If the Spartan scored a hit with that shield to daze the samurai, then I think it could be over.

Why would he not have the shield active, he knows he's going to a fight which is the same reason WW speed blitz him in the first place, because WW knew she was getting into a fight with Thanos, so it's a fair assumption that Thanos also knows that his getting into a fight? And as a precautionary action he puts up his shielding because in this fight he doesn't know what WW is capable of, which would be an in character for Thanos. And before you bring up why he didn't have his shield up during Champion and Thor fight. He knows that he can withstand their blows, he has done research on Champion before teh fight and he already knows Thor very well. "
Why would Thanos do something out of character against a female character he doesn't know? Thanos almost never comes to a fight with a shield up.Pretty sure I said this already.There is nothing in the OP that says he knows who or what he's fighting.Thanos has failed to put up shields against characters whom he knew were more powerful than him and end up beating him,so why would he do it now? I'm not even going to bring up Thor or the Champion how about the fight with Tyrant? He already had intel on his abilities before hand and got knocked around because he did a terrible job of defending himself. "

Thanos is a terrible melee fighter.He's on the same level as Hulk.Who cares if he's a demi-god..Ares is an ACTUAL god and he's weak as f#ck.
Captain America sent Ares flying by shooting him in the face. If that's what can happen to a real God, then I'd hate to see what Bucky will do to Thanos :P
