As a Canadian comic book collector I do enjoy seeing my country represented. However, there is very little love shown to us by our brothers south of the border. There's Alpha Flight, Wolverine, Deadpool, Captain Canuck, and Equinox just to name a few. But of those few, unless you know the characters' back story, you wouldn't even know they were Canadian. Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited about the JL United series with a Canadian superhero in Canada, but like DC Comics' Talon, I sincerely doubt that this character will last long or be utilized much in the series let alone in the DCU. I hope they consider another Alpha Flight series, and I really hope there is a Captain Canuck series that will gain some ground this year and keep running for some time.

There are local creators, and I do my best to support them, but they just aren't getting enough reach to maintain momentum, and the style of writing and art is very amateurish, a good reason for why they aren't doing so well. I'm just craving a comic book about a Canadian hero/villain/antihero with a Canadian taste to it.

Canada is a great market, so why aren't comic companies catering to this demographic? Everything comes down to cash flow.
