Comics I`d like to make for DC, but shouldn`t. Part 1.

Hopefully wont. Unless they decide to act more kindly. Which isn`t gonna happen.

So, my previous post was about me telling what comics I`d want to make for MARVEL. But wont, because they wouldn`t be fair to me. And haven`t been, with other creators, either. Same for DC. But, these are the comics I`d wanna make, starring their characters.

Obviously, doesn`t happen in the "New" 52.

DC 80-page giants.

A 80-issue limited series. Each ish, 80 pages. Depending in for how many issues would be published in a year, I could draw all the pencil art myself. But, I would probably let others make stories for this too.

Issue 1: Gotham is the narrator in this story, which follows a few peoples lifes in Gotham city, for one night. Also has every hero operating in Gotham city, and a few villains in chameo roles.

Issue 2: Bulleteer has a few adventures.

Issue 3: Deadman fights against Gentleman ghost. Etrigan the demon does something else. And so does Spectre. And Phantom Stranger.

Issue 4: Manhattan- and Golden guardian team up to fight against a new menace who can control urban legends.

Issue 5: Worlds finest`s. Takes a new outlook on the duo formed by Batman and superman, and why it`s not their sole right to be its only members. Also has heroes like Booster gold, Captain Marvel/Billy Batson, Wonder woman, Bulleteer, Steel, Batwing and many others.

Issue 6: Various super pets fight against Ultra humanite and Gorilla Grodd.

Issue 7: The current seven soldiers of victory (Zatanna, Manhattan guardian, Klarion, Shining knight, Bulleteer, Frankenstein and Mr. Miracle III/Shilo Norman) save an entire city from complete destruction, separately, without even knowing that they`ve worked together.

Issues 8-9: Metal men fight against Brainiac with other robot heroes. Also has other robot villains.

Issue 10: Plastic man, woozy Winks, Iris and Elongegated man team up, to fight against Funky Flashman and Clayface. Depending in whether EM is alive or not, this is either an untold story or happens in the present.

Issues 11-15: Shilo Norman escapes from traps you never expected him to escape from. Also has Master jailer and Darkseid as antagonists.

Issue 16: Wonder woman!

Issue 17: Krona vs. Metron! An untold story, that happened billions of years ago.

Issue 18: A DC/MARVEL-crossover. Don`t know what characters to use.

Issues 19-20: Hawk and Dove!

Issues 21-22: Mind-grabber-kid/-man wants to become a big shot superhero.

Issue 23: GL-corps vs. Solaris, the most evil sentient sun ever!

Issue 24: Martian Manhunter as a secret investigator. Metamorpho vs. Dr. Alchemy. The first Vigilante vs. a strange menace.

Issue 25: The Rogues have an ordinary week.

Issue 26-27: JLAs all over the world vs. a gigantintinormous threat.

Issue 28: Vigilantes 1 and 2 and Jonah Hex in a decades crossing, interconnecting adventure.

Issue 29-30: Bulleteer saves the world.

Issues 31-33: Steel, Mr. Miracle III, Tammy Fox, Manhattan guardian, John Stewart, Vixen, Cyborg, Vykin the black, Crimson avenger II, 4-D, Bumblebee and other black heroes vs. Black manta, some skinheads, resurrected Blue Ice and Harvey Dent of universe...I don`t remember what one. But, he`s that Harvey who is SUPERpowerful and pretty evil.

Issue 34: Hawk and Dove! Again!

Issues 35-37: The Megaheroes from JLA issue had a little (from their point of view) adventure 500,000 years ago. In these issues, it`s shared.

Issues 38-41: More DC/MARVEL-crossovers!

Issue 42: A JSA adventure.

Gonna be concluded some other time.

Happy vineversary to me! Namely kfhrfdu_89_76k!

