You are not HIM!!?? 0

Barbara Gordon is now an elderly person and commissioner of Gotham city. She still has some heroics left in her. However her combat with Scarecrow in her earlier Batgirl days has left some undesirable recidue of the fear gas in her. A little girl is kidnapped and only Barbara can solve the mystery but her fear of heights due to her fear gas ailment keeps coming in her way. She seeks our young Batman's help but expresses that Terry can never be Him but somehow does trust him in this endeavor. Now...

An event here and an event there 0

Okay we have a new villain introduced- the Mysterio who kills kingpin. While this is picking up a thread, there is this Johnny Storm lying in Spidey's house; there is a lady and her daughter trying to shoplift a store with their mysterious bombshell powers. Again a mix of lot of events with none of them leading anywhere.Art: So-so. I don't like it that much. Although the art of the town is awesome but the people don't look that great. Especially Peter & Gwen. They look more like Manga charac...

Interesting and a hopeful start 0

The story opens with an interesting situation in New York and there is Peter working in a regular burger place. It is very nice to see a very common situation that we see very often. There is a mysterious character's appearance in this issue who seems to punish bad guys. Gwen Stacy is part of Spidey's life and she seem to know all his secrets. There are very simple but a lot number of events tossed in together. This issue on the whole is interesting and we see a villain's beginning. 3.5 stars as...

Serious, Tactical and Brutal 0

It is pretty evident that the Spider-Man we see here is quite different although tends to maintain similar behavioral patterns as that of Peter Parker. The "different" is seen when he gives it back as good to the boomerang during a fight or just gets on an offensive mode and kicks beetle's butt during the heist of the sinister six. The similar behavior is when he jumps to prevent a policeman being hit by the boomerang's weapon. This is probably Peter's "brain patterns" at work. It could be an in...

Intresting story but fast and forced ending 0

[Spoilers Below: you have been warned]It is very interesting to note how a super villain is trying to avoid killing any innocents and imposing the same on his super-villain team while on the other hand the doc ock as "spider-man" doesn't care much about causing pain to the one he is fighting or maybe even the innocents. He is breaking jaws and maybe some bones without regret! What seems a little forced is doc ock getting emotional at the end and realizing how "tragic" life is and feel the same pa...

Unbelievably Mind Blowing 0

NO SPOILERS REVIEW!!I just do not have words to describe this comic novel. I may need too much words to put forth my review about this book.. but then I do not want to spoil anything for the readers. So let me try....StoryAmazingly written and I am not surprised one bit getting such a brilliant story telling coming from none other than Greg Rucka and perfectly carried in the illustration by J.H. Williams III. More on the art later below. The story is completely captivating. It just absorbs the re...

Interesting Father-Vigilante Take. Clean and Standalone read! 0

NO SPOILERS REVIEW!This book actually surprised me. Probably because I was not expecting much from this book. The StoryVery clean and fresh story and what I really liked was it can be really read as a standalone story without much need of any background information or history of Robins - Only thing that is needed to know before reading this book is that Batman had a thing with Talia Al Ghul long time ago and Damian Wayne is their son. Now, this book is all about "what happened to Damian during hi...

Clear Cut story with a WOW moment that makes sense! 0

Art - I am speechless - Jim Lee. Period!Story (contains spoilers):A very good flowing story that kept me on the edge. Finally the villain's true colors and roots are revealed. Geoff Johns seems to have done some good research on Indian mythological demons called the Asuras and Pretas (pronounced as Praythaas)... Graves has the justice league, who in the wake of Trevor's death, pitted against their worst nightmares and a very unexpected revelation brings things to a halt. The super team is now at...

A Class 1 Movie! 0

It had not been very long after the Marvel studios movie "Thor" had come by and there was this new X-Men First Class released. I feel Marvel studios is doing a fantastic job bringing their most popular comic characters and teams on to the silver screen.Let me give a brief about X-Men and their evolution details before I begin talking about this movie. The story of X-Men, per marvel comics, begin with the growing number of mutants in the world, the normal humans' reaction towards them and some of...

