@lmothander: Joker hasn't yet been retconned at all though...Snyder said in an interview after the last issue (I think, or at least during Endgame) that Joker is claiming he is this eternal monster under the bed and Batman doesn't believe him but is terrified it might be true...and considering what we've seen Joker go through, he either is immortal or this is going to be a fear-toxin nightmare from the first issue of Endgame.
TLDR: Snyder said it's up to people to believe Joker (immortal) or Batman (mortal), but a lot of sites have been running around as if it's definitive.
@captainmarvel4ever: He wasn't thrown under the bus, the Bat-family just took advantage of his kind-heartedness and basically back-stabbed him.
And for Gregg....I don't think Darkseid has been "sleeping" since JL Origins. In his Villains Month issue he ended up destroying dozens of Earths and Supermen, he's also conquered Earth 2 since Origins...I thought it was Kalibak kneeling at Damian's coffin, or the Omega/Chaos Cannon he later fired (a multiversal deathstar much?) and the "open your eyes" was more of a "epiphany" open your eyes rather than "coma"...So maybe Kalibak is the one behind the entire plan, rather than Darkseid himself?
Or this could take place post Green Lantern: Godhead and the climax of that could have Highfather using the Life Equation on Darkseid...etc etc #comics...
The series' broadcast was...b*****dized in the UK on CN and this would be SO GOOD.
So...please be kind WB...
Because the only other options I have are a UK PS4 and a PC with a blu ray drive but that ain't convenient. Unless my Blu Ray player is secretly multi-region.
Jetstream Sam, a guy who no augmentations (save his right arm from elbow down) took down a Metal Gear Ray and beat a peak-condition Armstrong (a guy whose entire body was swamped with nano-machines that could react on instinct to danger)...he was also skilled and fast enough to fight a peak-condition Raiden with his bare hands while Raiden had his HF Blade and still hold his own. For Sundowner it was a case of going toe-to-toe with Raiden and absolutely holding his own and being physically the strongest of the WoD. Monsoon is able to use his Lorentz Force enhanced exoskeleton/magnetic suit thingy to lift what seemed to be dozens of tons of vehicles or debris and then that giant pillar that was several stories high...he was also more than capable of holding his own against Raiden when he was essentially his version of Super Saiyan. MOnsoon....was easy :P
I know not everyone will agree with me but it is cool that so soon after Johns' run ends, Venditti seems to finding his own identity as the main charged with the GL corner of the DC Universe.
@aquahawk: After the destruction in this, a lot of people would probably prefer a more cerebral movie, that Luthor as the villain could bring about. It could be based on the Luthor meets Braniac for the first time episodes of STaS, setting it up for Braniac's ultimate villain role in MoS III. Anyone who suggests Darkseid is nuts. As much as the average movie goer would think he's a DC rip off of Thanos (nothing would annoy me more :P) he's got to have some cred restored and be a DCU villain, not a Superman one.
@inferiorego: Might pick it up again now. Half the time even if I know little about the writer's previous work, if they come across well in an interview it might make me buy an issue or two to see if I like it.Read the first couple of issues when DiDio was writing and it was serviceable, but didn't feel like it was going anywhere. Say what you will about the Rise/Wrath arcs (apart from GL #20) but they needed to take a page outta Geoff Johns' book and plot years in advance (he had Rise and Wrath plotted since the end of Blackest Night).
