@ Disclaimer: no disrespect intended. I think you're confusing the ovum with the calcified egg that I believe is being discussed. Sure, the ovum is referred to as an "egg cell" but it's not really relevant here.
All that proves is that the chicken is the only surviving species to have that protein. We already knew that the chicken's ancestor doesn't exist anymore.

@doordoor123: This is actually very simple. It must have been the egg. This conclusion is based on evolutionary science. The modern chicken must have descended from an egg laying precursory chicken-like ancestor. That bird laid an egg and the first chicken was born from that egg.
