Fandom Quiz

Choose Your Top Five Fandoms (in no particular order):

1) Doctor Who

2) X-Men/Wolverine

3) Avengers/Thor

4) Frozen

5) Sherlock

The First Character You Fell In Love With:

1) The Doctor, specifically Nine. He was so boyish and yet so wise, like if someone were simultaneously an excited puppy and a protective mother bear (this being my first impression of him). I loved his interactions with people who didn't feel like they mattered. I loved his relationship with Rose. I loved him so much, I actually hated David Tennant for a full 10 seconds when he changed. (My impression of Ten changed drastically when Rose whispered 'I need you' in his ear and he woke immediately, and proceeded to look stunning while sword-fighting aliens in his pajamas.)

2) Rogue. I actually watched all the X-men movies for the first time in the past two weeks. I had seen parts of X-men: First Class a long time ago but didn't remember a whole lot. Honestly, Rogue really captured my attention in that she felt so alone in the world and just wanted to be accepted. I also got ridiculously excited when I saw who played her, since Fly Away Home is one of my absolute favourite movies and it took me like 20 minutes to get over the mentality that her name was, in fact, not Amy.

3) Loki, from the absolute start. Since I had no previous knowledge of the mythical lore behind Thor, I rooted for Loki as the underdog, convinced that he would come to terms with his adoption and be better because of it. I absolutely fell in love with him. I won't go into it, since I wrote an entire separate blog post specifically about Loki in Thor 1 and The Avengers (which you can read here.)

4) Hans. I fell head-over-heels for his charm and probably would have agreed to marry him after just a day too. I'm still slightly in denial about his betrayal. It's a touchy subject.

5) Sherlock himself. I'm insanely attracted to intelligence.

The Character You Never Expected to Love:

1) The Eleventh Doctor, to be completely honest. It took me the longest time to warm up to him, simply because I was so emotionally attached to Ten. I can't pinpoint the exact moment I started really absolutely loving him, I think it was a slow process of him earning my trust and flapping about his way into my heart.

2) Magneto. In the first movie, he's simply a villain. Then in the X-men: First Class movie, they give him a tragic backstory, and that's literally all it takes for me to become completely and hopelessly attached to a character. Call it my hamartia.

3) Thor, actually. One of my main turn-offs is arrogance. I hated Thor and loved Loki. Then Thor grew up, and became freaking adorable, and terrifyingly fantastic in battle. I think what actually sold me though, was seeing his absolute love for his brother, despite all his struggles.

4) Kristoff. I thought he was a weirdo. Seeing him act so selflessly for Anna transformed him into a lovable weirdo, though I still don't like the fact that she ended up with him. Blargh.

5) ANDERSON.

The Character You're Most Like:

1) Probably Ten. I love words, Shakespeare, helping people, and being randomly silly for no reason. I really connect with him intellectually too, and love books! We share a lot of the same idiosyncrasies and passions, and would probably be best friends and constantly freak out about how much we have in common, save for the 945-year-old part. And I'm slightly less Time Lord.

2) Nightcrawler, I think. He's incredibly optimistic, generous, and kind, and I'd like to think these are qualities I possess, too. We also both have strong moral convictions due to an unshakable faith :)

3) I'd have to go with either Captain America or (Avengers-era) Thor. I love having fun with people I love and I'm always there for my friends, and I have a strong sense of moral obligation as well. I feel like there's at least one personality trait I share with each avenger.

4) Anna, hands down. She's awkward, sweet, and would move mountains for her sister. However, it's my dream to play Elsa in a theatre production someday. Let It Go is my jam.

5) Molly Hooper, in a lot of ways. Her unwavering loyalty, her gentle personality, her infatuation with Sherlock...

The Character You'd Slap:

1) Early-season Amy Pond. Like, just stop this whole stupid Doctor-or-Rory thing! This is not a love triangle. This is you taking advantage of someone who loves you and who you are engaged to. He would do anything for you, and it's about time you realized that and stop fooling around for no reason. You do not deserve him, but he's yours unconditionally anyway.

