Ben is a spectacular director. He may have developed into a fine actor. But Batman he ain't. We saw that with George Clooney and I don't care how bad or good Batman & Robin was.

If Affleck proves me wrong I'll be the first one to admit it. I just can't see him as Batman. And it's not like he'll have make-up to pull of a chameleon-like transformation like Ledger did with the Joker.

Plus the sequel has to deal with Goyer's preachy monologue script and Snyder's shakey cam. Combine that we'll get a fundamental case of not getting the subject matter or the characters.

I completely agree. I don't think Affleck has ever shown the diversity that guys like Heath Ledger and Robert Downey Jr bring. He has one pitch. It works in the right role, but take him outside of what he's good at and it doesn't work. The first movie wasn't great, in my opinion. Especially in comparison to some of the stellar comic movies that have come out in recent years. And considering the direction that they are going with some of the casting, this sequel is setting up to be a colossal failure.

As if Ben Afleck wasn't bad enough, they cast a blow-pop as Wonder Woman! Look, this girl is very pretty and all but I didn't buy her as a bad ass in the Fast movies so I am definitely NOT on board with her as WW! I think most of the suggestions on this thread would have been better choices.

Although, after scrolling through 5 pages it seems I was alone in wanting Gina Carano as Wonder Woman. I thought Haywire was pretty much a WW audition tape. Gina has the right size and build, she's pretty, every bit the actress as this chick AND has instant credibility as a fighter. Anyone?

ugh NO.. First of all, she doesnt have the face of wonder woman.. Her acting chops are pretty bad as well and she's kinda short, dont you think?..

Dont get me wrong.. I like gina as well! She's got great moves and it's a joy to watch her fight but she's no wonder woman my friend :)

All in the eye of the beholder, I guess. Gina is definitely prettier than Gina, but I would give Gina the nod in every other category, including acting. Gina would be my first choice, but there are probably a dozen actresses that I would rather see as WW than Gal Gadot.

Then again, there are a dozen actors I'd rather see as Batman than Ben Afleck, so maybe I should just stay away from the movie.

@deaditegonzo: Listen, I know that GUYS in the Israeli military are pretty hard core, but do you know that SHE went through combat training? Personally, I don't buy it. I played high school football and we had female 'trainers' too. They were like little student nurses taping up wrists and ankles and every one of them were cute. It was like a pre-requisite that the girl trainers had to be hot.

Because your (I'm assuming) American high school football experience is totally the same thing as a Middle-Eastern army for a country that is constantly facing threats from the surrounding countries. I looked up a few training things about the IDF and there is no distinction between male and female regimens.

Maybe under all the make-up and Hollywood glitz, she really is a roughneck. But then again, all that stuff in her resume might be a souped up way of saying she brought some officer his coffee every morning and put band-aids on the cuts and bruises the real soldiers got during basic training.

Or maybe you're just saying whatever you can to discredit Gal because you're mad.

I don't know. But I do know that either way, she wouldn't last 5 minutes in a fight with Gina Carano.

IJS

No you don't, unless you've actually seen the two at it (and that is something I would like to see). But either way it's irrelevant.

I am not saying that my high school American Football trainers are the EXACT same thing as whatever Gal did in Israel. But I am willing to bet that what she did is closer to those 16 year-old girls in their track suits at my high school than to some kind of Israeli Jillian Michaels drill sargent. Do I know that for sure? No, of course not. But neither do you. I don't say that because I am trying to discredit Gal. I say it because she was cast in the Fast films to be a tough chick and she- in my honest opinion- failed miserably to portray that. Michelle Rodriguez can portray a tough chick because on some level, she clearly is one. Gal can't because clearly she isn't. Want me to prove it? I can't. No more than I can prove that the sky is blue. All I can do is walk outside and look up. It's the eyeball test. Gal fails it.

Which brings me to another point. You say you are not crazy about Gina's acting. That's fine. But let's not make Gal out to be anything resembling a good actress either. She hasn't shown herself to be anything more than eye-candy (if you are into the beautiful-face-with-a-rail-thin-body look) to this point in her career. Again, I am not saying that this is all she is capable of. But I AM saying, I haven't seen the evidence. At this stage in their careers, I think Gina is a much better actress (again, my opinion). I stated it as 'every bit the actress' as Gal because I didn't want to take a cheap shot.

As for my fight comment, I do think it is relevant because it speaks to the issue of credibility. Gina was 15-1 as a mauy-thai fighter in Thailand and only lost one fight in the US as well. That is what sells her for me. You can put Gina in a fight scene with any actor in Hollywood and it will play. I can't say the same for Gal. I can see Gina doing her own stunts. I can't say the same for Gal. I can buy into Gina as a Super tough, Super human Super soldier. I can't say the same for Gal.

I'm not being critical because I'm mad. I am not mad at all. Don't take this personally or too seriously. I am, however, unimpressed with the selection of Gal as Wonder Woman. Sometimes Hollywood makes great choices with female characters (Scarlett Johansson as Widow), and sometimes they miss by a mile (Jessica Alba as Sue Storm). This feels like a HUGE miss to me.

I would LOVE to see the Joker come to the Marvel U. let me list some Marvel heroes who I think would make a great story for the Joker coming to Marvel:

Like many have stated, I would like to see Joker versus either the Punisher or Wolverine. However, He could be in a mini-series against Any of the following: Ghost Rider, Hawk Eye, Deadpool, Red Hulk, Skaar or Cyclops

That is my list because for two reasons. First, I think that any of those characters would allow the Joker to be the Joker. Putting the Joker against Spiderman just wouldn't work Joker is, as someone else already stated, too hardcore for the pages of Spiderman. The same could be said of the Avengers. Those titles are not dark enough. These are the characters that would be up for the challenge and can descend into the depths in pursuit of the Joker. And the other thing is that in the end, Joker could be as absolutely DEAD as he deserves to be.

I am going with the Marvel team.

I think that Thor can fight Superman even. (It has finally been established that Thor does possess the ability to perceive and react to things traveling at trans-light speed) I also think that Professor X, Colosus and Vision, working together, can draw out a fight with Martian. Supposing that the Fantastic Four can deal with Wonder Woman, that would leave Aquaman, Batman and GL to face Captain America, Hulk, Ironman, Cyclops, Jean, Bobby and Storm. I think those JLA members would be squashed fairly quickly, allowing the other Marvel teamers to strategically join the fights against the JLA's big three.

I say all of this with the assertion that the Marvel team also possesses an advantage in strategic minds. With all due respect to Batman, giving Ironman, Reed Richards and Cyclops time to plan AND knowledge of the opponents is the greatest equalizer the Marvel team could have.

Come on people. The OP states bloodlusted. A bloodlusted Black Bolt destroys Cap Atom and half of the planet by shouting "DIE!!!"
