I love good love triangles.

Hey, I'm a fan of THE OFFICE - Jim & Pam.

With that said, I'm sure in the end Warren will find a way to get Betsy back... you can just "feel" it... I think.

I like the new Cap suit.
Really hoping for a Skrull invasion.
Looks more like Thanos could be a future possibility in later Avenger films.

The Skrulls are really invading?!

Is that what the cops are fighting off?
I've been hearing it could also be the HULK?!

I thought the movie was good. I went in low expectations and walked out satisfied.  I didn't even want to see the movie.  I don't have a doubt the seguel will be better.  The critics killed this movie.  Most people I know that saw it, liked it.  Once it's on cable and people see it I think the audience will grow for those who wanted to see the first one in the theater and did not because of the reviews.  Plus it should be better since the introductions are done, and the plot can be longer and more focused on one thing.

Not just the critics.

Only 53% of the audience liked it even with the bad 26% critics rating.

Not a way for a $200 million to be spent.

The Cap @0:29 mark didn't count?

Too bad Babs didn't see it.

That was probably the best Captain America costume there.

Well, Warner Bros said the same thing about a Superman Returns sequel back in 2006:

http://www.movieweb.com/news/warner-bros-planning-on-the-superman-returns-sequel-for-2009

The Los Angeles Times spoke with Alan Horn, the President of Warner Bros. about the less-than-expected performance of Superman Returns as well as other WB movies this year:

Horn declined to divulge figures, but a person familiar with the studio's internal projections said Warner's cut of the Superman Returns profit was expected to be $50 million to $60 million. The film cost $209 million to produce and more than $100 million to market worldwide.

Horn expects Superman Returns to eventually gross about $400 million worldwide, more than last year's hit Batman Begins. Nonetheless, Superman fell at least $100 million short of his expectations.

"I thought it was a very successful movie, but I think it should have done $500 million worldwide," Horn said. "We should have had perhaps a little more action to satisfy the young male crowd."

Still, Horn said he's betting Warner has firmly reestablished the Superman franchise and is planning another sequel installment for summer 2009.

Apparenlty Brandon Routh was going to reprise his role in a sequel before 2009.

We all know that never happened, instead we got a ** REBOOT ** scheduled for 2013.

Yup. Same old same old story from WB.

Green Lantern is getting a reboot not a sequel.

@Jordanstine:   LMAO...That was awesome. If you had only posted the Green Lantern Script earlier, you could have saved me the $8 I wasted on the ticket.

What is this Green Lantern "SCRIPT" you speak off?
I'd like to read it too.

Edit: nvm, found it!

We've heard this one before...  Warner Bros:

http://www.movieweb.com/news/warner-bros-planning-on-the-superman-returns-sequel-for-2009

Warner Bros. Planning on Sequel for Superman Returns in 2009
August 2006

The Los Angeles Times spoke with Alan Horn, the President of Warner Bros. about the less-than-expected performance of Superman Returns as well as other WB movies this year:

Horn declined to divulge figures, but a person familiar with the studio's internal projections said Warner's cut of the Superman Returns profit was expected to be $50 million to $60 million. The film cost $209 million to produce and more than $100 million to market worldwide.

Still, Horn is betting Warner Bros. has firmly reestablished the Superman franchise and is planning another installment for summer 2009.

 Where's the 2009
Where's the 2009 "Sequel" WB promised us in 2006?  Oh wait, they decided a 2012 "Reboot" instead
But hey, there seems to be a lot of gullible fans in this day and age without reading the whole article.

=============

Superman as we all know didn't get that sequel made in 2009. Instead got a reboot in 2012.

It's just a good PR move by WB to the fans, and get them to catch the 1st movie, considering they're thinking a sequel is coming (although it's just being "planned" and "pursued").

Back to the THR Green Lantern article...

KEYWORDS: "PURSUE" and "PLANNING"

Those are the 2 words WB used in regards to a sequel.

Of course they are "pursuing" and "planning" a sequel, they already hired a writer to pen the script for Green Lantern 2 over a year ago.

They did not say we will "HAVE" a sequel. Totally different. Anything can happen between "pursuing" and "planning" a sequel. See Superman Returns and Terminator Salvation from WB.

Like the Colliderarticle mentioned:

http://collider.com/green-lantern-2-warner-bros/98896/

"While WB sounds hopeful, just because the studio says that they’re moving ahead with the sequel doesn’t guarantee that it’ll see the light of day."

"This report comes at a curious time, with Warner Bros. possibly hoping that trumpeting a sequel will increase box office returns (“Well since they’re making a sequel, I guess I’ll go see it now.”)"

WB did it with Superman Returns and Terminator Salvation among a few. At least both Superman Returns, and Terminator Salvation made their $$$ back. While Green Lantern is considered a flop only grossing $88.9M domestically right now ($118M worldwide) with a cost of $300M ($200M in budget, $100M in mktg).

It's just really good choice of wording with Warner Bros.

Of course, do you expect them to say "No, this movie sucked, so of course we're not making a sequel."  They said the right thing by planning or pursuing a sequel, and just trying to save face.
FINALLY, SOMEONE GETS IT!

Seriously, a lot of people don't even read the article anymore.

It says they're planning to pursue the sequel, not that its already happening.
