I'm down the middle on the costume change. I liked the previous design BUT I also kinda like this one. The thing that does bother me about this redesign is I don't know if it's the artist, costume, or what but she looks like 14-17 year old.
As much as i think kaines popularity is helping realistically I think its the Lizard by far. Clearly the most recent lizard received an upgrade and peter was completely out matched. Peter has both spider sense that helps him in his fights plus he has spider-fu. And if I'm not mistaken kaine stated early in is book that he had no spider-sense and even with his fast reflexes he got hit or grazed by a bullet. So considering that Pete couldn't really dodge the lizard coupled with his skin being tougher and improved strength odds are in the lizards favor. I see some arguments using Kaines fight with the Lobos as an indicator to how he would fare against the lizard that assessment is limited. The Lobos objective were aracely and they had the attention divided. Besides, to even compare them to the lizard is not really a comparison maybe in viciousness but not in physical level. But Kaines biggest down fall is if he gets frustrated or loses his temper during the fight. Yes he is smart fighter but honestly Kaine gets sloppy when he loses it. And I have a strong feeling he will as the fight drags on and will start to rely on his default fighting mode and fight like a brute, and this could work if he was physically superior to lizard which he isn't.
Well they did title the book Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-man, almost like they are trying to distinguish it for readers. Hopefully, there is another book with peter as the focus.
