Shame it's so confusing, interesting premise.

Bendis is being subtle with his targeted effort to make sure fans hate Hank more. I've taken my leash off a long time ago, thank goodness.

(First sentence is sarcastic)

No one's really done justice to Hank since Whedon, in all honesty. Maybe Carey.

Well, damn. Xavier, you old bastard! So, Deadly Genesis, imprisoning Danger, being part of the Illuminati, various other mind-wiping offences throughout the ages. Xavier's arguably just a bit of a sh!t.

I wonder what happened?

This means that Iceman, Wolverine and Xavier have all slept with the same woman (as have Forge, Sabretooth and Azrael).

I disagree with the user above me on the Cyclops front. I love this book. So much was developed/revealed this issue. Top gun writing.

Verdict: CONTINUE

With regards to X-Men Vol.4:

I liked Brian Wood's Ultimate X-Men and his first arc on X-Men (Primer), but everything else has been entirely underwhelming for me. I also really don't care about Jubilee/Shogo. The ending was so unsatisfactory. The Future is killed by some vines? Where's the struggle in that? In all honesty, Jubilee just took the baby, it's not hers.

The only cool point is that three X-characters now have non-Arkea in them, but this probably won't be picked up again on due to Brian Wood leaving the title.

Verdict: Will give Guggenheim an issue and see what it's like. Ready to drop.

IMO, they're the best they've been since before Messiah Complex.

I have to agree.

While I may not be interested in every X-book out at the moment, I'm genuinely enjoying more of them than I have in years.

Uncanny, All-New X-Men, Magneto, All-New X-Factor, even WaTXM and Amazing X-Men are good. Nightcrawler's good too.

if the best thing you can say about a story is that it's relevant, what does that say about the story?

I guess Battle of the Atom was supposed to be relevant since it crossed over through the four main books, but it wasn't as good a story or use of the characters as the The Arms of The Octopus story that happened at the same time. AotO made me interested in seeing the "O5" in continuity, BotA just made me drop 'All-new.

I mean, there are lots of non-essential, yet awesome X-men stories that are just way better stories than any of the big crossovers or events, and to me that in itself makes them more relevant to what I actually like about the characters in the first place.

The X-men aren't my favorite characters because of what marvel or anyone else tells me is a relevant story, the X-men are my favorite characters because they've been in stories I loved. To me it's just that simple.

Couldn't agree more.

Meh, I don't really care about any of the dead characters at the moment tbh.

I'm glad Nightcrawler is back.
