First memory of a comic

I'm not sure how old i was but i was really young and on holiday.i got it a magazine shop and it was a issue of spider-man as i had watched the spider-man cartoon a lot and was familiar with him but much to my surprise i had absolutely no idea what was going on .I opened it up to find a blond man working as a chief who everyone called Ben and for some reason was spider-man despite not even having the right costume this completely confused me who was used to Peter Parker from the cartoon.I reread the comic over and over trying to see if i missed something but i couldn't find anything that explain why this other guy was spider-man after that i decide i wasn't wasn't gunna bother with comics and just stick with the cartoon.

Years later i found out (with the help of comicvine ) what the hell was going on.That i was just unlucky, that i just happen to pick one the few comics where Ben Reilly was spider-man couldn't believe my luck that I just happened to pick that one who knows if i had gotten one with Peter that could've been the start of comics for me instead of years later, the comic which was the sensation Spider-man no.10 wasn't even new at the time it was almost as old as me ! so why was it even there ! im just glad that my confusion over that first comic didn't put me off for life and i have to say thanks to comicvine for helping me.

I sympathise! The first Batman comic I ever read was the tpb for "Bruce Wayne: Murderer". I had no idea who this man in a strange blue robin-batman suit was... Oh, he's Dick Grayson? Isn't Dick Grayson Robin? And why is Barbara Gordon in a wheelchair? Who is that little girl all in black? And who on earth is Spoiler?!? I have a big thank you to comicvine too :-)

I was 11 year old when I read my first comic, Thor vol. 2 10 - The Dark Wars arc. I read at friend's house but wasn't my actual first comic, I only started reading when I was 13 and after many years (now I am 20) just recently I managed to collect the Dark Wars arc completely .

The first comic I remember reading was the Death of Superman trade, which my dad bought for me when I was 9 after he heard about the story on CNN (I think he secretly wanted to read it but he's much too macho to buy something like that for himself).

I had a similar problem when I first read a Robin comic I couldn't make my mind up if he was Dick Grayson or not since I wasn't aware there being any other robin at the time and Tim does look a lot like Dick if you don't know much about comics, they never even called him Tim in it.So both Marvel and DC confused the hell out of me on my first times.

I was six or something. When we were at my uncle's house my cousins gave me a German print of Deadly Hands of Kung Fu (I remember it had the cover of US #9). That was the moment I was infected.
