Kane You Do Me A Favor? 0

Plot: Talia V.S. Batman.SOME SPOILERS FOLLOW... Story and ScriptOroboro.Grant brings his Batman epic to a close with some good writing and shocking twists. Talia has some great dialogue here and I absolutely love the "You, with your jokers and riddlers, your evil doctors. All those grotesque mental patients you chooseto "match wits" with. You'll play in the mud for the rest of your life. Oh, my detective... You should have killed me when you had----had the chance"Line. Talia really makes ...

Big Moments 0

Plot: Death, war, humor, and more.Script"You always said it's the big moments that show who you are. Let's find out"Oh shit. This issue has so many oh yeah moments. So many twists and turns. Before I read this issue I flipped through it, and spoiled a certain characters death for myself. However I didn't see who killed them, once I found out...oh man.Sweet character development. Sophie and Lavinia really make strides in this area. As humorous as the two are, they really are complex ch...

It's All Been Leading to This... 0

Plot: Whistler's plan nears completion can Angel, Faith, Giles, and the others stop him? Or is it already to late?Story and ScriptOkay so SPOILERS someone dies. It's kind of crazy. The character dies as they lived. Too blinded by their own rage to see anything clearly. Still I finally felt for the character again. After the last arc(Death and Consequences) I was left hoping this character would be one of the two main characters to bite the dust. Now? Not so much. Though if it means so...

All for a Cuppa Coffee 0

Plot: Um... stuff happens.Story and ScriptI've got to say I've been a bit disappointed with these last few issues of Hawkeye. I feel like Matt Fraction has really been experimenting with storytelling, and that's great. Changing up the usual formula from time to time can be nice and refreshing(Buffy the Vampire Slayer was great with this). However I've felt for the most part it's all kind of fell flat. This issue kind of continues the trend. The issue focus's mostly on Clint trying to get m...

Christmas in July! 0

Plot: Edison has his very first super-hero team-up with the brand new Eclipse!Story and Script. We learn a bit more about Eclipse II who prior to this issue had only appeared in statue form, and in brief flashbacks. That is an aspect of this series I really like. Nothing is trivial, everything seems to come back to play later(whether it be statues, or a brief mention in the Edison Files). There's also a bit of twist to the character, which pays homage to Batman Beyond. I'm rather excited to ...

Angel & Faith Digest! 2

I'll admit I was hesitant about this issue. Not that I wasn't excited for a whole issue of Faith and Spike. It's just the last one off issue this book had was pretty bad. So did this continue the trend? Well...Plot: Angel is crazy, Spike and Faith got to help him!Story & Script(Continuing from first paragraph)...nope. This issue advances the plot a bit, and delivers some great humor. Faith and Spike's interaction is wonderful. Angel & Faith also continues with name dropping east...

Dead But Not Gone 0

PlotA old foe returns, as the Chu's cope with death of one of their own...Story & ScriptSPOILERSI had a nice sigh of relief opening this issue to see Toni will still have a presence in the book. The flashback is great. The scene with Colby hitting on Tony's sister was pretty funny. This issue is sort of a back to the basics approach to Chew. As nice as it is to have Tony back in the spotlight, I still miss Toni. After the funeral scene I felt the issue lost a little steam. I don't know w...

Goodbye Stranger 0

SPOILERS Plot: We bid farewell to a key character in this landmark issue...Story & ScriptSPOILERS IN 1...2...3...Toni we hardly knew yah! Chew reaches it's half-way point, and celebrates it with death and despair. The opening pages are great, that moment where Layman pulls the rug right out from under you really hurts. In these six issues Toni has become one of my favorite characters in all of comics. She goes out like a champ though, which is all I could ask. She refuses to give up he...

The cover is nice, but a tad misleading.Rating: 4.5/5Story & ScriptThis issue ties up a lot of loose ends, and makes a few new ones. For past reviews: Batman #14Okay I know I'm going to get a bunch of people who'll thumbs down this review. That's fine, do that if you will, but hear me out I like Snyder's writing(for the most part). I have nothing against him, but I did not enjoy this issue and here's why...Art"Castle of Cards"The art is as usual pretty great. However I didn't like how the fight with Mister Freeze was drawn. For Past Reviews: Ultimate Comics X-Men #7So first, yep I'm back getting and reviewing Ultimate X-Men. The only reason I stopped was because I fell behind and then never caught up with it. So yes, I will be reviewing the book again.Art.The cover is very nice and simple. The interior's are done by Paco Medina and is mostly good. Fun with Firestorm! 0

Art.Dan Jurgen's art is excellent. I've been a fan of his dynamic full on super-hero art style for a while. The main problem I have with the art in this issue is I feel it's a bit over inked.Specifically the scenes at the High School with Ronny, the art has a lot of lines on the characters face. Perhaps I'm just being picky, but it was a tad strange. The colors are vibrant and pretty and really add to the art.Story & Script.I've never been a devout fan of Firestorm. My first introduction to ...
