Hawkman instead of Hawkgirl and Captain Cold instead of Killer Frost. I would have preferred that tbh.

Ugh not another "not enough women !" rant. Anyways i would have preferred Captain Cold over killer frost. Having both captain marvel and black adam was stupid. Instead they could have had ztanna or Cassandra cain.

Well Starfire has a good chance of being one of the four DLC characters teased since she won in a poll.

1/4 of the roster is female, let's try to maintain perspective here;

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: 48 characters total 11 female (4/24 for Marvel's side)

Street Fighter 4's final roster was 39, 8 of them female

they even went to lengths to please the female crowd by screwing Flash fans out of a villain by putting Killer Frost in, they put Hawkgirl in over Hawkman (even though there is also another reason for that), and Harley Quinn is in this for crying out loud.

thats why Ed didnt include her either even though she won several polls apparently.

wrong. the comic has no bearing on whose playable in he game. its the exact opposite.

The thing about the Avengers team is that Jonathan Hickman said:

"One of the first things we all agreed on is that the roster should look more like the world. So far we've seen the biggest and most iconic characters, but as we reach issues #7 and #8, we'll see more new characters and characters we're reviving or recreating. Eventually there will be 24 characters. 12 will be either female or minority characters."

So a good way to make the team look like the world would be to be fairly even with the sexes. If it's not even 1/3 I'll not be best pleased.

@v_scarlotte_rose: Honestly I don't even expect or need it to be an even half. But 1/3 would be respectable. 1/4 is unacceptable.

I can't say I'm surprised, but that doesn't stop me being annoyed about it.

We've got a similar situation with the line-up in "Avengers". 24 slots available, so far 13 men, 5 women, so even if the next 6 are revealed to be women, it still won't be even.

Hopefully at least 3 of those 6 will be women.

Ed is actually teasing Krypto as being playable dlc. he really just needs to stop the trolling now. its not funny anymore.

also Hawkgirl is voiced by Jennifer Hale in the game so KF might be is well. Tara Strong is pulling double duty (giggity) so i dont see why Jen cant.

Well come on, we know she won't be in it... she's never in anything outside of comics. Ever. But reasons, well, she'd be Deathstroke's counterpart without being redundant (come on, who doesn't want to use someone with a style focusing on dual swords? That could be seriously badass), and there isn't really anyone on the hero side of things that fits the mercenary mold that Deathstroke brings to the villains. If she could be part of some Teen Titans DLC that would be great... but I'm 99.9% positive she'd be snubbed, so, whatever.

Fair enough. I don't know the full cast to be honest, and was pitching a strong female character. Yes I love her, but the point stands. Okay, why have Ravager then? Shes a great character, and she is, by definition, a she.

Ed Boon says its a popularity contest and they dont want to do redundant characters. Starfire was one of the winners of the dlc poll so we'll probably be seeing her. they basically gave Aquaman Mera's power set by allowing him the full power of the trident. Black Adam's ass only got in as a full character because he's a fave villain of Ed's fave hero Shazam and people were begging, its a similar situation with Sinestro (Hal's most well known archfoe). yeah, pretty f&*cking douchey. the DLC images are shadows and ed is a troll so they could just be placeholders to mislead people. hopefully we'll be seeing more females (AND MARTIAN MANHUNTER) soon in dlc.

@wildvine: We need fewer Bat characters, not more. There are plenty of other female characters not associated with Batman that could be used, honestly.
