@friskynesss: The old Crime Syndicate Owlman was the Earth-3 version of Bruce Wayne's brother Thomas Jr. Just like Ultraman was an Earth astronaut who gained powers on a space mission and Superwoman was really Lois Lane, the last of the Amazons. (She killed the rest.) Though their costumed personas mirror Earth-1 heroes. Their origins and true identities do not. I don't remember the stories behind Power Ring or Johnny Quick.

I would like to address the question of the Wasp's ethnicity, which seems to be attracting a lot of attention on this thread. I agree that all ethnicities should get near equal representation in the media and that the Avenger's franchise should follow that idea. I also agree that one's ethnicity is not a defining character trait. However, not because it is essential to her character, but because I believe that once a character is created, they are what they are, I never liked taking a character and changing their ethnicity. I'm not saying characters can't evolve, but that would involve changes to their character and not their ethnicity. Short of going and getting your skin bleached or something equally dramatic, which could work in a comic if executed correctly, but is completely unnecessary, it takes a retcon to change a character's race. And though, sometimes, if they are both neccessary and executed correctly, a retcon can be tolerable, but overall, I hate retcons. For example, the New 52 retconned basically everything. Now decades worth of continuity is worthless. Also some characters, such as Hawkman and the Legion of Superheroes, have been retconned way too much making it very difficult to determine what their history actually is. Back to the subject at hand, I appreciate equal representation of various races, but don't believe taking an existing white character and changing their ethnicity is the way to go. Though many pulishers have done this to many characters, such as DC recently did with Wonder Woman character Etta Candy as part of the New 52 reboot, there are other ways to include other ethnic groups. For example, DC around the time they began the New 52, introduced a new version of the Ray, who just happened to be Asian. True, I do want to know what happened to Ray Terrill. However, who's to say they can't co-exist, or something can happen to Terrill where his powers change and he therefore picks a new code name. There are any number of possibilities. However, the issue at hand here is that they are adapting from source material that we don't want them to stray too far from. Creating a new character would be devastating to many fans who want a certain Avenger to be seen on the big screen. Then it's not just their Avenger that is not there but all the other existing characters in the history of the series, which makes it seem like they'll never get to the character one wants. However, since it is the adaptation of source material that this movie is dealing with, I have to point out, though I don't agree with it, that for the longest time whenever the Avengers added a black member to their roster, it was because someone pointed out that the entire roster was caucasion. Don't believe me, look it up. It happened with the Falcon, Rage, and Triathlon. I don't like it when source material is changed, and many agree with me on that. I'm not saying each movie's story should follow a certain existing arc in the comics. I'm saying that the other aspects of the series should be maintained through translation to other media. I'd also like to point out that though that if you flipped the roles, though it would be pretty much the same thing, it would be received completely oppositely. If you took a character who did not belong to a minority whether it be racial or related to sexuality (is there a word for that?) and place him or her into one of those minorities, the writer is hailed as a brilliant visionary for being so inclusive, while if the writer had taken a character from on of the minorities and made him or her a straight, white, Christian, etc. character that writer would be scorned as a bigot. To comment on some of what others have posted, females cannot find out they are the biological parent of someone they did not know about because they would have had to carry and give birth to that child. Maybe the point is that they'll make a dumb story as to why the Wasp would suddenly be Asian, and they may. However, that would be Marvel trying to cash in on the cinematic image and would not be motivated by noble means. Lastly, I've always thought it didn't make sense for a character whose last name is van Dyne to be Asian. If they change her ethnicity to Asian are they going to change her name as well, or would they come up with some silly story as to why there's an Asian named van Dyne. LIke I said, I hate retcons.

Isn't the character he is pointing to in that picture O'Grady? Or did another Ant-Man take his place in the Secret Avengers after the launch of NOW? I haven't read any NOW stuff yet. Anyway, as insanely stupid as I believe it would be for Marvel to focus an Ant-Man movie around O'Grady, that character was known as the Irredeemable Ant-Man, and Pegg's previous roles may warrant him to play such a character. However, I don't think anyone, even the people who make movies, etc. that piss off the fans, would be dumb enough to focus the movie around O'Grady. It'll probably be Pym. That would be the safest bet. Though Pegg probably isn't in the movie at all, he may be a supporting character, but I predict he won't have the lead role. Anyway, I too have heard rumors of Nathan Fillion playing Pym, but I think he now looks a bit too old. Sorry, Fillion, love what you're doing.

@emperormeister734: I thought that was Wonder Woman too at first. But upon closer inspection, I realized it was actually her Amazon sister, Exorsitos, who has been part of Demon Knights since the beginning.

