Personally I haven't read too many Superman stories from before the New 52 other than Birthright and All-Star but I've really enjoyed what Grant Morrison has done with the character and what Greg Pak is doing with Superman right now.

This is a character I really like. I just wish he were in the hands of a more capable writer. He's been set up and created to have some very powerful social commentary in the Marvel Universe and Bendis is totally ignoring it to tell more of the usual Marvel Superhero stories.
