Easily my favourite villain of all time. I grew up enjoying his antics on the 90's Batman Animated series voiced by Mark Hamill (who is easily the best voice actor to ever voice Joker and possibly the best Joker overall). I also enjoyed Joker in his two film appearances by Jack Nicholas and Heath Ledger but preferred Ledgers performance which was outstanding and is a close runner up to Mark Hamill for best Joker in media of all time. I have also loved him in the comics with Batman: The Killing Joke written by Alan Moore being my favourite Batman stories ever as well as being one of my favourite stories (in general) ever, and Joker was at his best in that story. I have also been enjoying the Death of the Family crossover that is currently happening where Joker is back more psychotic than ever (yes it is possible) aiming to kill not just Batman but his entire family from Robin-Red Hood, Batgirl-Nightwing and so on. Snyder has been doing a brilliant job with the character and is writing him perfectly, which isn't easy as there have been there fair share of poor Joker stories (that bad I can't remember any of there names). Also enjoyed him as the main villain in the Arkham Asylum ans Arkham City games and although I was initially slightly annoyed that he was the villain in Arkham City (wanted someone else to get a shot) after playing it and seeing all the other great villains in it was brilliant and Joker's role was excellent.
Probably my favourite villain character wise and if it wasn't for how well Joker has been written in the past and all the good stories Joker was involved in Riddler could have taken top spot away from him. Like Joker and quite a few of the Bat villains I first saw Riddler on the 90's Batman Animated series and loved all the riddles and traps he set for Batman. I didn't mind Jim Carrey as the Riddler in Batman Forever just thought he might have been a little to eccentric and the outfit he wore at the end was too flamboyant for the Riddler. Besides all this it could have been a lot worse. Although Riddler doesn't have as many classic comic book stories as some characters he has had a few interesting roles in the series over the last 10 years (before New 52) including his appearance in the Hush story where he finds out Batman's secret identity but doesn't reveal it because no would like a riddle that everyone knows the answer to. I also enjoyed when he came out of a coma as a "honest" private detective. Also enjoyed his role in the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games although getting some of the riddles was hard it added a different challenge to the games (especially Arkham City)
