Jon_Anon's Skyrim Characters: The Forsworn Guerilla Fighter

No Caption Provided

"This was our land. We were here first. Then the Nords came and put chains on us. Forbid us from worshipping our gods. Some of us refused to bow. We knew the old ways would lead us back to having a kingdom of our own."

Name: Galan Faolan

Race: Breton (All the Reachmen were Breton is if your making a Forsworn character it only makes sense)

Age: 26

Background:

Galan was only a boy when the Nords stormed Markarth, but he remembers. He remembers the halls running red with the blood of his clan, he remembers his neighbours screams as they burned in there beds and he remembers Ulfric Stormcloak putting his fathers head on a pike. His uncle, Madanach King of the Reach, couldn't stand to see the rest of his family put to death so in the chaos he had Galan and and the child's mother smuggled out of Markarth to Windhelm where they would set sail for Solstheim. Safe in the wilderness of Solstheim, Galan's mother raised him in the ways of the Reach, she taught him how to fight, how to hunt and to worship the Old Gods. Now after the death of his mother Galan has returned to Skyrim to reclaim the land of his birth and avenge the death of his father.

Gear:

As soon as the whole dragon BBQ at Helgen is done hightail it over to the Reach and get the Forsworn amour set, it's a must for this character and it's actually pretty good for low levels but eventually you'll get rid of it and start using the Armour of the Old Gods instead, while your at it your going to want to grab the Forsworn sword, axe, bow and maybe even staff if you want a good back up.There is ways to get these weapons without breaking character and killing other Forsworn, explore the ruins of the Reach and you will find them while looting, be quick and stealthy and just run for it if it get's hairy but if you really have to kill then you can incorporate in to your RP that ever since Madanach was imprisoned the Forsworn clans have fractured and began warring amongst themselves.

Once your comfortable with your build and went up a couple levels you should be looking to get Red Eagle's Bane and Red Eagle's Fury, these are twin ancient Forsworn swords that do fire damage and were used by Faolan Red Eagle so since this characters RP is a descendent of Faolan these are must haves. Other gear that fit's the RP as well as the play style are Predator's Grace, Savour's Hide and the Eye of Melka if you enjoy using the staff.

The Build:

Galan is a Forsworn guerilla fighter, he's fast, stealthy and brutal, he uses his surroundings and all his skills to his advantage.

-Major Skills-

  • One Handed: Forsworn are swift and agile in there attacks, when they close the distance they will ether be dual wielding sword and axe or sword and magic so One Handed is the right perk for the job.
  • Destruction: the Reachmen worship the Old Gods of the wild so many are taught how to control the elements, flame and frost will be your friend.
  • Sneak: The Forsworn are expert hunters, they will ether lure there pray in to traps or spring ambushes when they least expect it.

-Minor Skills-

  • Light Armour: Light armour is the way to go for this type of character, heavy armour slows you down and is to bulky for stealth.
  • Alchemy: The Forsworn are no healers and with only light armour your going to want to replenish that life fast and a good batch of herbs and potions should do the trick.
  • Archery: A must for every hunter is the bow, pick off your targets at range confusing the enemy before you rush in for the killing blow

Standing Stones:

Ether the Mage stone or the Thief stone are great choices to start with, both stealth and magic will be used a lot.

Stats:

Magic-2 Health-2 -Stamina-1 your going to want to concentrate on the health/magic, since the character is light and fast stamina wont be a problem

Combat:

As I said before Forsworn are hunters so they would stalk the enemy, keep at a distance and watch there movements once you know how many there is and where they all are use your surrounding environment to plan your insertion path, the Reach is a mountainous land so use the higher ground to your advantage as well as the rocks and crags for cover, once your happy use the bow to start picking enemies off, you should be able to take out one or two before they clock your position, once they do use your speed to start closing in on them while also blasting them with fire/ice spells, once you get in close swap to dual wielding swords or a sword and axe to swiftly and brutally take them down.

Role Play:

RPing a Forsworn character is pretty hard but also really fun, your going to be spending most of your time in the Reach and that place is FULL of pepole that just want to kill you and since killing them back would be breaking character you just have to run/sneak away from them.

Your first port of call is the Forsworn Conspiracy quest in Markarth, this will get your "uncle" out of jail who will give you the Armour of the Old Gods as well as provide you with Druadach Redoubt. This will be now be home base, you will sleep here at nights as well as store all your loot and use it's forge/enchanter ect, it's full of friendly Forsworn so it's well protected. You should also head to Blind Cliff Cave, there you will meet a Spirit Hag (Hagraven to you stinking Nords) called Melka, do as she asks and she will now become friendly, since Reachmen worship the Hagravens you will have to make a daily pilgrimage here with some Taproot to make an offering.

During the days you will spend all your time hunting animals for supplies and collecting herbs for alchemy (making sure you kill at least one Spriggan for a Taproot) and during the night you will do raids on any and all Stormcloak/Nord establishments in the Reach, killing everybody and taking as much loot as you can carry, the goal is building up to the sacking of Markarth. If you want a companion there are a few Bretons in Markarth that will follow you, Eola is an Old God worshipping Nightblade so she fits the role the best, just deck her out with some Forsworn armour and your good to go.

So this is one of my builds I use for Skyrim, I thought it would be nice to share as I find it pretty fun, I have a few others like the Goblin King and Jaghut Tyrant I may post so let me know in the comments, thanks for reading.
