Character's to Watch

With the New Year just around the corner, I decided to take a quick moment to speculate on the future(s) of a couple characters who I believe are posed for major changes in 2010.

 Norman Osborn
First up, Norman Osborn. How much longer can he sustain this illusion of sanity? It is only a matter of time before he completely snaps, and now it appears as if he is spreading himself (and his team) to thin. Emma Frost and Namor are gone, Doctor Doom has launched a preemptive strike, and as if he didn't already have enough on his plate, Osborn has set his sights on Asgard. We all know that it is not a matter of "if" Norman falls, but "when."

2010 is going to change the Worlds of quite a few characters in the DCU, and perhaps no one more so then Dick Grayson. The current Batman. But with Bruce Wayne set to make his return, what will the road hold for Dick? It took some deep soul searching for the former Nightwing to even take up the mantle in the first place, but now that he has, and kept Gotham from completely devouring itself, will he simply step aside?
 Batman?

 Gambit, or Death?
My final pick I admit is somewhat bias. Gambit, has recently returned to the black skinned white haired look he made famous as the Horsemen, Death. Its been over a year since Gambit returned in X-Men #200, apparently cleansed of the process that altered his appearance as well as his abilities. However as fans flipped through the pages of X-Men: Legacy #229, it did not take long to see that all is not well with the silver tongued Cajun. With his transformation never fully explained, and his sudden reversal back to the Black Side, will Gambit once again become a villain in 2010? And if so, will it be the final straw? Would the X-Men ever be able to welcome him back if he were to turn to the Dark Side yet again?

Who are some characters you expect to have big stories, or impacts in 2010? Feel free to speculate on the uncertain futures of those characters you feel will make a major splash in 2010.

I'm surprised Cassie didn't make your list.

I hope that Dick just steps aside and becomes another identity. I love him as Batman but if DC does Dick Vs. Bruce, then Dick will inevitably lose, insulting the character.

As for characters that I see having a big impact: obviously Superman, Deathstroke, The Guardian, the new Justice League, and Green Arrow.

Deathstroke huh? Any particular reason?

No doubt Bruce will become Batman again, hopefully they don't use the cliche "Batman vs Batman."  But they need some sort of dramatic storyline.

I hope and think that Noh Varr may be getting his own title, now that he's been upgraded to captain Marvel

General Lane is going to shut down the Titans for some reason and Deathstroke will be in charge of a new Titans team. So he might have a couple important stories coming up, and maybe even a role in Attack of the Superman.

What I hope that happens with Dick and Bruce, is that the file that Dick found leads to something horrible about his parents death, something that Bruce kept from him. This will cause Dick to hate Bruce again(but hopefully not too much) and give up the cowl so he can cut all ties with Bruce. But who knows Winnick is going to write, so I expect the worst.

For real? Deathstroke's going to be leading another version of the TT? Pretty cool.

@Gambler.I think Norman has actually become a superhero type.I think he's so crazy that in his mind he actually believes that he's doing the country some good.If you read some of the things he says to people that work under him. It's so reminiscent of Classic Nick Fury...he's done some pretty bad things while in power but at the same time he is still has a patriotic agenda of so it seems.I would be delighted if they let Spider-Man expose him for what he really was during Siege though.

@Vance Astro: I'd rather Norman kills Spiderman before going down. I've never hated a fictional character the way I hate Spiderman. It keeps me up at night.

LMFAO.I'll leave that part alone.Obviously I love Spider-Man and hate Norman and you're the other way around or sort of like that. What's going on right now with Dark Reign reminds me of Heroes Reborn. The Dark Avengers are like the first wave of Thunderbolts. They were the Avengers when there was none in then when the Avengers came back their leader Zemo started going back to his villainy.I predict the end or the entirety of Siege will be the new Heroes Reborn. They already have Cap,Iron Man,and Thor getting back together.

Loki im thinking is one to watch. I have a feeling his hand in this
has barely been laid out. Doom of course for anyone thats seen the previews
for the arc after Siege. Dr.Voodoo and Noh-Varr are good picks as well.
Gambit, Magneto, Rogue and Hope in the X-Verse.
DC seems to have emphasis on the usual, Superman Family, Flash Family, Lanterns,
BatFamily. Maybe theyll surprise me though, who knows. Id love for a no-name to become
the center of attention.

I'm sure someone (DC or Marvel) will try to up the statues of an unknown character in '10