So, today it has been a year since I joined the Vine. Huzzaah! It has been nice and awesome to be a part of this community, and I find it comforting that I can "talk" to almost anyone, and mostly have no bile spit to my direction. I like the fact that it`s pretty easy to do something noteworthy here. I find it amazing that I`m ranked (by the computer-system) #368 of 117,931! Seriously, that must be some kinda mistake. I feel happy because I have comrades here, to who I talk to pretty often. I feel proud that I`ve got the chance to be a part of a few community-lists ( more Viners should participate to those, by the way ). All in all, I`ve enjoyed my time here, and I want to thank everyone who has made me enjoy my time here. No matter how briefly they made me enjoy it. These persons are, for example:

The Poet, Billy Batson, Sora Thekey, Power herc (I had just one conversation with him, but he`s a nice guy, so I included him in here), Mikemaluk (who I don`t know at all, but who is an awesome artist), JLoneblackheart (who is nicer than his name implies), primepower53, Darkchris (who has replied to few of my comments, .Mistress Redhead., KillerZ, Icarusflies, Revamp, Impersonator, rest of my followers, Silkcuts, Emperor Gonzo Noir, Avenging X-bolt, Ragdollpurps, cbishop, Deadcool, CykoJimmy, CATPANAXE, Green_Tea_Light (check out his reviews), LP, Darkmount1, aztek_the_lost, Liberty, Armiv2, The Mighty Monarch, xerox_kitty teoP_ehT...

I should thank everyone. But I`m too lazy, so, sorry about that.

During my time here, I`ve:

Got 45536 points (11, 179 of them are wiki points).

Written 21 reviews.

Made 16 lists.

A tribute to John Severin. Or...A few words about a legend.

Many comic-makers have died during the past year. Moebius, Harvey Pekar, Sheldon Moldoff, Jerry Robinson, Dwayne McDuffie, Gene Colan...But also John Severin.

John Severin was a guy who drew mostly Cracked, Hulk, Rawhide kid, western, war and horror-stories. Well, he inked Hulk, but his inking style was pretty personal looking. Besides, inking is still drawing, no matter what some people say.

I became familiar with his work when I read, guess what, a few of Hulk-stories inked by him (collected to Essential Hulk #3, by the way). His style stood out for me. But I hadn`t heard or read of him before (or maybe I have, but have forgotten that), and I thought that he was a great artist who hadn`t been appreciated enough. Since, you know, I hadn`t noticed that he was appreciated by fans. As usually, I was wrong. But I didn`t find THAT out until later. Later on, I stumbled on to some other Hulks by him and co (they are cool too). But, I didn`t search for other stories made by him, `cause I`m an idiot.

The next time I noticed his work, was when I read a story illustrated entirely (or maybe there was some other inker) by him, in reprinted material of Creepy # 6. In that story, his style was even better. And still I didn`t search for more stories by him.

Then I found out that he made some cool Nick Fury stories, that I still don`t have. But I`ll get those ones eventually.

Then I found out that he`s dead.

I thought of this news as a sad one. Not so much, that I started to cry, but sad, anyhow. An artist whose work I like, but from who I hadn`t read enough stories from, is dead.

Story of my life.

To be honest, I never thought that I would get to meet him. I just felt that it was cool that someone that influential is still alive, far, far away there in the USA.

But everyone has to die some day. Or night. A few weeks ago, that time was for him. And I feel sad for the fact that John Severin has died. That`s the best tribute that I can give for him.

The story of my user name.

It was the day when I joined CV. I needed to write a user name. I tried up many, and then I got tired of it, because computer didn`t approve any of them. Then, just because I was mad, I hit the key boards keys, not caring what I would write to the screen. And then, whatyouknow, the computer approved it.

And that, little lifeforms, is why I have username, which is pretty unique, and difficult to write, pronounce and remember. Sometimes I think, that I shouldn`t have made a decision so rash, but I`m pretty fond of my username now, and don`t wanna change it. But, if the prize is right...

Then again, I would feel a little guilty, for abandoning my username. So, don`t give me a prize. Or money/other valuables.

How to create a superheroes rogues gallery. Part 2.

(Edited 21.9.2017.)

https://comicvine.gamespot.com/profile/kfhrfdu_89_76k/blog/how-to-create-a-superheroes-rogues-gallery-part-1/75556/

Time for more education.

STEP 4:

When there are so many great villains out there. Joker, Magneto, Dr. Doom, Zoom...And if a villain is great, this villain gets much time in comics. That means, that the villain will be overused.