I must be more intimidating than you! 0

Art & FizzThe art is very good. Carol Danvers looks very sexy and cool. And I love the suit. She is simply looking fantastic and isn't like one of those overly sexed up super heroine for fan service...The couple of introductory videos that comes up in AR on iPad/iPhone by Kelly Sue DeConnick are cool. The video on the development of art of Captain Marvel at the last page is simply Marvel-lous! I simply loved it - probably since I was seeing AR for the first time on my iPad... but still a coo...

Do Not Buy 0

The 1 and 2 were cool in terms of art. The story seemed nice to read while WW was more aggressive. However I could not avoid saying it was bit Cartoonish.. More like Archie comics... 3 is terrible! Art is bad not consistent with first two, story and dialogues become too SILLY!! Not worth 99 cents. Spend it elsewhere. BTW I'm a great DC n WW fan. DC has let me down with this issue!!!...

Shocking revelations about the Amazons!! 0

ArtFirstly it is extremely good to know that Cliff Chiang is back. Phew! I was getting a bit worried since the last 2 issues went down the drain. All my complaints about terrible looks of Diana has been addressed finely in this issue. Wonder Woman looks go back to the first 4 issues that we were really used to and had began loving it... Chiang's pencilling is brilliantly consistent in every damn panel of every damn comic issue!PlotThe story continues where the last issue left off and it really m...

Azzarello take it to the next level! 0

Artkick ass costume!I simply love the sword-and-shield-and-hairs-tied-up-back look that Cliff have brought back starting with the very fist page! The symbols on chest and the arms resemble the golden age style - as Hephaestus states "...I find your choices ARCHAIC."Strangely enough Diana sports a gun in this issue but she doesn't really use it. Again the cover art fails to connect with the plot - although I love the cover art.Hermes and Diana are heading into hell that is setup by Hades just lik...

Batgirl continues to disover her past while taking on Grotesque 0

I am really glad I picked this issue up. I am now more confident than ever on Gail Simone's writing and the electrifying and strikingly consistent art by the 3 pencillers. This issue and the previous one - I read it, and then I viewed it, and I viewed it.... The art is totally satisfying to my art hungry taste buds!!!Lets get into what's in there: there is this new villain Grotesque whose secret is not yet revealed - however Batgirl further investigates about the mystery on what happened after s...

Doors opened to Barbara's personal life 0

- Art -> I did not like the cover art much -BUT- as soon as I flipped through first few pages, I was pleasantly surprised. Batgirl just comes out of the book and feels as though the action is right there front of me. I'm liking the costume even more due to this issue.- Good Character Build up: In this issue Simone brings about softer and more human side of Barbara. I really like the buddy time she has with Dinah and nice to know that a superhero too needs inspiration at times.- Grotesque: the...

the sloppiness continued..!! 0

The story continues to look aimless atleast at this point of time.I wont write much here as there is hardly anything going onthe cover art continues to be meaningless (just like the last one and in fact some more number of predecessor issues).Surprisingly wonder woman kills one of those unearthly creatures that was trying to reach out to Zola (who were actually following her since issue Wonder Woman #1. This happens in those few pages with absolutely no words but just some actions shown. What a ...

things get greeky with messy art 0

Art - Especially Diana & London could have been more beautiful!!When I turn the first page I get these questions: where did wonder woman go? who is this lady with blue hairs and some long gown? OH MY GOD? IT IS HER!!! what the heck happened to ART??????? then I turn back and see the cover only to find that CLIFF CHIANG IS not the artist anymore from this issue!!!I just could not accept the art on these pages after having a happy 4 issues of Cliff's art! I took a gulp and continued patiently ...

needed a little more here 0

While the previous issue left us with a question who and where is the fifth world killer, this issue introduces a new character - the Silver Banshee!! However this issue still does not clarify. Here Kara struggles to communicate with the earth people, who feels she is some kind of alien threat and has all the weapons pointed at her. There is this one strange friend she makes, who surprisingly talks kryptonian!!! Kara has no option but to trust her and gets along only to find out that she is not re...