2) Wolverine. WHY ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH EVERY WOMAN. He is completely in love with three different women in a span of six movies. NO. Especially Jean. She is taken and she is happy. Stop this nonsense. Along the same lines - Iceman cheating on Rogue with Kitty. Do NOT.

3) Odin. LOVE YOUR SONS EQUALLY. LOKI IS AMAZING. I WILL THROW YOU IN THE OCEAN.

4) Hans, because you were mi corazon. Look what you had! A lovely Anna with which to sing adorable songs of love and be quirky with! And you threw it all away. I'm still not over you.

5) Sherlock Holmes. You could have told John you were alive. But you made him suffer. For. Two. Years. NOPE.

I like this section. I got out some angst.

Five Favourite Characters:

1) Ten, Rose, Donna, Eleven, Wilf.

2) Wolverine, Rogue, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Mystique.

3) Loki, Tony Stark, Thor, Hawkeye, Captain America.

4) Elsa, Hans, Olaf, Anna, the 'yoo-hoo' guy.

5) Sherlock, Molly, John, Mary, Mycroft.

Your OTP:

1) TEN AND ROSE FOREVER. Don't even get me started.

2) Jean and Cyclops, actually. I love them together. They're really great together, and he really loves her.

3) I actually do not have one. I don't buy Thor and Jane, and I'm not huge on Clint and Natasha.

4) ELSA AND JACK FROST. See previous blog entry. Do not blow holes in my ship.

5) Sherlock and Molly ^.^ He said she was the most important. Those are actual lines from the show. The kiss and hair ruffle though. I don't care if that specific scene was only in Anderson's head.

A Pairing You Love:

1) Eleven and Clara make me happy. This was actually a process, because I always shipped the Doctor and Rose. But this is hundreds of years later, and I actually only started shipping them on the episode that Eleven regenerates. What is my life.

2) Wolverine and Rogue being brother and sister! It honestly makes me so happy and warms my heart, I love it! Can that just be a thing forever?

3) Tony Stark and Bruce Banner being science buddies. Or Loki and Thor being awesome brothers. FEELS.

4) Elsa and Anna just fighting for each other and family love and a movie not romance-focused ^.^

5) John and Mary! Seriously, they're adorable. And I love how Mary and Sherlock just decided one day to become awesome buddies. It's my favourite.

These questions are because of my awesome friend Laura! Check out her blog here.

I Believe in You

Honestly out of all the Doctors, I think Nine does comfort people the best, which is hilarious because he can be so harsh, but he’s also the one that’s fresh from the Time War and understands how raw circumstances can be. So he’s the one who’s so willing to say ”Look at me, I’m stupid” or ”Street corner, two in the morning, getting a taxi home - I’ve never had a life like that.” It’s more effective because because unlike Ten and Eleven, Nine does self-deprecating comfort that translates so much better (and he does it so much more often too) Instead of just saying, ”Aww it’s okay you’re not stupid” he says, ”It’s okay, I’m stupid too - being stupid sometimes isn’t bad. Everyone is stupid sometimes, but making stupid decisions also means you have the potential to make clever decisions. I believe that you can do this. You can fix it.” And that, to be honest, is the most brilliant feeling in the world: knowing that despite your shortcomings, someone still believes in you and is willing to fight for you. Nine, you are so wonderful and not enough people recognize that. (via winterinthetardis)

Disney Foreshadowing

No Caption Provided

Disney's so clever, and I knew that they've been doing this for years, but only recently did I learn that they've been forshadowing future movies from the beginning. This gif is from Sleeping Beauty, with Aurora and Philip dancing. Take a look at the reflection in the water. It's Ariel and Eric.

Sleeping Beauty came out in 1959, and The Little Mermaid came out in 1989. That’s a 30-year foreshadow.
