Her wings are made of Nth metal, which negates gravity. There's no need for them to be a certain size to generate enough lift. The feathers are just a decoration.

Ignoring any of the many ridiculous godlike races from Trek (most of whom never seem to have any effect on the affairs of the Galaxy anyway and would have no reason to interfere against an Imperial invasion), I think that the Imperium demolishes them. Their ships are far larger with greater firepower (including access to planet busting weapons), evidencing superior materials, energy generation, and engineering capabilities (with the possible exception of the Borg). On the ground and atmospheric engagements, there is no comparison. The Imperium also holds vast strategic advantages In terms of manpower, manufacturing, and ruthlessness.

The only thing that makes it iffy is that the Imperium's FTL travel is apparently less reliable than warp, being affected by psychic warp storms, demonic attacks, and occasional accidental time travel (I remember at least one instance in the old Space Hulk book of a mayday message being received before it was sent). Despite all the talk about such things, however, Warp accidents seem relatively rare, and, in clear shipping lanes, Imperial ships routinely cross the galaxy in 6 months to several years compared to the 60+ it would've taken Voyager to get from the Delta Quadrant back to Earth.

I wouldn't even call the DC Direct offerings "action" figures because they usually have extremely limited articulation. And they don't make good statuettes either, since few of them can stand on their own.

I'm still waiting for Mattel to put out decent 4" action figures of the DC characters instead of the crap that is the Infinite Heroes collection. The JLA set w/ Starro released at Comic Con looks to be an improvement, but Hasbro is still putting them to shame.

This is Bendis's attempt at capturing the essence of Robert Downey Jr.'s Stark, and we all know Bendis can't write good dialogue to save his life even when he's not trying to ape an actor.

Are you for real? It's a voice over with a logo, not exactly originated by "The Dark Knight."

I'm sorry not everything can be about Batman.

Why can you accept it in the comics but not in the movies? Would you find it hard to swallow if Asgard and Yggdrasil, et al, was couched in terms of an "hyperdimensional pocket universe accessible through quantum dynamic effects at high energy levels"? Perspective counts for a lot.

There's very little realistic about the Iron Man movies anyway. Whether it's the "arc reactor", the aerodynamics of the flying suit, or the "create a new element with some pipes, a laser, and a monkey wrench" bit, it's very soft sci-fi.

No, Legends were going to go away with or without the Universe figs to replace them. It wasn't really all that long ago (like, 4 years) when the B-A-F Legends were only $7.99. The $15+ price point for latter day Legends figures, like the Hulk Fin-Fang-Foom waves, was just unrealistic. Their larger size meant higher shipping cost and less shelf space at the retailers, which wasn't going to fly in a weakening economy especially combined with skyrocketing prices.

The quality of  the Marvel Universe figures is generally superior to most of the Hasbro Legends and the late model Toy Biz legends, plus they are lots cheaper and in scale with GI Joe, Star Wars, and other toy lines, giving them a greater access to vehicles, parts for customization, and playability. I loved the Legends, but given the choice, I'm glad the Marvel Universe figures have taken over.

Wait, are these girls supposed to be attractive? I saw them, or some crew like them, at WizardWorld Philly and thought it might have been a promotion for some weird comic. I'm even more gobsmacked to find out that they're supposed to be sex symbols of some sort.

I guess it's good that they're still acknowledging the Alphas existence when they really seemed to be a bit part shoehorned in because of Final Crisis, but I think the writers still don't really know what to do with them.