Supergirl Victorious, Characters come out of pages! 0

This issue is a nice and interesting read. Somehow each supergirl issue so far has been very nice & stress relieving read for me. I like the way the story follows structurally. I mean to say one scene connect to the other easily, clearly and in a straight forward manner. It continues to be son in this issue as well. There is this introduction of world killers here which has an interesting connection to Krypton.Mind boggling battle leaving supergirl both victorious and cute at the end :)Art so...

One of Coolest GL Compilations 0

This review is about the latest Secret Origin book with Ryan Reynolds cover. One of the greatest GL compilations coming straight from Geoff Johns. This book is a great collectible value for both regular GL readers and newcomers alike. The book begins with a one pager introduction by Ryan Reynolds about what he knew about GL before venturing into acting in the movie and what he learned during the making. How was his experience working with one of industry's greatest Geoff Johns. Then there are total...

Bane, the basher 0

Story - so, so. Bane's introduction is nice. We will get to know a thing or two about him and his (challenging) opponents. The art is nice except for the super-huge guy (wont tell you who) who is shown to be terribly blown up due to the drug. Well, although it sounds logical for him and also for that matter Bane to be larger in size than normal humans but this I found little too huge to digest as a reader. The part where Bane breaks his back at the beginning, has his both hands completely cuppin...

Now thats what I am talking about 0

Now this digital chapter was very interesting and the art too was very nice. Although I did not like Bruce Wayne one bit the way he looks, the content, that is the story is awesome, intriguing and surprisingly feels longer than the earlier digital chapters. Strangely different Red Robin here I must say encounters Harley Quinn who is involved in some recruitmen in Arkham City and gets a tip or two from Bruce at the end.I can easily lend my 4 stars to this issue!!! Nicely done. I am content with t...

Riddle me this 0

Okay it is just a teeny weeny snapshot of Riddler who is now in Arkham city and is all set to take control of it by himself. But the art - once again disappointing (as its not Carlos D'Anda's) but better than previous 2 issues. However the story snippet is a bit interesting. Hence I will go with 3 stars for this one....

new character Jenna 0

The awful Batman ArtNew character introduced - Jenna. Not sure who this is and where this particular portion affects the game/ big picture of the storyline. However this portion is interesting but the art is awful!!! Again not Carlos D'Anda's art. I dont know if the artist even has any idea on who Batman is or how he should really look!! Man he looks worse than children's cartoon clown!!! (p.s. I am a great Batman fan and have been following the character since years)...

Valuable Collection 0

The Good -> Paul Dini & Carlos D'Anda, The Art & ExtrasThis is a great collection as the art of Carlos D'Anda is truly AWESOME.Paul Dini has a strange way of having you glued to the book and throw in surprises at times. This does have the same theme, colors, suits and clothes very accurate to what is in the game (I have the X-Box version)Compared to the earlier "Arkham Asylum" comic book, this is 1000 times better in overall quality of delivery. The locales, the suits, the effects, vil...

Short and awkward art. Its not Carlos D' Anda's art here.. 0

I cant comment much on the story as it is too short due to it being a digital issue. This gives an idea about how Hugo Strange is turning individuals at power into Tyger commandos who are ultimately meant to control Arkham city under strange's administration. The art in the panels are totally awkward and not so worth even as a digital comic buy.Interior art is not Carlos D'Anda's - mind you. His art is only on the cover. And this is just 4 sheets (8 pages) worth of comic. It is better if you have i...

Adventurous, Intriguing! Enter: new psycho villain 0

Here is what you will get out of this issue:There is something interesting revealed about the clothing that Supergirl wears in this issue to begin with. You will know that Kara can get really angry at times and can be intelligent at the same time! She escapes her kryptonite-entrapment alright, but it is her wit that really gets her out of the space ship of Tycho at the end."The Brain" whom Kara fought in the last issue is now somehow recovered as also the ship from last fight between Kara and the ...

just before top cow rebirth (frm new top cow reader) 0

Amazing cover art. Interior art is excellent with great attention to detail. Some panels have extremely COOL art. Really loving Tom Raney's art.As a new reader, I just read it I did not get much with the first few pages - although certain things were clear in the dialogues between Darkness & Witchblade. It begins with a situation where the universe is no longer there - and - you would know exactly why at the end of this issue.A 2 page spread showing 12 artifacts is awesome! Some important even...

