It could be interesting to see Storm and Scarlet Witch together for a bit. It'll help give Scarlet Witch stronger ties to the mutant community (since she's always away in Avengers land) and it'll help give Storm some of that magical ability that she's been hinted at having. That probably won't happen though.

I voted :D Nice to see she has a solid lead too!

Although I'm sad that I couldn't also vote for Scarlet Witch. I like both of them :(

What's the premise of this comic? Looks like an alternate reality.

I would love a recast... but there are some casting choices that I already think were done very well.

Ian McKellen as Magneto - Spot on. Only problem is he isn't ripped but I always found that to be strange in the comics... I prefer him looking like a real person like Ian.
Patrick Stewart as Prof. X - I thought he filled the role perfectly. I'd like to see him have to act out some of Xavier's faults.
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine - Even though he might be tall, you can't deny he made the role his own and basically is identified with the Wolverine character. If he had better material to work with, he could've been the Robert Downey Jr. of the X-men
James Marsden as Cyclops - I thought he did a fantastic job with the poor writing he was given. I'd like to see what he could do with some material with actual weight to it.
Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler - I thought he did a very good job. Only fault is that he could've used a little more humor but I personally think that was because of the writing. I think Alan Cumming could easily bring that element to the character.
Rebecca Romijn as Mystique - Interesting take on Mystique. She could easily add more dialogue while retaining that presence she created. Again, the problem lies in the writing she was given.
Famke Janssen as Jean Grey - I liked her in the role. She played a good older Jean Grey. I just wish the third movie was less Wolverine focused and more Jean Grey focused so we could really see her chops.
Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde - I think she could be excellent in the role, given the right material.

Yet of course, there were some very bad castings too that I would like to see replaced.

Halle Berry as Storm - Just awful in the role. Looks nothing like the character. Can't decide if she wants an accent or not. Lacks the dignified and powerful presence. Feels more like "Halle with powers" than "Ororo Monroe." My suggested castings are Kerry Washington (a little thin and short for the role but I think she can pull it off. She can always hit the gym too.) and if they are willing to go for an older Storm... Angela Bassett.
Anna Paquin as Rogue - Not saucy enough. She looks too soft for the character too.
Shawn Ashmore as Iceman - Just didn't feel right... he wasn't a light enough spirit for the part. Brought too much heavyness.
January Jones as Emma Frost - No. Just... no.
Pretty much all the side characters - Psylocke, Callisto, Juggernaut, etc. etc.

So I feel that most of the casting is actually quite capable of being in a good X-men film. The problem lies with horrible directors, bad writing, bad costuming, bad basically everything behind the camera lens.

I think some of the casting they did pretty well on. Magneto, Prof X, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Mystique, and Nightcrawler were all good to me. Though the writing wasn't there in some cases (Cyclops) to bring the casting to it's potential.

Then some of the castings were quite atrocious... Storm, Rogue, Iceman etc. I blame the writing for a lot of this... but Storm especially gets a lot of criticism from me because beyond the cheesy struck by lightning line... it could've been in the same vein as Cyclops. If they had cast the right person in the role... and not try to get an A-lister instead, it might've been different.

Another critique of Storm is that Halle's portrayal is more "Halle Berry with superpowers" than Storm. First off her appearance changes to look nothing like the comics and look more like Halle Berry. Those haircuts?! Second, she had an accent in the first movie and then its completely gone in the second. Wtf? Third is the writing diminished her to a side role instead of a strong woman who is a leader.

Another issue with the movies is that they are way too focused on Wolverine. The great thing about The Avengers was that it shifted focus to all the team members and they got their time to shine. The X-men movies are unfairly skewed towards Wolverine.

I also don't like how overcrowded the movies have become. Yes, the mutant community is large and ripe for movie material... but you got to establish what you have first before you move on to introduce new characters. I also didn't like how they royally screwed up the timeline with First Class. If Emma Frost is Magneto's age... then Cyclops and Emma can never be a thing. Havok was way too old. Ugh... I mean I get that you need to make the material work for whatever you are doing... but at least have SOME respect for the source material.

My "main" X-men team. I feel it should be the one that has a lot of powerhouses that can take on the most difficult stuff.

Cyclops - Team leader/strategist

Magneto - Powerhouse/Interesting philosophical discussions with Storm/leader if necessary

Storm - Powerhouse/Interesting philosophical discussions with Magneto/leader if necessary

Iceman - Powerhouse/off-tank/splash of humor

Wolverine - Tank/Sales and selling the book to suits

Dust - New blood/I think has potential to be about on par with Storm in terms of power

Psylocke - Stealth/Psychic link to keep team in communication

I think this team can handle mostly anything thrown at it. Additional positives are that everyone except maybe Wolverine has visually stunning powers when drawn properly. Could make for some really interesting art. The team also has a healthy dose of diversity. 4 white guys (albeit 1 American, 1 Canadian, 2 Jewish), 1 African woman, 1 Arab woman, and 1 Japanese woman (sorta). Downside is that there is no teleporter. Though you can easily add one if you want and still be within the rules of the thread.

Another quirky team... I call it the "Let's be heroes!" team. Also an X-men/Avengers crossup team.

Scarlet Witch - I'm actually going to put her in leader position. I think it feels right with this team. Bring out the motherly aspects of her too.

Wiccan - Mother/Son/Brother connection. Opportunity to form mutant ties

Speed - Mother/Son/Brother connection. Scout. Opportunity to form mutant ties

X-23 - Tank role. I can see her being friends with Wiccan and Speed... Wiccan being that reliable friend she needs while Speed causes the trouble (maybe flirting too?) Stealth/Scouts with Speed

Anole - He has expressed interest in Young Avengers. Proof that two gay male characters can be on the same team and NOT have to hook up

Idie - I think perhaps that being around people who have had to learn/are still learning to accept themselves (SW, Wiccan, X-23, Anole) could potentially help her. I can see her saying some pretty ignorant things that are offensive yet aren't meant to hurt anybody so therefore are funny.

Pixie - Brings a little bit of fun to the team. Teleporter.

I don't know... I stopped having any hope for the series after the first issue when Rogue was getting up in Scarlet Witch's face about the whole mutant genocide thing. It was odd how Rogue was so upset with her and yet she is fine being with Magneto who has done plenty of horrible things himself and yet that is forgiven.

I just don't think they really know how to write the characters in the first place so they haven't really figured out how to make the team make sense in my opinion. Everything in the series felt forced. For me, it started with the Rogue/SW scene.

What are your thoughts? While I think that director has a good grasp on creating great female characters... I think the tone is completely wrong. DC films have sort of differentiated itself from Marvel films because they tend to have a "darker" tone. If anything, I think WW should have the most violent of the films. I'm glad that it wasn't green-lit. But it is good to hear that DC is hearing WW film pitches though.

I didn't like it. I thought it was rather bland... Nice cinematography but that's about it. Didn't like the costumes, bad fight scenes, the little acting that was there was quite cheesy... to me this is an example of how I DON'T want a Wonder Woman movie.

Could be. Just figured I might as well share it just the same. I hope it turns out to be true though.
