I still find so much supprise when I tell them that Professor X and Magneto must have been inspired by Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.

Professor X has to be based on King with his "Dream" that Mutants and Humans can coexist just like King's "Dream" that Blacks and Whites cold coexist as equals.

Magneto has Malcolm X's philosophy of protecting his people "by any means necessary".

Both characters are a product of the turmoil of the times they were created in, and I think that makes them the fascinating and enduring characters we are still reading about today.

I vote for Michael Ironside. His voice acting for Darkseid in the Superman TAS and Justice League TAS was incredible!

Hearing "The Man in Black" and seeing that photo of Platt, the name Mr. Sinister jumped out in my addled brain. Though I would love a Jeremy Irons "Mr. Sinister" (and wouldn't he be the perfect Dr. Doom?!), I like Platt as an actor and couldn't believe it took me so long to recognize him in Year One. I don't know if he could pull the roll off physically, but his acting chops (and his voice acting as Hades) tell me he could pull it off theatricly. Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne comes to mind.  Though I do like seeing all the characters running around in the background , it does get a little distracting. Super Hero movies in the past have always set their world up so that the starring Super Hero is the only one in existence, so I like knowing they recognize that there is a "bigger world" that the main character is a part of. The recent Marvel movies have done a good job with that. I'm for quality over quantity in the end. I want to like and get to know the few characters I am watching.

The story was just sooooo boring. And as much potential as Kevin Spacey had for Lex, they wrote him as the carboard, two  dimensional, goon like they did for Gene Hackman. They just need to get Bruce Timm and his crew to remake the whole thing! Live action but they know how to make even Lex Luthor interesting!
And is it just me or do you think of Superman as a guy in his 40's? Routh just looks too young, I prefer a more "Alex Roth" look. Same with the colors for the costume. Let Batman be dark and gritty, I like my Superman in brighter colors, the guy is supposed to  be a beacon of light! Bruce Wayne can do all the brooding, let Clark be the guy who inspires everyone to be a better person and help thier fellow man whether they have superpowers or not!
There were some great scenes and I hate to dump all over the movie, but they really could have done a better job. Sam  Raimi got Spidey right because he kept Spidey Spidey!
