It's a new start to the volume and slightly new team. Find out what brings them together.
Time is ticking down while universe are disappearing by the thousands. The only question remaining might just be: what lies beyond?
Will this issue end already?
Consistently one of my favorite books on the shelves.
Is this the first 4 star Batman review since the New 52 started?
As much as I love this book, and Snyder's writing... I'm surprisingly glad to see him leave. His work, while (usually) great, is incredibly plodding, whereas Charles Soule, from the sound of it, plans to approach the series with a more fast-paced style that I can't wait to see. I'm just immensely curious as to where he'll take the book.
I understand this comic series didn't have a steady writer and artist, but it does now, I think. What I was wondering is that can I start from Lemire and Sorrentino issues and expect to follow the story or should I start from the beginning, issue #1?
You can pretty much jump on where Lemire started and you'll be okay. There are some references to things in prior issues, but its all explained quickly and efficiently to get you up to speed on the important parts.
Was I the only one confused about why Raven (at least I think that was Raven) was all red skinned and demonic here? You know, like she is only when she's under Trigon's influence?
Probably just a particularly drastic design change for this universe. It seems odd that Raven would be changed to heavily when everyone else just gets a slightly different costume, but its the only real explanation I can think of.
Love this book! Probably my favorite issue of the week.
this issue was good, but over all the arch did not live up to expectations. How did this actually change the statis quo of the Batman family. Joker doesn't know their identities, even he obviously knows Dick Graysons. He kept calling him Dickie. Didn't anyone else notice that??? Same old Batman Joker story tho. Why doesn't Batman kill Joker? Joker gets a way. Same thing. Nothing new. Art was great tho. Story was good. Nothing shocking tho. Just another gag fromt he Joker. I got Jokered out from this tho.
Joker was not calling Nightwing "Dickie." Dick hallucinated that because of the fear toxin.
The Flash is consistently one of my favorite books on the shelves each month. I was skeptical going in, being a die-hard Wally West fan and not too familiar with the creative team on this book, but I certainly don't regret getting into it now.
I like Gail Simone, and I (for the most part) am liking her run on Batgirl... but damn it, I wish she wouldn't try to write James Jr. She just doesn't capture the character quite right, in my opinion. She comes close at times, but his characterization here, as a whole, just hasn't been working for me.
