I think she's in enough series to get her fair deal of spotlight. The problem will be what the writers decide to do with her. Hopefully she just doesn't sit in the background and chuck lightning every once in a while.

Side note: I was a little pissed when I read Uncanny Avengers #1. Warning for SPOILERS. Quote:

Cap - "I'd like you to join us -- to become an Avenger. More than join, I want you to lead a squad of our very best. X-men and Avengers working together. Setting an example of cooperation. With Xavier gone, and Cyclops locked away, someone has to stand up and represent the mutants. Logan is trying, and he's doing good work at the school... but with his checkered past he can't be the face of this. You're a government man, degree in geophysics, a student of Xavier's with a clean history. People will listen to you. They'll follow you."

Havok - "I'm not Xavier, and I'm DEFINITELY not my brother."

Cap - "They're gone--you're not. Like it or not, you're the best candidate to lead the fight for Xavier's Dream."

Havok - "No. Not me."

Cap - "SOMEONE has to stand up and fill their shoes, Alex."

Umm... Did they completely forget about Storm there? She has credentials that are just as good if not better than Havok's. Plus she was most outspoken advocate for Xavier's Dream during Cyclop's reign. She was the only one to TRY to bridge that gap while everyone was only worried about protecting themselves. And clean history? Storm is squeaky clean. The only blemish that I can think of is her current situation with BP.

Maybe it's because I'm a fan of both characters but... Rather than a battle between the two I'd like to see them working together as a duo. I mean we see hints of it in the new Uncanny X-men issues but I'd like to see it explored more. IMO they are the two most prominent mutant leader figures currently besides Cyclops so it would be interesting to see them team up. Or maybe it's just me thinking back on the good old MvC2 days.

And also: Am I the only one who, while enjoying Brian Wood's writing, wasn't particularly thrilled with his characterization? I loved how capable he made her but... she seemed too stern and grumpy to me.

true. But I would prefer them working together, just the two of them in a 4 mini series called: X-Men Leaders: Cyclops & Storm. : )

I would love that! It sounds epic.

I have no problem with your opinion. It's valid and I can see where it comes from. I just think that if Magneto can be given star treatment and be in the X-men lineup, then I don't see why Wanda shouldn't be able to be on the Avengers lineup. Should she be? Eh maybe not. Both her and Magneto have some severe crimes to atone for. But in the end they are on those teams.

And this was my interpretation... it wasn't so much as Wanda "passing judgement" as much as it was her just following Cap's orders. She wants to be "in with the in-crowd" so to say so she's trying not to stir up too much drama in the Avengers lineup by questioning their orders. I think she probably feels being in the Avengers are her best chance of atoning for her crimes and so she doesn't want to stir the pot and have them hate her more than they already do. She's already walking a very thin line where half the Avengers basically wanted her dead. Or at least not on a superhero team. She doesn't want to give them another excuse to kick her out.

I do wish she defended the mutant community more though. But I can see why she wouldn't considering she's trying to lay low in terms of causing conflict within the Avengers.

Understood. I didn't consider it from that way. ( I love how we ended up so far off Storm topic with Wanda. lol )

Magneto will always play both sides of the street. lol

But do you think Wanda will get her due in the end?

Something tells me that she will be the Avengers version of Jean/Phoenix

xD Oopsie. Let's make it on topic for a second:

So... that Storm character... I think I like her. She's amazing.

And no. I don't think Wanda will get her due because either they will have her atone for it (unlikely) or if someone does try to give her her due then Magneto/Quicksilver/Wiccan/Speed will step in and dissuade them. Either with words or with force.

And she could end up that way. I guess time will tell.

@poisonfleur: But they let Magneto play hero for a while... why not Wanda? Rogue fought against the X-men and now she's a major player for them. Colossus is a wild-card on the X-men team now. X-23 was an assassin. There are plenty of instances where people have done something wrong but are trying to atone for it... and the X-men/Avengers/whoever let them try. They may not be enthusiastic about it... but they at least give them a chance. Wanda is no different in my opinion.

To be honest it is kinda funny to watch Wanda pass judgement after she pretty much has single handily committed genocide. Right now my knickers are in a bundle because the Avengers have so much shine and push in AvX. (At least Storm got some shine out of this, so I am happy. :) )

Although if I was Wanda, I wouldn't be worrying about other people's wrongs against humanity. Especially since she could potentially walk away from this without whole thing believing that helping stop the Phoenix was atonement for her actions.. Which hardly is...

& If you haven't forgotten, she has been tip toeing around the mutant community until now when $h!t has gone well beyond the point of hitting the fan.

IMO, if she wants to become a hero again, she needs to pay for ALL her crimes--- not just the ones against mutants.

I think it's rather funny how she can be a good guy when she wants to,

go into hiding when she wants too,

and commit wrongs against humanity when she wants too.

She certainly is her fathers daughter. lol

(Btw no disrespect if you are a fan of hers--- just calling it like I see it.)

ugh...add in some white short or long boot heels an this look would be fierce...

I don't like it. Too many x logos and she's wearing slippers?

I agree about the X logos. Take off all the logos except the ones on her shoulders and I would like the look. And replace the sandals with some boots like you said. Her earrings need to be changed too. Just a simple lightning bolt or something instead.

Though I think I might sorta like the look with the sandals if there were no logos, the shirt and pants were attached, no belt, and if the bath towel-like thing was gone. Not sure though. I feel like it would look good in the style of the drawing but not in other comic book art styles.

@Silver_Raven: She has no acting credits though. She's just a model. And if people made casting decisions requiring actors to be from the same country as the character they are portraying... well... I'll just say goodbye to all my Meryl Streep movies.

It depends on the stage of her life/age they introduce her character at...

If she is the refined, elegant, nurturing leader then I would suggest Kerry Washington.

If she hasn't yet blossomed into that woman like I would assume and they focus on her being a thief and stuff... Nicole Beharie maybe?

Edit: LOL I just found out she's dating (or dated? I dunno) the guy who played Magneto. What a coincidence.

Nicole is very pretty.

AND SHUT THE F-------------------------ront door!!

I thought Zoe Kravitz was dating the guy who played Magneto??? (She also dated the guy who played Angel)

This article says they were dating. And it was made in 2012.

Maybe Zoe was kicked to the curb?

I'm not crazy about it but I don't really have any solid objections to make other than my distaste for Wolverine as a character. Mainly because he's so over-saturated xD
