Dinosaurs and ninjas in the same week.

Sky over the South Pacific. 1999

Clark flew enjoying the feel of wind rushing by when he noticed something soar past him. He stopped and looked back upon a prehistoric creature diving for fish. He looked on astonished as the pterodactyl pulled out a large fish before flying back to an island, "Oh I gotta see this."

Clark landed on the island and saw things thought to be extinct since long before man walked the Earth. He marveled at the creatures.

He had spent several hours wandering around taking pictures when he heard something breathing from the bushes, he turned to see a man who looked as if he'd been here alone for quite some time. He knelt down and asked, "Can I give you a hand?"

The man nodded, "Tom Faraday, my plane went down here around a week or so ago. How'd you get here?"

"I'm... Kal, and you wouldn't believe me if I told you."

Faraday stood up, "At this point I'd believe damn near anything."

Clark gave Faraday a shirt and a pair of pants to replace the tattered rags he was wearing." Hope they fit, didn't exactly come prepared for a dinosaur island get away."

Faraday came out from behind the tree, "That's what belts are for kid. Apparently this place is no stranger to crash landings, any chance you know how to put an engine block together?"

Clark shrugged, "I grew up working on tractor engines, how different could one for a boat be?"

Faraday looked over Clark's shoulder, "Time to get moving Kal. "

Clark suddenly noticed heavy breathing behind him and turned to see a pair of tyrannosaurs staring at them, "Yup."

The two men ran Clark putting forth great effort not to out run Faraday by much. As the two ran they jumped a small crevasse and a creature even larger than the T-rex snapped its jaws shut on Clark. There was a roar of pain as the beast tossed Clark away in a rain of blood and teeth fragments. Faraday stood amazed as Clark got up unscratched. Clark in frustration swatted the snout of the massive creature and caused it to fall back into the crevasse before noticing Faraday's gaping jaw. He sighed, "Well I guess there's no since in hiding it now."

As one of the tyrannosaurs crossed over he leapt into it driving it to the ground before knocking the creature out. The other attacked mouth first, Clark caught the gaping maw with a hand on top and bottom keeping it from closing its mouth and he swung it around and let it go sending it flying. He then turned to Faraday, "Now lets get to that boat."

Faraday was staring at the battle site, "What the hell are you?"

Clark gave him a grin, "Like I said, you wouldn't believe it if I told you."

As they arrived at Faraday's camp Clark turned to him, "I'll make you a deal, I fix your engine and get this boat sea worthy and you keep what happened back there just between us."

Faraday chuckled, "You have my word, not that anyone would believe it any way."

Clark smiled, "Deal."

Faraday watched as Clark quickly assembled the engine parts even fusing a few loose bits together with his bare hands then finished the boat with amazing speed. He looked over Clark's work, "You're a gifted man Kal."

Clark then put the boat in the water as Faraday hopped in, "You ready?"

Clark shook his head, "I have my own way home."

Faraday grinned, "Figured you might, well I owe you one kid. Hope to see you again some day under better conditions."

Clark waved as the boat took to the sea and went to gather his stuff. He tossed his bag over his shoulder and rose into the air giving the island a final look. He sighed over letting his secret slip but was relieved that he hadn't given his real name. He took off heading East hoping to be home by morning.
