1.1

Strange stands on a floating upside-down mountain in the dark dimension, Dormammu stands taller than him in the fiery sky. Strange and Dormammu are firing streams of magical energy at each other, both surrounded by magical auras that emanate across the entire dimension.

CAPTION: STRANGE: It was the final battle.

CAPTION: STRANGE: Again.

1.2

Wong is running toward Strange, holding a glowing magical artifact, jumping across a series of floating rocks.

WONG: Stephen! I have the (Oh, why bother for you people)!

CAPTION: STRANGE: Only this time, we were both going to die.

1.3

Strange concentrating.

CAPTION: STRANGE: I resorted to a rudimentary bond, tethering him to one end. It was working, slowly merging our auras. Soon I could simply martyr myself.

1.4

Dormammu cries out. A separate black bolt of energy comes down from the fire-clouds toward Strange.

CAPTION: STRANGE: He didn’t like that idea.

2.1

Wong jumps in the way of the energy. Strange is forced to keep concentrating.

CAPTION: STRANGE: Neither did Wong, apparently.

2.2

Dormammu crumbles into himself like a volcano.

CAPTION: STRANGE: Instead, Wong became the scorse for the scales.

2.3

Strange collapses on his knees next to Wong. There are cracks of white light forming in the sky.

CAPTION: STRANGE: Dormammu could never return so long as Wong stayed dead.

2.4

Strange holds Wong’s body and waves his hand, a portal opens up in front of them.

CAPTION: STRANGE: I woke this morning and knew the terrible truth.

3.1

Strange sits on a chair in the Sanctum library, holding a hot cup of tea. The Avengers (Cap, Iron Fist, Hyperion, Falcon, Iron Man and Hawkeye) surround him, and Iron Fist stands closest to him.

STRANGE: Wong has returned.

STRANGE: You must have sensed it too, Daniel.

STRANGE: That’s why you’re here.

3.2

Iron Fist.

IRON FIST: STEPHEN.

IRON FIST: HE WAS MURDERING PEOPLE ON TV.

3.3

Strange looks down and sips his tea.

STRANGE: Oh.

SFX: sip

3.4

Falcon whispering to Cap in the background.

FALCON: Doctor Strange doesn’t have a TV?

FALCON: No internet? Nothing?

CAP: What a terrifying world that must be.

FALCON: …

FALCON: Oh right.

4.1

Strange looks at Iron Fist.

IRON FIST: Stephen.

IRON FIST: How do you suppose Wong came back?

4.2

Strange.

STRANGE: What is this?

STRANGE: You arrive at my Sanctum, ready to fight, UNINVITED...

STRANGE: And you question me like I’m some sort of Victor Frankenstein?

4.3

Cap takes a step forward, in front of Iron Fist.

CAP: This is an intervention.

IRON FIST: SMALL TEXT: Why did you have to call it that.

STRANGE: What is this an intervention FOR?

STRANGE: I am the Sorcerer Supreme!

4.4

Iron Fist, behind Cap.

IRON FIST: Look, I don’t want this to heat up.

IRON FIST: I just got sat through a mouthful from a certain pilot who was teleported out of his mother’s house mid sentence.

STRANGE: YOU BROUGHT THE AVENGERS TO LECTURE ME ON COLLATERAL DAMAGE BECAUSE I STARTLED SOME PLEB’S MOTHER?

IRON FIST: NO, I--

IRON FIST: Dammit...

5.1

Falcon turns to look out the window.

IRON MAN: OP: Look, Stephen, we all hit crazy lows every now and then.

IRON MAN: OP: We’re your friends. We just want to help you work your way up.

5.2

Falcon turns to talk to the others, but they ignore him.

FALCON: Guys, the birds are seeing folks vanishing all over...

STRANGE: OP: YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE YOU COULD PERCEIVE ANY SUCH LOW?

FALCON: Guys?

IRON MAN: OP: YOU JUST SAID YOU MARTYR YOURSELF FOR PLEBS!

5.3

Hyperion’s eyes glow.

HYPERION: Sam’s right.

STRANGE: OP: AND THIS IS THE THANKS I GET?

5.4

Hyperion flies straight upward.

CAP: We’re getting way off track he--

6.1

Hyperion his the wooden ceiling of the Sanctum library, but smacks into it like a normal human against concrete.

SFX: CRAK

6.2

Hyperion smacks back down into the ground, his cape flopping over his head,

SFX: THUMP

IRON MAN: ...What are you doing?

6.3

Hyperion stands up, still unbalanced. Everyone but Falcon looks at him incredulously.

HYPERION: People are vanishing. All over the world.

6.4

Falcon tells the others off, while they still look at Hyperion.

FALCON: He’s right. Redwing spotted one in Harlem, and two pigeons saw it in Hell’s Kitchen and on Broadway.

6.5

Everyone finally turns to look at the pissed off Falcon.

HAWKEYE: Why didn’t you say anything?

