beginning of the year, the R18+ rating for games was finally legalized (only a decade after the rest of the world). Shortly after, the first R rated game was announced; Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (namely the Wii U version). Since then there has been a steady trickle of R Rated games into shops, with more inbound and the rumours and promises of rereleases of previously banned/heavily censored games, such as Mortal Kombat and Left 4 Dead 2. No doubt other future games like The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt will be R18+ (unless stupid old politics decide to ban them again).
R rated games are now on all platforms except the 3DS and possibly the Mac. Hopefully parents and draconian politics realize that it's their fault if they buy their kid an R18+ game, not the makers of the game. Then again it's not the only flawed rating system; I can't really understand why American movies skips straight from PG to R with no M, and as a result the rest of the world must put up with dumbed down movies made to fit the PG-13 rating. In other news I anticipate Yathzee Crosshaw reviewing an R rated game.