That is exactly what you have to avoid. No matter how much you would like some villain, there just needs to be a limit to a villains appearances. If you don`t know, when a villain could or should appear, here are some rules (edit: suggestions actually):

-If there`s an evil plot, which would fit perfectly, or at least really well, to the villain, make this villain execute the plan. That means, that the villain will appear.

(I meant, if you come up with a plot that would fit a certain crook.)

-If it is realistic, that the villain would make an appearance, you should make the villain make an appearance.

-If the story fits to the villain, the villain can make an appearance.

-If none of those three rules don`t apply, the villain really doesn`t have to make an appearance. But if you want to write a joke or a chameo appearance of the villain, you can bend the rules. But not always.

(Well, that`s a rule I follow. But you´re not me, so maybe it doesn`t matter.)

But why shouldn`t you use the same villain(s) all the time? Because you can`t bore the audience.

(Depends.)

Of course some want to see the villain story after story, but those persons shouldn`t be listened.

(I totally agree.)

Of course there can be year long storylines, in what the villain is one of the main characters of the story, but those shouldn`t be done all the time.

So, step 4: Don`t use the same villains all the time.

STEP 5:

Speaking of boring the audience ( and probably yourself, also ), isn`t it a little boring to see those same villains, all the time? Well maybe not. But if it is, gyess what? You don`t have to use villains at all! Indeed, you don`t. If you feel like it, you can instead, focuse more to the hero. What kind of a person this hero is? What does this hero do, when not fighting against villains? What kind of milkshake does the hero like? Or does this hero like milkshakes at all? Or, well, whatever pops in to your mind! If it suits the character, go for it!

Also, let`s not forget, that there are also regular criminals out there.

(Unless the world of your story isn`t even remotely like our world. But I was writing this series solely to advice those who wanna write Marvel- and DC-stuff.)

You know, those that exist in our world too. The ones with no superpowers, no super plans, and who the heroes defeat easily. Or sometimes, not so easily. There should be stories about hero or heroes fighting against those criminals too. After all, it`s realistic, and different. Well, it actually wasn`t all that different in the 30-50`s, when alot of the heroes fought against alot of crooks, but these days it`s different. You can also make those issues fun, or make the criminals tough opponents.

(Why "or"? Why not have it all?)

The main thing is, that the story is good. Better yet, that the story is friggin awesome!

(Well yeah, absolutely. I`m still fed up with any other kinda stories.
Lukewarm stories can be awesome too. Last time I mention that, promise.)

I mean, look at (for example) JMS run on Amazing Spider-man ( Honestly, I love it. Well, all that I`ve read of it. ). Not so many classic villains, still great. Besides, when there hasn`t been alot of those classic villains around, their appearances feel even sweeter. If made properly. But anyway...

Step 5: Sometimes, don`t use villains at all.

(Hm. I wrote smarter than I remembered.)

STEP 6:

At this point you may be wondering, if there`s something to else to remember, when creating a rogues gallery. Yes, there is. Sorry.

Remember when I told you not to use the same villains too much. Probably. But you also mustn`t use the villains too little a bit. You see, it`s not good for a villain (or any character) to appear only once every fife years. A good rule to remember, is that a rogue should appear at least once every year. If the villain is not dead, that is. You may ask why. Let me answer.

If a villain doesn`t appear enough, the villain will have had too much to do for all those years. That means, that there will be too much unused material. That is such waste. But, if it has already been a while, since a villain appeared, you should explain what this villain has been doing.

It is very difficult to make every villain appear every year, if there is too many rogues. Again, another good reason to not have a small army of villains.

(By this I meant once every 12 issues. But more useful is "once every year in the storys time". And it may take 50 issues to tell about one single year. Or 365. Or 3650...?)

Step 6: Don`t use the villains too little.

You may sigh of relief, because this is the last one of these articles, and there isn`t anything more to remember.

Kidding!!!!

Now, for some really evil music...