@vitalius: Suicide Squad is an Edge book. Isn't that doing well? I may be wrong. It seems like DC has abandoned the categorizing of their series into the families anyway as all the New 52 October solicits were released in one article and the November ones were released in three, one of which was everything related to Batman and/or Zero Year, another was everything related to Forever Evil, and the third was the remainder.

@mezmero: Ha ha! I see what you did there. It would be more obvious if you pressed the 'enter' key between verses, or even used commas.

Breaking Bad? I feel like I've heard that name before. Is that one of those shows on HBO, AMC, or Showtime? Honestly, I've never watched anything on any of those channels. I don't even know if I get them. And with all the shows I already like on more basic channels, I don't really have any interest in adding more shows. Also, I'm sorry, but I have no idea who this Brian Cranston fellow is. Mark Strong, however, I do remember from Green Lantern and Sherlock Holmes, and maybe a few others. What I'd like is a relatively unknown actor to play Lex, if they do feature him prominently, which I believe would be a mistake after making him the main villain in Superman, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, and Superman returns, as well as one of the main villains in Superman II. An example, before Man of Steel, I had never heard of Henry Cavill. (Now based on how many people are nominating this Cranston guy, I would not be surprised if most people, even, had heard of Cavill prior to that.) However, I had never seen him in anything before and really enjoyed that movie. I think Green Lantern would have had much better reception if they had cast an unknown. I neither greatly enjoyed that movie as I did Man of Steel, nor do I think that it is the garbage that many make it out to be.

And I'm sorry, but I'm getting irritated by this. People need to learn how to spell their homophones. (In some cases, you may have just missed a key, but in others that is obviously not the case.) TO is either the word before the base verb in the infinitive, (TO be) or where someone is going or went. (I am going TO the comic book store.) TOO is either a synonym for also, (I want some ice cream TOO.) or when there is an excessive amount of something. (I spent TOO much money on comic books.) And TWO is the number (One, TWO, three, four.) THEIR is the third person plural possessive pronoun. (Those are THEIR comic books.) THERE is a place (It's over THERE) or part of the term 'there is' or 'there are' which means something exists. (THERE is such a place as Atlantis.) THEY'RE is a contraction of the words 'they are', which I think is sufficiently self-explanatory. (THEY'RE the Justice League, the Worlds' Greatest Superheroes.) And for Christ's sake, there's no such thing as 'do to', it's DUE TO. Congratulations to the people on this thread who got that right. I find people saying that wrong on the internet all the time.

I collected the print version Batman Beyond Unlimited of the series that just ended. I plan on collecting Batman Beyond Universe, which I believe should collect these stories as well. I suppose the real downside of that is that you have to wait until a few weeks longer to read the stories than those who read them digitally. I can't really complain about a price difference of three cents. However, what I believe is the drawback of purchasing the digital chapter every week is the disappointing length of each digital chapter. If I were to spend ninety-nine cents every week, I'd want more than a a couple of pages, despite that fact that with print you're getting the same content for three cents more. It's all in how it's perceived by the mind. "Oh! I just paid for a few pages!" versus "I just finished a chapter in a story arc, which was only slightly shorter than a chapter in a New 52 story arc is, and there's a similarly-lengthed chapter of another story arc if I turn the page."

Of course my one experience so far with the digital copies of digital first DC series has been with the Arrow TV show comic. I got the first two 'issues' of that series for free when DC was doing some online promotion. I found that comic so pointless. It got so much hype from the publisher for a while about how the show plots continue in the comic, which will help you understand the show better and you don't want to miss it. However, all I found was TV Ollie reflecting on events that we already saw in the show. Completely pointless. I would not want to pay to continue reading that series. I'm sure since Batman Beyond is a piece about the imminent future of a universe created in a nineties cartoon TV show as opposed to a tie-in to a current show, it's much better than Arrow (the comic). However, that Arrow comic forever soured my opinion of digital first comics.

On a more related note, yes Superman Beyond seemed to be heading in a nice direction, but one thing I didn't like about it was how in every arc, the writer found it necessary to bring either Batman or the JLB to aid him. We already had a Batman Beyond comic and a Justice League Beyond Comic that included both Batman and Superman. If it's a Superman Beyond story, you're going to want to differentiate it from the other two. And let's not forget the Beyond Origins stories. i found the Warhawk one absolutely fascinating. I believe the others were Aquagirl and Micron.

My opinion is that Arrow is a very poor choice to spin a DC Comics television universe out of, as this Oliver Queen is a very different character than his mainstream DCU counterpart. This is not the Green Arrow that would be a member of the Justice League. They changed a lot about the character to make the show good. And it works as a self-contained universe. However, if they were to create a shared universe about DC Comics characters, I'd want the real Green Arrow.

