I remain skeptical. The only good films in the Animated Original Movies line are Wonder Woman & Under the Red Hood. Everything else ranges from decent (Apocalypse), to mediocre (Crisis), to downright terrible (JL War).
Superman vs The Elite opts to disagree with your analysis my friend :P That comes under the good films category in my books. A damn great adaptation of my second favourite Superman story. Not the best animation I concede but the story and action made up for it.
As for this trailer, it looks alright. A decent voice cast, a serviceable plot and good visuals should make for an interesting viewing when we see more of this film.
I haven't actually seen that one; it's one of the only two Animated Originals I haven't caught yet (The other being Unbound because I have yet to read the Brainiac story arc and I don't want spoilers). I just couldn't get over the movie's art style. Supes looked really funny there. Maybe I'll give it a shot one of these days.
Superman vs. The Elite is my second favorite DC animated movie, right after Under the Red Hood. I didn't like the art style going in, but the story quickly made up for it and pretty soon I was so invested in the movie that I didn't even notice the goofy designs.
I also really liked Crisis. I thought Apocalypse, All-Star, TDKR, and Unbound were all pretty decent, and while Flashpoint was immensely flawed, I did overall enjoy it. The rest have all kind of floundered though, and JL War was just downright bad. I still haven't seen Son of Batman or JL Doom, but from what I'm hearing, I don't think I really need to hunt them down.
