You should really read more Batman comics. Batman has loads of crazy tech in his cave. As for taking out Hulk, the team can use either a boomtube gauntlet or the Insider suit (or both) to beat Hulk.

To be fair, Solid Snake didn't have CQC in this first Metal Gear Solid game.

Exactly, he stopped using it after Big Boss betrayed FOXHOUND and didn't start again until MGS4. If he can beat Gray Fox with just CQB, imagine how good he is with CQC.

It's more of a retcon, the concept of CQC didn't even exist until MGS3, Snake saying he never used it was just a cheap way to fill plot holes in MGS. Lazy writing at it's finest.

Oh now come on. Saying MGS of all things has lazy writing? That game made me friggin cry.
