I wonder what other DC Villains will be featured in this version of the Suicide Squad. Also, who will play their superiors, Amanda Waller, King Faraday, and Rick Flagg.

I also wonder who Summer Glau will be playing. Possibly Sandra "Moonday" Hawke?

I'm speculating over the Black Canary thing. Laurel's mother was convinced Sarah was alive. Could she be the Black Canary? They already established that when they were little girls, the father bought Sarah an actual black canary as a pet.

Will Rickards and/or Haynes be replacing Collin Donnell as a member of the main cast since his character has been killed off? Will Collin Salmon stick around as Walter Steele? Will Manu Bennett and Celina Jade be given main cast status or continue to be listed as guest stars?

Ted Kord has already been mentioned in one episode. I guess it's a 50/50 chance over whether the writers decide it's a good idea to include other heroes in the series. For that matter, and a lot of us might like and/or not like this, what about an appearance by Maxwell Lord?

First of all, I want to point out that I didn't purposefully get up to watch this, but watched it because I was up. I went in trying not to expect much at all. You'd think with that attitude one would enjoy it more. Though it could have been worse, it was not even good. I'd say it's the worst DC Comics based cartoon since the Ruby-Spears Superman in the late 80's. That and everything before it, except the last two seasons of Super Friends, were god-awful. (Though I've never seen that era's Aquaman cartoon, but assume it meshes with the others nicely.) If I remember correctly, I'd even say Krypto the Superdog was more entertaining that this.

I'd like to go off on a tangent and comment on how regular 2-D animation is dying out. Disney announced a few years back they would make no more movies using that style. Though this saddens me as I prefer that kind, the CGI really didn't bother me, probably because I had become accustomed to it through GL:TAS.

And now the inevitable comparison to past shows on the DC Nation block: I remember I was hooked to Young Justice from the getgo. All season long, it would get better and better, but from the beginning, I knew it'd be something special. GL:TAS, on the other hand, I at first had no interest in and therefore didn't even watch an entire episode, but I started watching right after they defeated Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns, so I cant' really say how the premier would have effected me, but can say that it was good and got better and better at least from the point where I jumped in. Beware the Batman, however, may have been setting up for future episodes, but the first episode was basically trash and did not hook me at all. I'm certainly not going to try to get up on future Saturdays to watch this as I did with Young Justice. That said, I'm sure the quality of the stories will improve as they progress, they usually do.

And to those of you saying the DCAU had any weak points, I can't say I'd agree with you at all. It certainly got better in JLU, but the entire universe had solid stories, especially for the time. The Man-Bat episode one of you mentioned was so much better than the first episode of Beware the Batman.

And I hope anyone saying Young Justice wasn't any good is not serious. It may have been focused around a team of younger heroes, but prominently featured the JLA and had plot points equal to if not better quality than those in JLU. If you are serious, I'd say you're still pissed they cancelled JLU back in '06, much like many of us are over YJ and GL:TAS. Don't worry, I remained very upset over the cancellation of JLU for quite some time myself. The introduction of YJ is a big part of what helped me get over that.

As for the cancellation of YJ over toys, those figures didn't even look appealing. They were awkwardly sized and shaped, didn't appear to have any joints, etc. Quite simply, they didn't compare to the JLU figures. Quite frankly, I think the only way this series would have sold toys (I'm basing this on the assumption that many others are in the same situation as myself where we nearly went broke collecting JLU figures and therefore don't want to start another line.) is if they had continued their line off of the JLU line with the same style and stuff, just different packaging labeling, and several figures of characters who did not appear in JLU such as Icon, and even some re-molds of character who did appear in both but looked significantly different, like Vandal Savage. If that assumption is true no DC show's figures will sell well unless they revert to JLU style.

The voices in this show were fitting, in my opinion. On a completely unrelated note, there has yet to be another Batman cartoon on par with Batman: TAS.

I have said this before on other threads, but I heard somewhere (don't remember where but am sure I did) that this series would only use villains who had never before appeared in television animation. Has nobody else heard that? The inclusion of Simon Stagg seems to contradict that as he appeared in JL, but it's also true he isn't really being used as a villain. For that matter, if he appears, why can't Metamorpho make an appearnce? But since it's a cartoon that seems to focus on Batman, I find that highly unlikely. Though since Katana is prominently featured, maybe he, Black Lightning, Halo, Geo-Force, etc. will show up. I find the evolution of Michael Holt into Mister Terrific in this series only slightly more likely. Though I liked the last season of The Batman, a lot of people complained about the JLA members taking away from Batman.

