My girlfriends really into this series, she dosent like reading them in comic format though so will likely be trades or on her new tablet i have for her christmas ^_^
I have unfortunately been on the recieving end of one of those Broney attacks, ranging from "you have no idea what you are talking about!" to, well i cant type it hear but lots of swears and personal insults. Good luck sir!
The Nolan universe version doesn't really seem fit for the world of the Justice League. It always had a reality base to it, and the Justice League at it's very base is fantastical. They built Gordon-Levitt as a different character in the previous films. Does anyone actually feel they would make a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie with a non-Bruce Wayne Batman? The Chris Evans thing worked because it was a different studio and playing an entirely different franchise.
Agreed, i just think you end up annoying more people with this than you attract, fans of Batman are never going to accept Black as Batman because in their minds it has to be Bruce or Dick. Anyone who dosent read comics are going to expect Bruce Wayne, someone else is just going to cause all kinds of confusion. Even if they do decide to disregard all the nolan stuff and just straight up call Gordon-Levitt Bruce Wayne, the fact he has been in a Batman movie already as someone totally different is really going to mess with people's heads.
Personally for me, i think hes a great actor, i think he is perfect in the role he played in the previous Batman movie but he does not look like Bruce Wayne, thats probably a weird reason to give but when i look at him i just dont see it.
Bring in Hugh Jackman and im sold, honestly he is the only person i can see as Wolverine now with the possible exception of young Clint Eastwood. Very interested to see how this turns out.
I did go through a lot of different emotions when the disney takeover happend but i realised two things, one, George Lucas hasnt made a good film in the series since Return of the Jedi and two, Disney bought over Marvel and aside from additional funding and some excellent movies, there hasnt been any really bad choices made. So yeah, im happy to see another three star wars movies, especially after the excellent clone wars tv show and the old republic mmo. I dont believe it would be good to make the movies yearly, why not give us the movies every 3 to 4 years and some animated shows or live action series in between? Id much rather watch a weekly bounty hunter show filmed in cgi featuring all of the different hunters (including boba fett) and what they got up to before and after the empire fell. The movies should be a special event, something that when it comes out, everyone takes notice, like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter are to many. I just get the feeling that if we get a movie a year it will lose what makes it special and we will get bored of it.
Great article Corey! I was actually talking about this with friends a few weeks ago, the moment we learned that the new Spiderman wouldnt be Parker. I think something really bad is going to happen to Peter, something involving Alpha and Reilly will come out of hiding to cover for him and hopefully after that get his own series. Story line wise, it would make sense for Parker to want someone to cover as Spiderman to hide the fact he and the webslinger are the same guy, if he for instance is hospital bound then if Spiderman vanished it would ring alarms out to those who know him.
I loved the "Deadpool is unimpressed" All new X Men cover, think i laughed for about 10 mins with it in my hands, lucky my comic book store know im easily amused and not just bat poo crazy lol.
