the Idea for this one came to me one night after listing to steely dan and watching the final season of Superfriends and reading a random back Issue of Firestorm vol two [ and it had got me thinking what if Firehawk :Lorraine Reilly had Merged with Ronnie Raymond and Professor Stein to create an Composite Firestorm . the Idea kinda came from me thinking about How Rebis /Negative Man was Created in Grant Morrison Doom Patrol . and say with if the original Ongoing series would been like if Grant Morrison would gotten ahold of it and did his Surreal Deconstructing magic on it to the main character . if that would have Happened maybe the series would have not been canceled in the [ Post-Crisis DCU ] maybe this wild composite Fem Firestorm would have became an Member of Grant`s Doom Patrol ,who knows this is just me spit balling an crazy idea that might have worked in the Late Eighties DC comics . other than that I really do like Firestorm as an character since I was a Kid . the early version seemed so strange [ being a nigh powerful elemental ] yet familiar [ kinda having the complicated school life of Spider-Man /Peter Parker ] in a way I wish that Firestorm had his own Animated series just to himself so all that stuff could truly be explored . instead of being a guest star like in brave and the bold . -_- anyways this pin up I was trying to channel mid eighties DCU visuals inspired by Firestorm Co Creator Al Migrom for my composite Firestorm : the Nuclear Woman .

After Listing to a few of my favorite Comics Podcast who are commenting on the Latest DC Event Infamously Known as Forever Evil . and from what I can take from their Colorfully Painful , yet honest review of the first Issue + Aquaman tie in staring Black Manta . got me thinking . where is Mera Aquaman`s Loving Wife at during the Maddness of it all. so on a Whim I came up with an What If / Else-world`s Themed Idea that she would take over as Ruler of Atlantis and Wear Arthur’s Classic Costume and Take the Swift Vengeance Against the Crime Syndicate for the Senseless Murder of Husband . in my story she would kill Ocean Master and take his Trident , Team Up with Black Manta [temporally anyways until they can personally take out Ultraman ] only to put Black Manta out of his Misery at the end of the Crossover . her Costume here is a Combination of her own Swimsuit and Aquaman`s Classic Iconic Costume . this is my ideal version of Mera who is just as confident as her Husband and her Former Red Lantern Self from Blackest Night . :D

I had read a lot of stormwatch team Achilles /W.I.L.D cats during this time [ back issues and trades ] made this during high school .[ You can tell how much into early Image Comics I as in my Youth Namely the early Wildstorm / Liefeld / Mcfarlane /Larsen stuff ] Big Guns , Pouches and all of the Glorious Extreme Stuff of the Early Chromium age . I re-read that stuff every now and then for Inspiration . -_- I kinda Miss Fun Comics like that . anyways enjoy this visual trip down memory lane .
Here is an Doodle I did Yesterday I was trying to draw an Union Jack Themed Latex Dress all studded out in Metallic Buttons and Stuff . been looking at alot of Dawnamatrix`s Pics on their Facebook Pages for Inspiration ^_^ [ and boy was it Inspiring ladies and Gents ] also the Figures are Very ,Very Loose because I was going for Surrealist Abstract Imagery …nothing ultra realistic , just having fun on the Page :D
the concept for this Piece was inspired by Listing to the DeathGrips Song TAKYON and The Crystal Castles Hunting for Witches . the Idea is That the Newly Revamped Dr Mirage would try her hand at doing battle against Master Darque`s Sister . but the twist is instead of defeating her foe she is instead Possessed by Sandria in some crazy Purgatory like Prison within her own mind . and Sandria`s Personality taking over her Body [ it`s kinda my take on the whole Superior Spider-Man thing but with Bigger Consequences to Mirage`s Body in the Long run ] Anyway I that`s my thoughts on how this Spooky Pin Up came from ^_^ .
the Inspiration for this trippy piece of fan art came from me reading Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham`s Work on Batman Inc and J.H. Williams work on Batwoman and my Love for Op Art . The on Again Off Again Love Interest of Shadowman and Brother to his Nemesis Master Darque . A romance that was doomed from the start but that`s what made the original Run Special in my personal Opinion in between Shadowman`s epic battles with the supernatural and his own Dark Nature at the time in the original series . anyways here in this Pin -Up I was going for a Madonna Vibe with her Dress and Body Language . I wanted her to be a little Aloof but still carry a mysterious Dark Drunken Edge to her , I was listing to a lot of Old Madonna Music and Amy Winehouse namely her First Album Frank [ a personal favorite of mine ] all in all Enjoy this wonderful Piece of Fan Art Ladies and Gents . [ Also Congratulations to Valiant for Winning Publisher of the Year ] another reason to be Happy about comics outside of the Big Two . ^_^
here is an odd little Sharpie Doodle I did last year while I was on my break from my day job , was really going for a more Streamline look with my inking with sharpies . all while still keeping the energy of Loose gesture Sketch underneath. I will admit the figures in this doodle have more of an Jack Kirby Feel than Bruce Timm I was intentionally trying to channel , so I did the only thing I know best these days .Combined them both .
