In the movies, he can curl a helicopter. So basing it off on this: https://www.t-nation.com/training/how-much-can-you-lift-wimp

He can deadlift 10k pounds. That's how much an elephant seal weighs.

So imagine a guy who is build like a 190lb guy with muscles and Central Nervous System so strong he can deadlift 10k pounds (estimated) and can move and react better than any Olympic athlete, boxer.. and fight better than an MMA fighter (athletically) and is a good a hand to hand combatant as Israeli Commandos...

He's defo holding back when fighting people lol. If he's pissed, he could punch an elephant and KILL IT! Dude is holding back in the movies for real... Or those guys he's kicking are REALLY dead. His kicks and punches are worse than grenades and rocket launchers. The whole impact and force... Wow. Means that he also has great control over his strength.

I put my money on New Gods

First Wave (Orion,Lightray,Big Barda, Bekka, Kalibak, Female Furies (New 52) , Steppenwolf, Fury) - Stalemate
I don't see how Orion and Lightray can't speed blitz + the reinforcements... New Gods are pretty powerful. Post PC and New 52 New Gods shouldn't be underrated IMO.
Thanos 5/10 and New Gods 5/10 First Wave

Second Wave(First Wave + Metron and Takion) - 5/10 for New Gods.
Once again, their combined might but this time with nigh omniscient Metron and a powerful Takion. Takion is kind of a pacifist... More or less 50/50 again. If just both, Thanos 7/10

Third Wave(Infinity Man) - 8/10
I don't know how normal Thanos can defeate Infinity Man in a majority of 10. With the help of the first two waves, should be in favour of New Gods. I'd like to know if there's anything Thanos can do to beat Infinity Man in most encounters. Just Infinity Man... still 8/10

Fourth+Fifth Wave(Highfather then Darkseid) - Set in New Genisis? Highfather stomps (even though he's a hippie)
Darkseid has been jobbered too much. He's on the level with Anti-Monitor this time but there's not even high-end feats of that kind (probably cus there's really no sense in destroying solar systems or galaxies in today's comic book stories). HE's a multiversal threat but that's it. I'm biased towards Kirby's New Gods so I'll say 7/10 for DS against Thanos.

She's not "Thor"

getting sick of writing about her! But there's redemption within this book. I'll wait until Aarons finishes this book and judge it by the end.

She's all Feminist PIS. Taking on Odin... PLEASE~~!!! Sure, he's pretty much always holding back but it was so dumb... poor writing and disrespecting lore & characters' history.

Getting better but a lot of annoyances still with Aarons' run

"The thread is flawed... Batman with Prep time could take down anyone. Because of the existance of artifacts like the cosmic cube, infinity gems, power batteries...etc. Don't think for a second that if Earth was about to be ate by Big G-man, and Batman knew way ahead of time... then if Reed can do it. Batman can. As for Doomsday, Batman borrows the Mother Box, and a Boom Tube and sends Doomsday into a black hole. Again.. with endless resources, and determination, Batman wins!! "

The BIGGEST reason why Batman and Superman can beat anyone is that they're too important. They're more than mere characters and people. Hate 'em or love em, they are the standard of things in comics. In power, importance, and intelligence, they are number 1 alongside Wonder Woman.

Batman is really an exception. With prep, he can beat anyone. It's not about a fight or war but the story and characters. IMO Morrison's run on Batman ultimately showed this. Also on Final Crisis, he showed the importance of Superman and his status of being the "God" of DC. Loved the way Morrison used such metaphors BTW.

With prep, he would beat anyone. He beat Darkseid for crying out loud... He didn't "die". He out-manoeuvred Darkseid in strategy. That's his best feat in terms of strategy, will, determination, and mental prowess. It doesn't matter that Thanos beat some master planner in the Marvel Universe... Batman will beat Thanos if he is given the time. It's more about the complexity of the arcs or stories that matter when it comes to feats of prep. And it matters how well written such a story is as well.

Given prep, Batman will achieve victory. I can't take "Batman w/ prep morals off VS ??? to death" too seriously because once Batman's morals are off, he's not Batman anymore. He loses Plot Induced Strength of Character and Story. Grant Morrison's run should be the proof of that.

Just about anything Marvel Herc related. His new series in particular. Thoughts?

Personally loving the new book. Love that part when he used a machine gun(?) against the Centaurs. We're finally seeing some character development lol!

@PowerHerc: Thanks! The more I thought about it, the more I realized that she (Isis) is practically perfect for him! She would respect his courage and willingness to help anyone in trouble, since she has similar traits. They both have that Mediterranean look going for them, he would respect her causes as well, and they can both handle some serious super lovin!

Yes, your're right. Good points. Plus Isis is beautiful.

@treehouseprom: ALSO, a new thought: Metron isn't shown with the other New Gods on Earth-51 in The Multiversity. Is it possible that Metron chose to continue acting as "watcher," and never bothered to slumber with his peers after Final Crisis? The more I think about it, the more it seems like Metron has always been full-on 100% NON-emanated METRON, even in the New 52! (There still has to be at least one Metron emanation that exists, though, since Nazi Superman had a version of the Mobius Chair in his Hall of Trophies... unless it really wasn't the Mobius Chair, of course. Or maybe it was simply an emanation ofjust the Mobius Chair? Or a second type of Mobius Chair? Or not even the Mobius Chair?)

Wow, great insight!

Bit late with the reply but seems like DS Wars are going that way. I like the plot n story so far but the individual issues have not exactly advanced the story or plot at all, which is a bummer. But what do you think will happen to Orion? He's my favorite New God and so far, he's been a cocky brat with too much power. If what was discussed in this forum is true, then shouldn't Nu52 Orion be like a REGEN of the old Orion? If that is true then I personally want there to be an epic journey for Orion similar in scale and quality to the mini-run by walter simmonson. But this time, he becomes his badass old self and gains the fury of the source.

I never understood FC or Multiversity, but I loved them anyways. I like reading people discuss Morrison's work, especially his epics. His style and writing will become stuff of legend literary importance in decades time.

What's this nonsense that THREE Ivory Kings killed LT?

Beyonders=Ivory Kings. There arent' just three Beyonders called Ivory Kings... And it took an army of them to kill LT. Unless they specifically said THREE Beyonders killed LT, then no... it took an army of them. It was implied that way.

I have heard of Demonbane. Seems like the most idiotic crap I've ever heard... Power just for the sake of power. Just sounds too ridiculous for anyone to take seriously. Who the hell thought it was a good idea? Dick measuring in a whole new level! I'd be surprised if it was any good.