Ooops. Picked the wrong video. Well, no matter. It is a great song. (Damn bugs. Anyway, it`s Quuens (Neverheard, right?) Don`t stop me now.) I mean, the way Freddy Mercury sings...I can`t understand how he was able to sing like that! Seriously, he was epic. And naturally, rest of the band was also really great.

To be concluded...

A blogpost about superhero-comics being dark. Part 3.

Here we go again.

Now I`m gonna wonder, have superhero-comics always tried to be as dark as possible?

It may sound strange to you, but it might be that they have.

Exhibit number 1:

The (20`s?) 30`s- year 1955.

In the early stories of the good-doing Superman, he might kill criminals! Yes, that`s true. Batman would also do this. And Phantom. And many others. Why? Because these comics tried to be as dark as possible. And even if most heroes would stop killing, that wouldn`t stop the villains. They killed, robbed money, beat people up... All that, because these comics tried to be as dark as possible. But then they stopped.

Exhibit number 2:

The years 1955-1969.

Because of the stuff like books "Seduction of the innocent", and the fact that the (DC) heroes and villains now resided in another universe, superhero-comics became less darker. Joker wouldn`t kill anymore. Lex Luthor would rob banks. Villains like Catman, Calendar man and many others appeared. None of them killed anyone. And neither did the criminals (well, if they did, it would be off-panel). It was all, more like, silly robbery stories. Meaning that, super-comics wouldn`t be dark. Right? No. They would be. As dark as possible.

For example, Joker, Two-face and the other jolly fellows, would try to kill their enemies. Sometimes. There would be deaths. But they were accidents, and natural deaths. There would also be love-drama, sibling-rivalry and stuff like that. Yes, indeed. Even if comics weren`t supposed to be dark, they were as dark as possible. And in my mind, they were dark enough.

Especially in the 60`s. Spider-man was dark, from the very first adventure (his origin) he ever had. And it stayed that way, for a while. When you really look at Spideys first adventures, they`re a little depressing. Sure he would make jokes, but he`d also have angst about his aunts wellcare, him being a "lousy"person, his bad luck etc. But eventually, it all got more cheerful. That`s a good thing. So, once again, comics were dark by the standards of the 60`s.

Exhibit number 3:

The 70`s-80`s.

Many of the villains and anti-heroes were killing people. And more characters died in general. There were the incidents with Green goblin, Dock ock, Dark phoenix... There also were rasistic themes, insanity and things like that involved. All in all, super-comics were darker.

Exhibit number 4:

All the rest.

Dark knight returns. Sin city. Moon knight. Teenage mutant ninja turtles. Civil war. Cloak and Dagger. Punisher and Wolverine became mega-hits.

Super-comics are, these days, dark. Well, not all of them ( Tiny titans, for example, aren`t). There`s almost no limit to the darkness. You could probably make a story about a villain who uses light as a weapon, raping a superheroes wife. Hey, wait...It has already been done!

The darkness of the stories can actually be so dark, that it goes to ridiculous heights. Green arrow, who use to use arrows that have boxing gloves on them, might kill someone with one of his arrows. Robin II, has become a villain red hood (Well, he was, in the previous DC-continuity. Is he a villain in the current one, also?). Riddler said to himself, "I`ve been robbing stuff for a while now, so why not change my style, and kill a few guys?". Luckily, this wasn`t permanent.

Of course all comics aren`t ridiculously dark, but there are those comics that go too far. Why?

Because humanrace loves destruction. It loves murder. It loves evil. No matter what huimans say, they really don`t want to see funny comics, that have a hint of darkness. They don`t want nicely done, slightly dark comics. No. They want to see a villain, who use to be silly, becoming a b*****d, who chops off the heads of heroes with a meat ax. They want to see blood spattered. They want to see their greatest heroes have sex in the pages of comics. They want to see stupid megaevents in what unliked heroes and villains get killed, that could`ve been done with a smaller scale, and better. They want to see all this. They want to make these stories. Because they have the chance for that. And they aren`t going to throw it away, and not use it. Even if it would be for the better. Why? Because they are idiots, and don`t want things to get better.

Exhibition number 5:

The purse of Ms. zacher.

Uups. That`s connected to a murder case. Sorry.

So, why are super-comics dark? Because they can be.