Enlarged art & pages with bigger panels and a cool Phantom intro! 0

This book is just fantastic collection of first 8 stories of Gold Key seriesIt has enlarged cover with enhanced colors!!!!!!!! SWEET!!!The interior art is excellent. The pages have not only been recreated with rich glossy colors but also enlarged. This book is slightly more in both width and thickness compared to any regular hardcovers that come out these days. However the length is a bit shorter than regular HCs. It is also bit heavier.Unlike the other hardcovers, the art is there both on the du...

New, Stronger Batgirl. Enter: Gretel, Bruce Wayne, Babs Mom 0

Introduction of a new tough villain - Gretel! Sounds like a gr8 mystery with this one.On a personal front, we get to know a little bit about how Barbara got her leg & an introduction of Barbara's mother - who suprisingly looks very similar to Barbara with red hair and in some panels it is difficult to differentiate by faces! Although not too much is revealed about who her mother as yet. There is a mysterical number 338 with which Gretel seems to have association with -but at this time it is v...

Bullet Points Review: myth about "Clay" is truly shattered... 0

Story Highlights:The amazons are performing last rites for their fellow dead ones who were killed in the confusion that Strife had created in the last issue when she entered paradise island. Not sure why and what specifically Aleka is unhappy about.Diana is irritated being teased as "Clay" all the time. Per what everybody knows, Diana was born of clay as a boon to Hippolyta's prayers. However Strife is finding that a bit funny and Diana is not too comfortable with that. There is a shocking revela...

Bullet Points Revew: Wonder Woman Begins...here.. 0

From the last issue we were left at a point that Zola is bearing Zeus's child. There is introduction of Hera, Srife. The issue now throws some light on Zola's pregnancy and who wants her dead. This clears up the cloud on the events that took place in the very first issue.Wonder Woman & Hermes head back to Paradise Island to protect Zola. Origin of Wonder woman is revealed by Hermes to Zola and hence to the reader. The origin as told here remains that she is a child of clay as the fruit of Hip...

From a new Top Cow Reader 0

From #151 Issue CoverI had a little bit idea about Witchblade before and I wanted to jump in at some point into the story. I was primarily DC reader. I got myself this 151 and found it very interesting.Art is just really cool. I was getting the feel of raw personality of Sara Pezzini. Came to know that she was a cop but no more & now a private detective. The 2 page spread of top cow universe is really cool that comes along with The Darkness's commentary on how the new universe came to be..Sto...

Bullet Points Review: Sweet but Script not strong enough 0

Let me begin with the good points first: The Art is simply beautiful. Batgirl continues to look awesome just like on the cover. The flow of panels are great - completely eye catching. Love the first page with Batgirl on wheels!!!There is a situation where she saves a couple on the Christmas evening and they thank her that due to her they can go home to their kids. They give her a nice bear-hug...That point is very SWEEEET. I was touched here!Batgirl continues to be weak (mentally) even in this i...

Bullet Points Review: OWLS ARE NATURAL PREDATORS OF BATS!!! 0

This series I think is one of the best of New 52. With Scott Snyder's story getting better with every issue.Batman is on the hunt and hunts down different smuggling gangs of Gotham to know who the mystery "owl" man is and why did he try to kill him two days ago. When Bruce asks, Alfred says "Owls are Natural predators of Bats.."..that is a heavy statement.. from that point on, butterflies in my stomach!!!....Batman goes ahead with the investigation and discovers more about "Court of Owls" .. and ...

More clues about the "owl" symbol found.Once again, Batman's techy gadgets had me bowled over - Photogrammetric scanner in he city morgue - he can have the scanning done right at Batcave and have the results out in seconds! Well as they say, "a lady is involved" :)... I wont say much here. Do not want to spoil your read....Great art + Story. It is like a dream come true, for a Phantom fan especially, to have both story and art go hand in hand and click.
