But wasn't Ock spider man in age of ultron? And isn't AU the future? So maybe dock just wipes peter's ghost out of his conscience. real peter wasn't in the AU issue.

Here's hoping for Miguel O'Hara though

Ock was Spidey in the Superior Spider-Man Age of Ultron tie in. Peter was Spidey in Bendis's actual Age of Ultron comic. Yes, it makes no sense.

And Age of Ultron happens now, not in the future.

They explained it as Spock pretending to be Peter.

Yeah, unconvincingly. He changes costume between the issues (in AoU he has Pete's paler blue, without the split toes of SSM), and why would he drop this pretense in his own book but not Bendis's?

According to JLA/AVENGERS Batman admitted that in the long run Cap would beat him out of sheer stamina

Yeah, that's the first thing I thought of. If Batman thinks Cap wins, then Cap wins.

Regardless of what happens with Superior Spider-Man, Pete will ultimately be Spidey again. Might take a while, though.

Marvel's solicitations for this particular ish ("it will make you so angry!") don't fill me with much optimism for the short term.

@lmothander:

Let me tell you how this all ends (subjective spoiler)... Wolverine and Invisible woman go back in time and kill Pym, thus no Ultron.

I suspect you might be right: things are so screwed up they'll need a hard reset like that to make things believable going forward.

But no Ultron means he never builds the Vision.

Which means Wanda doesn't marry him.

Which means they have no imaginary kids.

Which means Wanda doesn't go crazy.

Which means House of M doesn't happen.

Which means the whole current Marvel universe is a lie.

I hope Bendis at least tries to make sense of it...

Can't help but feel the New 52 has lost a lot of steam, and that DC have missed a significant opportunity. Most of the books (with honorable exceptions) seem to be reverting to generic, broad, and not too bright stories--like much of Marvel in the 1990s. This is what Lobdell does. Superman should get the cream of writing talent in all books, and that's not Scott Lobdell.

I'm curious how Snyder does in the new "Unchained" series--to work, Supes needs a lighter touch than Batman. The key to the character is the joy he takes in Earth and humanity. A surprising number of writers miss this.

I continue to love this book: such life and joy in these pages. Seriously, a lot of people in the industry would do well to read FF and take notes, both for art and writing.

My Marvel pick up list is slimming down (and DC is down to Batman and the Legion). This is at the top of the list.

I agree, this is a top-quality story, and possibly Bendis's high-water mark with Marvel so far.

My favorite story is not actually in the House of M trade: it's Ed Brubaker's Captain America issue following Cap's life if he never got frozen. That was just great.

Todd can already see Spawn on the big screen. And if he listens very careful he can probably hear Martin Sheen quietly weeping, too.

The last movie was at Spawn's peak. Right now I doubt enough people care to make it viable. Although I'm probably biased, as Spawn has always bored me.

What is this weird inability Bendis has to write Emma Frost's dialogue? "Wow, Eric, the old you could have balled these puppies into a pinball--" He always gets her wrong. He got her wrong when she showed up in the Avengers, he got her wrong in All New X-Men.

She's smart, cold, high-class, and bitchy. It's not hard. "Wow you could have balled those puppies" is not it.
