I'm cramming several classes I never bothered to read for throughout the semester down my gullet this Thanksgiving. Yum.

I feel for you guys in states that don't have What-a-Burger.... you might as well not have a state constitution, too.

Lmao. I honestly wasn't expecting to stumble on such a hilarious thread during my Thanksgiving procrastination visit.

Now, its been a couple years... but if I remember correctly, Plato's work that most closely has to do with the world being an illusion is the Allegory of the Cave. Was that part of the Republic? I don't remember.

To address your question though: at its essence, Jaden is saying I guess that our reflections aren't real, because not only is our reflection a non-exact/flipped copy of our appearance(that is also influenced by the mirror doing the reflecting), our reflection is interpreted through our eyes which do not truly "see" what's there. In fact, I forget the exact mechanism of vision, but I imagine it also has to do with light being interpreted through the parts of our eye, which give their own unique twist on the information presented. So, that's two mediums of separation from reality that composes looking at a reflection. But, I'm pretty sure that "vision" as a sense/perception is subjective in every sense of the word, so I don't think there's a such thing as "real" vision that our eyes are missing as he seems to imply---except that when our eyes create images absent of the light consistent with them, that's neither real or subjectively real.

Do I believe Jaden meant any of that with that tweet? No, no I don't. I'm just messing with you. Then again, if I remember some of the outfits he's been spotted in over the years, I can't help but believe he genuinely doesn't believe in mirrors. A better question is---how can Jaden be real if his bullshit isn't real?

Am I missing something here? Can 7DS team bust gigantic meteors with ease? destroy small mountains with the shockwave from their strikes? Create many after images with speed? Ichigo being a confirmed mach 500 in base.

Here's Escanor casually tanking(and by tanking, I mean he stands there and doesn't move an inch, and only suffers a small cut) a hit from someone on the level of 42,000, in which the wind/after shock of the axe swing blew away large portions of the surrounding countryside. And as a frame of reference for that power level, Gilthunder in the early days of the manga threw a spear 7.3 miles away casually at a target, while having only a power level of about 1,500.

Truth is that even the weakest henchmen villains in this series (in the early hundreds/thousands of power levels, from the first 5 manga issues) were cutting deep chasms into mountains and destroying wide swathes of the battlefield with their shockwaves. http://www1.mangafever.me/Read/Nanatsu_No_Taizai_1_42#gohere and http://www1.mangafever.me/Read/Nanatsu_No_Taizai_1_40#gohere

As for speed? Meliodas was fighting a giant the size of/larger than a mountain. To be able to dodge back and forth like that, from ground to running up his body/jumping up for attacks, takes great speed. http://www1.mangafever.me/Read/Nanatsu_No_Taizai_171_10#gohere (keep pressing the right arrow to see the fight). Additionally, Meliodas has dodged and reacted to lightning, which moves at 320 million feet per a second/a third the speed of light.

However, despite his speed, Meliodas was able to have an attack blocked by a character named Escarossa... implying that character is roughly the same speed or faster than him. http://www1.mangafever.me/Read/Nanatsu_No_Taizai_175_17#gohere

Here's Escanor casually attacking that character who blocked Meliodas attack(Escarossa) faster than he can see. http://www1.mangafever.me/Read/Nanatsu_No_Taizai_185_15#gohere

For Meliodas speed feats, please see the section here. http://comicvine.gamespot.com/forums/gen-discussion-1/nanatsu-no-taizai-respect-thread-seven-deadly-sins-1684654/ Keep in mind that Escanor is stronger and faster than Meliodas, significantly.

As others have said, in either situation, is there any reason for the officer/person to believe that their action will actually result in them not being killed?

It seems like fear overriding common sense. They're willing to kill you before, why wouldn't they be willing to kill you after just to cover their tracks?
