This is a list of my most favourite comics book artist of past and present. This list will be in order of my most favourite, but might change if I notice a new artist, remember an artist that isn't on the list or simply just change my mind on who's art I prefer.
My all time favourite artist, and it will be hard for an artist to surpass him in my opinion. His art on Batman: Hush along with Jeph Loeb's already brilliant story was what got me properly into comics. I've always had an interest in comics but his art was what inspired me to start collecting. I love all of Lee's work and he has a brilliant ability of making any character look great, but my favourite character work that he's draw is Batman. Whether this is because I first saw his art in Batman I don't know but I've always enjoyed it whether on Batman: Hush, All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder or Justice League, he always makes the Dark Knight look awesome, and pulls of his dark characteristics along with his brooding emotions. I was upset when I noticed that Jim Lee would be leaving the Justice League series but look froward to seeing his art again in the upcoming Man of Steel series written by Scott Snyder.
I've always loved Alex Ross' art and his covers are amazing. His painting are beautiful and I always love seeing anything done by him. His interiors are just as brilliant as his covers and whenever I notice that he's doing the interiors it always helps my decision whether or not to buy it. His work on the Justice series written by Mark Waid was phenomenal, and I loved his work on the first issue of the recent Masks series. He truly has an amazing talent and I look forward to seeing the covers and interiors he does in the future.
I got the chance to advance review Witchblade #170 and I have to say Laura Braga's artwork on that issue was simply phenomenal and I can't wait to see more of her artwork throughout the series, and anticipate her to quickly become one of my favourite current artists.
I'm not actually a huge fan of Bob Kane's artwork, but being the creator of Batman means that he gets an honorary mention on this list.