FALCON: I DID! YOU WERE BUSY TALKING ‘BOUT DRAGONS AND SH*T!

Strange looks away from the others.

STRANGE: ….......Hm.

STRANGE: Yes, I see it. It would appear this is within my field of expertise.

7.2

Strange walks past the team.

CAP: But--

STRANGE: If you insist on helping me, I insist that only Daniel accompany me.

IRON FIST: But--

7.3

Hyperion stands behind Strange.

HYPERION: I’m coming too.

STRANGE: FINE.

STRANGE: I’ll allow Daniel and your flying Hulk to join me.

STRANGE: Now...

7.4

Strange waves his hand casually as he walks forward. Bright lights surround the other Avengers.

STRANGE: ...would the rest of you kindly GET OUT OF MY HOUSE?

7.5

Hyperion and Iron Fist stand alone as Strange grabs his cloak off a hanger.

IRON FIST: Guess that settles that.

STRANGE: Let’s just go.

8.1

Strange, Hyperion, and Iron Fist stand outside the Sanctum on the sidewalk, attracting second glances and outright stares. Hyperion’s eyes glow.

HYPERION: I still see it. Every few seconds, another tiny violation of the law of conservation of mass. Dozens of them, building up.

8.2

Iron Fist squints his eyes, focusing.

IRON FIST: I’m starting to feel it too. Bits of chi, randomly disconnecting from the system. Like branches clipped from a bonsai tr--

STRANGE: Would you both just shut up?

STRANGE: Your idiocy is distracting, and I’ve almost located the source of the disappearances with SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY WORKS.

8.3

Iron Fist and Hyperion stare down Strange.

STRANGE: Honestly.

8.4

Iron Fist and Hyperion stare down Strange.

STRANGE: How do you Avengers stand each other’s company?

8.5

Iron Fist and Hyperion stare down Strange.

IRON FIST: No. Please.

IRON FIST: Tell us more.

HYPERION: DOCTOR.

9.1

Strange’s eyes glow red.

STRANGE: There.

STRANGE: Where it began.

STRANGE: Central Park.

IRON FIST: Oh, that’s original.

9.2

The red glow surrounds the three of them like a cage of energy.

STRANGE: For the love of Vishanti, shut up Daniel.

9.3

The three stand in central park, the exact spot where the burning bush massacre took place.

STRANGE: It makes perfect sense.

STRANGE: This is where I had to enter the dark dimension on that day.

STRANGE: Here.

STRANGE: At this exact spot.

9.4

Iron Fist and Hyperion looking at Strange.

STRANGE: Everything is connected.

9.5

Strange holds his hand up, and it begins to glow a dull grey.

STRANGE: These disappearances are the beginning of an attempt to break the whole.

STRANGE: To disconnect the cosmos.

STRANGE: This is the broken center.

9.6

Strange’s hand reaches through thin air, into a grey void.

STRANGE: The entrance to my dreams.

HYPERION: What.

IRON FIST: Stephen...

STRANGE: To my nightmares.

10.1

Strange leans into the portal, taking a step.

STRANGE: To Wong.

IRON FIST: STEPHEN!

10.2

Iron Fist grabs onto Strange, and is dragged into the portal with him. Hyperion grabs onto the back of Iron Fist’s mask.

HYPERION: STRANGE!

10.3

Hyperion slams into the portal like it’s a brick wall, and he still holds Iron Fist’s mask.

HYPERION: Dammit.

10.4

Strange and Danny stand on the other side of the portal. The grey void has become a dark, leather colored cave.

DANNY: This is...?

STRANGE: My dreamscape. My subconscious mind.

STRANGE: I had a vision, a journey--

DANNY: Wait.

DANNY: Where’s Hyperion?

10.5

Danny looks behind them, it’s just a solid wall.

STRANGE: Only one in tune with the system of causality may pass. Call it magic, your chi, Kabbalah, what have you. The source of your friend’s abilities is merely superficial in nature.

IRON FIST: So basically you just don’t like him as a person.

STRANGE: That’s not wrong.

Strange leads the way, walking down the dark cave.

STRANGE: It’s this way.

11.2

Danny follows Strange. The cave seemingly goes on forever.

STRANGE: Daniel.

DANNY: Yeah?

STRANGE: I’d like to just... take this monotonous part of our day to apologize.

DANNY: It’s alri--

DANNY: Well.

DANNY: At least you’re apologizing.

DANNY: Now.

11.3

The cave makes a turn.

STRANGE: It’s been a difficult few weeks.

DANNY: I get it.

STRANGE: Plus we might die.

STRANGE: So I thought I’d get that out of the way.

11.4

Strange climbs up a slope in the cave, Danny follows closely.

DANNY: Of course.

12.1

Strange and Danny stand over the slope, and in front of them is a massive chamber, with a throne in the center. Dormammu sits at the throne, and a long line of people waits on the side. Dormammu holds one person in both hands, ripping them apart.