After looking up the name Isabel Rochev in the wiki on this website, I realized that I was indeed familiar with the character, just didn't remember her ever being given a real name or her threat ever being defeated. I believe I collected that whole Brightest Day Green Arrow series. I remember Ollie was banished from Star City and was living as a fugitive (for killing Prometheus) in the star-shaped forest that the life Entity grew for Swamp Thing in the area that was devastated by Prometheus' device in Cry for Justice. I remember he had some new love interest who worked in a soup kitchen or something and that he had teamed up with a guy calling himself Sir Lancelot. I remember him confronting Rochev, who revealed that she had had an affair with Ollie's father when she was younger and lived in the U.S.S.R. And then she had some lady assassin fight Green Arrow, who barely got away. However, I can't remember that plotline being resolved. I do however remember some tie in with the main Brightest Day series at the end as well as Lancelot realizing who he really was. But was the whole 'The Queen' plotline ever resolved?

Anyway, some website I got to somehow said Rochev in the TV series will be a high-ranking executive with Stellmoor Industries. Isn't that the company that took over Queen's in the current New 52 Green Arrow comics by Lemire? Does that name mean anything pre-New 52?

I love all the cosmic stuff. Green Lantern is what go me into that so of course I'd collect any title in that family. I was skeptical about Larfleeze but it's actually turning out pretty fun. However, I'm not sure any corps other than the Green has what it takes to hold a continuous series for long. It would be much easier to come up with stories, and either leave space for other types of series or give each color corps a time to shine if they did do a Tales of the Corps anthology series that switched focus between the six other corps from arc to arc. I think the fans would find that much more fresh than picking up an issue of each colored corps' book each month.

And of course I thoroughly enjoyed Threshold and wish it were staying around. I would say the problem with that was all the characters (as far as my knowledge goes) except Blue Beetle and Lady Styx were either A) brand new (Ember, Jediah Caul, Pamiera Syn), B) reimaginations of characters from alternate futures or universes (Star Ranger, T'om T'omorra, Captain K'Rot), or C) dead pre-New 52 (Star Hawkins, Lonar). However, Tony Bedard's 2009 R.E.B.E.L.S. series which did include Vril Dox, Adam Strange, Captain Comet, Starfire, Tigorr, etc. also sold quite poorly apparently. Maybe the problem with Threshold was that the premise for its first story arc was not fresh and that arc continued for too long. Granted the reason it continued so long was that the Hunted arc wasn't that straightforward. However, the general public would have no way of knowing that unless they picked it up.

The aforementioned R.E.B.E.L.S series, I admit I was not into at the time it was being published. However, having loved Jim Starlin's Rann/Thanagar: Holy War and discovering that many of those same characters were featured in the book, I picked up the trades and when I found out that they cancelled the publication of the final collected volume, I hunted down the issues that would have been included online. It really was a great series and the whole storyline of L.E.G.I.O.N being set up on Rann with peace made between Rann, Thanagar, Tamaran, etc. is definitely in my top two favorite pre New-52 plotlines I would have liked to have seen followed up on. The other was in Justice Society of America where Alan Scott was ruler of a magical city on the dark side of the moon and Jay Garrick was elected mayor of a small town and the JSA grew to include like forty members.

Anyway, this is the first I've heard of the Sinestro Corps getting their own series so I have no idea if this had been announced or speculated before or if Matt Kindt is writing it. Nor have I heard anything about any Corps being wiped out after Lights Out. However, I'd like to offer my opinion that if they do include Sinestro in this series it would be extremely disrespectful to how Geoff Johns wrapped up his GL run. Whatwith someone in the future claiming that after killing the Guardians, Sinestro was never seen or heard from again. However, DC seems to already be rearing for a retcon as Sinestro seems to be prominently featured in the upcoming Forever Evil event. So since they'd be dissing Johns' wrap-up anyway, they might as well bring him back into his corps (which he freed from the Sciencells and left in the charge of Arkillo in Green Lantern #20) however if they have some way to feature him in Forever Evil without the disrespect, then I'd guess they'd leave him out of the Sinestro Corps book if such a book does in fact happen.

@sinestro_gl: I too wonder about Diggle's introduction into the New 52 GA comic. Jax and Naomi sort of just appeared at the beginning. Then they brought in Fyff later. There are plenty of ways they could bring Diggle in as well, but hopefully with a different approach than they took with Fyff.

@jorgevy: If that is the case, based on the news of the Suicide Squad, my guess would be Amanda Waller. She did appear in the Green Lantern movie portrayed by Angela Bassett. And up until that movie and the New 52 she was physically quite "big".

@bigboi100000: Can you give me some context here. I can only guess what you're trying to say. Is that the name of the character Summer Glau will be playing? Name does not sound familiar.