Lastly, I had no idea Avengers Assemble had debuted. You mean it has?

I admit, I'm one of those people who never stray from the big two. Nothing from Dark Horse or Image ever appealed to me. Some of the stuff from IDW or Dynamite looks pretty good, but the last thing I need is to get more titles on my pull-list. And I don't even know of any other publishers.

The only one from the list that I read is Larfleeze. It wasn't great, but was pretty funny. X-Men and Batman/Superman seem pretty good. I may get the trades when they come out or something, but I'm not in a rush to get either. Especially at that price. Most of the books I get are DC Comics priced $2.99, with a couple $3.99 ones mixed in. As for Superman Unchained, I've never been that into Superman to read one of his solo books. The character is just too mainstream for my tastes.

@lilben42: I may be wrong by I don't think Alfred will be out in the field too often, but will hold a role more akin to his classic one. Though I do believe he will be portrayed as a very capable spy like he is in Geoff John's Batman: Earth One, which I really enjoyed by the way.

@justthatkid: I heard that no villains who have ever before appeared in television animation would appear. Ra's al Ghul has however appeared in Batman: TAS.

@onemoreposter: I think that's Humpty Dumpty

Who are the white gorilla and the robot guy in that poster?

I do believe there's more to the story than what he just described. It would be insanely foolish to give the entire plot in what is essentially a preview. No, I'm convinced the Trinity of Sin has a much bigger part to play in this event than is stated in this video. Maybe the new Question is behind the Secret Society of Supervillains. There has been some speculation as to who their leader is. Aside from some physical resemblance to Alfred Pennyworth, who was the Outsider ages ago, and some behavioral similarities to some version of the Joker (He keeps saying "Ha!") I got nothing. I'm sure the answer will be fascinating.

As for who the killer is, I think everyone is missing the single most obvious suspect because he hasn't joined the JLA yet. Dr. Arthur Light. The Silver Age JLA villain who I believe was killed by the Spectre for the crime of genocide (killing the last Martian, J'onn J'onzz) has been reimagined in the New 52 as an A.R.G.U.S. scientist who gains light-based powers while examining one of the Secret Society's devices and will soon join the JLA. However, he will now doubt return to his previous villainous ways, and what better way to manipulate such a change into the story than to have him go crazy in the midst of a battle.

As for who the victim is, it has to be a throw-away character. Many would go for Vibe or Simon Baz, but if either of them were killed it would be a real shame. They have too much potential. My guess is the New 52's new female Atom. It'd be easy to kill her off and bring the real Atom back. Based on what we learned about her in, I believe it was Justice League #20, this could be what they created her for.

Legion of Superheroes #23:

In this final issue, the Legion picks itself up after the brutal attack from the Fatal Five nearly destroyed civilization across the cosmos! While some Legionaires bury their dead, others fight for the future of the Legion against a society that now doesn’t trust them. Don’t miss surprises galore in this landmark issue drawn by Kevin Maguire as the true nature of the Legion is questioned—and the future of the DCU is changed in a way you’ll never expect!

The above is the solicit for the final issue of Legion of Superheroes. Is it possible that this 'change' they speak of is a reality altering event that deletes the Legion and replaces it with Justice League 3000? That would explain a lot. However, whatever they do, I'm sure the Legion will eventually be back. Though I myself am not particularly a LoSH fan, (primarily due to the fact that there are plenty of good comics taking place in present day) I recognize that the property has an extensive fanbase. DC would be crazy not to bring them back once they figure out how to properly write them.

The pre-Flashpoint DCU needs to come back. However, if and when this is done, someone will have to explain what aspects of the New 52 stories happened and what didn't. As such, the longer DC waits to undo the New 52 reboot, the more difficult it will get. I'm confident at least some of the reboot will one day be undone, but am afraid we may have to wait twenty years like between Crisis on Infinite Earths and Infinite Crisis, or maybe even longer.

I would say read New Guardians. It usually has a representative from each corps and has been a great read so far. However, starting with issue #21, it seems like these representatives may no longer be a part of the cast as it seems to focus on Kyle Rayner and the Templar Guardians. I certainly hope the previous cast members such as Arkillo, Munk, Saint Walker, etc return to the fold. However, only time will tell.