STRANGE: By the Hoary Hosts of--

DANNY: F**K ME!

12.2

Dormammu looks over at Strange.

DORMAMMU: Oh.

DORMAMMU: It’s you.

12.3

Dormammu grabs three people from the line, crushing them.

DORMAMMU: Hello again.

12.4

Danny grabs Strange by the shoulders.

DANNY: HE’S GONNA THROW DEAD PEOPLE AT US!

12.5

Dormammu throws dead people at them.

DORMAMMU: OLD FRIEND!

13.1

Strange and Danny run back toward the slope where they came.

WONG: OP: Stephen, where are you going?

13.2

Strange turns his head.

STRANGE: Oh, God.

13.3

Wong stands there, multiple attempts at creating Dark Dimension demons out of people on either side.

WONG: You didn’t even say hello to my reconstruction of Dormmamu.

DANNY: YOU MADE A DORMAMMU OUT OF PEOPLE?!

WONG: Why wouldn’t I?

WONG: They were there.

WONG: Inefficient. Tiny. Little. Pieces.

13.4

Strange holds his hand up at Wong.

WONG: Are you going to magic me back to death now?

STRANGE: What I do is so much more than ma-

DANNY: PLEASE JUST MAGIC HIM TO DEATH NOW.

13.5

One of the dark dimension demons runs at Danny.

DANNY: STEPHEN.

DANNY: SERIOUSLY.

14.1

Danny fights the demons in the background while Strange and Wong stand off.

STRANGE: You’re part of me, too, aren’t you?

WONG: How else could I possibly inhabit this space without your conscious permission?

14.2

Strange.

STRANGE: Good.

STRANGE: That proves you’re not Wong.

14.3

Strange, angry tears.

STRANGE: Wong was never dependent on me.

14.4

Strange lunges at Wong, in the same pose as the opening of the bear fight.

WONG: what are you--

14.5

Strange collides with Wong, knocking him off his feet.

15.1

Strange, on top of Wong, viciously punches him in the face. Right hook.

15.2

Left hook.

15.3

Danny looks over at Strange, while punching through the demon’s “chest.”

DANNY: At least he’s not naked this time.

15.4

Strange strangling Wong.

WONG: You made me

WONG: with all the little pieces

WONG: of your broken ego

15.5

Wong’s neck snaps.

SFX: SNAP

15.6

Strange.

STRANGE: I’ll make do.

16.1

The people in line at Dormammu’s throne are pulled toward him by invisible forces, merging with his flesh. Dormammu begins to stand. Fire erupts from between the fleshy joints and bones.

DORMAMMU: HE IS A BROKEN MACHINE!

16.2

Dormammu screaming at Strange, pointing down as the last of the people merge into his body.

DORMAMMU: BUT I STILL FUNCTION PERFECTLY!

16.3

Strange, standing up from Wong. Danny at his side.

STRANGE: We have to bring him back into the world.

DANNY: WHAT?!

17.1

Strange flies through the tunnel, dragging Danny with him, his eyes glowing grey to cast a spell.

STRANGE: He’s nothing but a collage of mismatched parts!

17.2

The portal opens at the end of the cave, Danny and Strange are closing in.

STRANGE: One punch from your idiot friend and he’ll collapse!

IRON FIST: Dammit Stephen, Luke’s not a--

IRON FIST: OH. RIGHT. HYPERION!

17.3

The cave collapses behind them, Dormammu breaks through the dreamrock cavern with sheer force of will.

DORMAMMU: I AM A BETTER MACHINE!

DORMAMMU: INFERIOR PARTS ASSEMBLED TO CREATE A SUPERIOR DESIGN!

Strange and Danny floating above Central Park. Hyperion flies up toward them from below.

HYPERION: WHAT DID HE DO?

18.2

The three of them look down. Dormammu’s burning fleshy head sticks out of the portal.

DORMAMMU: BUT I AM MORE! SO MUCH MORE!

DORMAMMU: I AM THE GOD OF THE DARK DIMENSION!

18.3

Strange to Hyperion.

DORMAMMU: OP: I CANNOT BE KILLED!

Strange shouts to Hyperion.

STRANGE: DO WHAT YOU WERE BORN TO DO AND PUNCH SOMETHING YOU--

19.2

Same shot, but Dormammu's hand reaches out and grabs Strange.

STRANGE: --ACK

19.3

Strange being pulled down into the portal, while Danny and Hyperion stare dumbstruck.

DORMAMMU: YOU ARE ALL TINY!

DORMAMMU: LITTLE!

DORMAMMU: PIECES!

19.4

The portal closes, Danny begins falling.

VFX: VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

DANNY: Wha--

Hyperion catches Iron fist by the wrist.

DANNY: AGH... Dammit...

20.2

Hyperion floats down toward the ground.

DANNY: I think you dislocated my--

HYPERION: Where did they go?

20.3

Danny and Hyperion look at where the portal was.

HYPERION: What just happened?

IRON FIST: Uh.
